1472 days later and he’s still flexing the ADA tank
These are the vids that got me into this channel. Great scaping. I wish my current scaping turns out half as well
aw yay :) There will always be these kinds of videos coming out!
You finally come back my king 👑
I never went anywhere but thank you haha
Me every time I remember that I have a special interest in fish lol
@@FishForThought yes except for being gone for the last 2 months?
@@FishForThought also Chris do you have a discord?
@@Mr.Cat_837he has been posting videos regularly for the past 2 months tho
OVER FOUR YEARS AGO??? 😟 time does fly, now I have a 60p too and work at a fish store little did I know. Something we did know is that chris would not be able to keep that Java fern alive 💀
*insert obligatory covid years don't count something I'm still 22 something something*
Awesome video! Congratulations on your new place 😊
Thank you!! 😊
Congrats on the new spot! As a patreon member, what weekend this summer am I staying over?? I'M PAYING THE BILLS CHIRS! 😂
Always a nice surprise to get a bonus fish video after Monday!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Awesome scaping there Chris. Moving can be a hassle but when things start coming together, so worth it.
I am someone who has personally bought Malaysian trumpet snails to sift through my thick layer of sandy substrate. They just don't live. Even rams struggle. My fish and plants are very happy in the tank but idk why my snails don't make it especially when it's an older, cycled tank with tasty green algae. I'd 100% take your snails if I could lol
What’s your KH? That could be part of the problem
You may have trace metals. Most kits dont test for those. Do you have shrimp? They're also sensitive to metals.
luckily I see my kuhli loaches all the time in my tank as I got a few of them which made them alot more comfortable
Very nice tank, love the stocking!
thank you Chris for always being here and giving the best fish advice because of you I now have a planted 33-gallon and bred corys(cory gang!).
Skill issue I have a 37 gallon and a 40 gallon all stocked with plants and my 37 gallon has cories too
I'm joking obviously
awesome! grats on your cory gang
Love the dwarf rasboras! I'm about to stock my cycled and planted 10 gallon soon. Cory gang
awesome!
Thanks for all your content! Looking forward to new scaping Videos 😍
It's such a sweet treat when I get to enjoy more videos from Chris in a single week.
Glad to hear it :) I would pump out more videos if I could but I'm already so busy with videos xD
Hey Fish for though I have a serious question (yapping alert)
So if I have a 20 gallon tank and I want to stock it with Kuhli loaches small corydoras (Pygmy or pandas )red cherry shrimp chili rasboras galaxy rasboras and neon green rasboras how many should I get of each for my tank to be happy and healthy also love your vids❤️
A productive week. 😮
❤ it! Looks lush and pro off the bat! 10 / 10 😊 wishing you great vibes for your new spot🙌🍻
Thanks so much! 😊
Your videos always inspire me to spend time with my tanks, thank you ❤
tank maintenance! the fish love it
looks great. keep scaping
I had a malaysian trumpet snail problem in my fluval flex. I bought 2 assassin snails, and they did great at population control. Too great. Now I have an assassin snail problem in my fluval flex. Everyday I wake up and lose to snails.
Great husbandry, nice plant variety, beautiful scape: I rate this a 4.69420/5. Keep up the great work!
I find Malaysian trumpet snails very useful in my walstad tank tbh. They help the mulm and all the nutrients get down to the roots a lot quicker and keep the substrate clean. Since they are mostly out at night, you don't see them often as well.
Why don't you like them In your tanks?
there's just too many of them in my tanks :( I like their use too they're like earthworms for a healthy garden
yay for fish and all hail the algorithm!
Great work Chris, looks great!!
thx!
I love the crypts! but do you keep them fed enough? mine grow so well but I gotta constantly put root tabs in and now Ive gone through the co op 60 pack twice but my crypt garden still has a little bit of empty space left. Is there an easier way to keep them fertilized?
3:29 bwo, legend it outta the zoo XD
Tru classic and absolute gold mate.
I find all my fun stuff in the bush or the local river.
Burnt wood extra details ....
Hey.....a bonus video on a Wed. I love it. Sorry that you had to move. It really does suck when you have multiple tanks to move too. I really loved the scape before you had to take it down. BUT...I also love the new scape. I give it a 5 out of 5. Keep it going Dude!!! LOL.
thank you!!
Excellent and relaxing video nice one bro
thanks :)
Has it been 4 years?! That's crazy
decent scape good husbandry very nice choice of fish not overstock i love the floaters overall great great anubias tank i give it 4.65 for now 😅😅😅
Pearlweed is a stem plant so sadly it is not a true carpet plant...but monte carlo is
Best algae eater for glass, freshwater 'pest' limpets. They LOVE green spot algae, and I mean the tough stuff.
Yes I've seen these guys munching away, but the thing is they're highly inefficient in my experience.
They're super slow and they only eat like a tiny literal SPOT of the spot green algae. And they multiply fast, so eventually your glass goes from pure spot algae to... still a lot of spot algae but a LOT off limpets too, even uglier LOL
A fft vid on Tuesday let's goo
it's wednesday for me!
bro put the pellets in an electric pepper grinder. I do that for my ember tetras and it works great!
genius
Seriously genius, I am buying one tomorrow.
@@toriwilson6961 brother you will not be disappointed and it seems to portion the food out pretty well : )
I think it would take a while to make it in to the textbooks with amanos 😅 there have been quite a few reports of them living for up to 20 years!
sheeeeesh
Please why is your fish rap so fire
Looks really good
woohoo!
Wondering if anyone knows anything about this; I have just planted a whole new aquarium with driftwood and it has been about a week since I put everything in water and the wood has started to grow a white fuzzy looking algae on it, should I be worried?
The fuzz goes away by itself, if you have snails they’ll eat it too,
airstone or slight surface movement from filter keeps the oxygen levels high enough so it won’t smell bad while the wood gets stabilized being in the water, the excess biofilm/ fuzz growth would only be an issue if it’s filterless tank without any water surface movement, as the fuzz growth in low oxygen begins to stink.
At least those are my experiences from few occasions that it has happened.
I'm sorry. I'm really new to the aquascaping hobby. I wanted to do a planted tank. But every time I put my plants in my aquasoil they start to turn brown and melt then die. I had bucephalandra and after a week it melted and didn't even root, I had ludwigias and the same thing happen. Can you please tell me why these happens?
The tank is looking gorgeous :D, you are the king of lowtech chris yay !!!!
ty!
@@FishForThought Chris i, what is the twinstar model that you are using.
You need some horned nerites for algae control, they're small, fast moving (for a typical snail) and doesn't seem to lay those white eyesore egg cases (atleast in my tank)
Horned nerites are the snails I love to recommend when ppl complain about nerite eggs!
Awsome video, I enjoy seeing these type of updates ... I like the floaters on top!. I tried adding frogbit tomy tank and they all died lol Othere plants ar ok but floaters went bye bye. I think it may have to do with output flow on my all in one being to strong but i don't really know. Do you know any floaters that can handle a bit more flow??
The update we have been waiting for !
here it is!
5 out of 5 stars. Keep it up! (to quote somebody whose videos I watch often).
ahahaha xD ty!
@@FishForThought I don't lie.
Well, sometimes I do, but not about this.
HELLO CHRIS!!
hey hey!
I’ve got seven tanks currently and I’m moving in my future it’s actually stopped me growing my fish room and breeding programs it’s overwhelming thinking of moving them good luck with your move 😊
I WISH IHAD THIS MANS KNOWLAGE HE IS DA FISH WHISPERER
Those chilli rasboras are so sweet. We get them in from commercial and as mostly they’re wild caught, they never really do well.
Where do you source yours from? I’d love to know.
they're dwarf rasboras so slightly different from chili and I think they're bred commercially
april's aquarium
i enjoy these type of videos too!
More to come!
yay the video he talked about in the last episode is finally here
3.75 / 5….keep it up. 👍🏼
dang that was a bit lower than I was thinking, but I'll work on improving!
Nice video whitt nice community
:D ty
I freaking love this channel sm LES GO CORY GANG
LETS GOOO
Fishnet game strong, the lady at my local fish store can’t compete 😅
hahaha xD she is doing her best
Nice
4.35 of 5... keep up the good work!

Looks great! Where do you get your rasboras from?

Lava Rock Pro Tip 2.0: Every other crappy front lawn uses black or red lava rock. Roll up and be a pirate ;)
This is amazing! I used to be rlly in the fish hobby but then I stopped having interest, watching these videos gets me excited about fish again
lets gooo!
I got my lava rock for free on the drive between Reno and Cali.
That looks so damn good

@@FishForThought yw!
Uchiha Chris for life!!
weeb for life xD
oh man this was my favorite scape
ok...I take it back. this scape is amazing
how many gallons is the tank
ooh 400K subs, getting that $ to spend on more wood and rock ;)
Unfortunately youtube earnings don't even correlate much with subscriber count anymore so ya, not much of a difference haha
I have a 20 high that has been moved or rescaped 7 times in 3.5 years. Just haven’t found the right fit of fish or scape. Current problem: pandas corys breeding too much. Too many babies= too much food = too much algae.
Nice 🙂 how old is your betta ?
nearing 4 years I believe, I don't know how old he was when I adopted him
all of my tanks are in my bedroom. 3 months ago i had to move my tanks to other part of my room and it was hell and back breaking..moving?? thts crazy for me lmao..but yeah one time i bought 60 p tank from someone and i carried it using my moped bike 20km total journey and the tank is safe 🤣🤣🤣
I remember keeping my goldfish in an IKEA Box with a filter and the best news he is still alive today
pro tip, bug bites come in absolutely tiny pellets, you have to order them but worth it
Unless bug bites a smaller grade than the smallest one I have with them...
Xtreme foods smallest is still the smaller pellet :0 That I know of.
@@FishForThought I think they're called granules, the small tropical fish granules I believe is what they're called
@@FishForThought I'm not sure if they're smaller
ITS WEDNESDAY!
YA
Where are you from bro ?
💚💚💚💚
I FEEL LIKE I'M CONTROLLING THE FISH.. WITH MY MIND POWERS .. TO GET INTO THE NET... 😂
hehe
how old is the betta now then im curious
almos t 4 i believe, I can't be sure
RIP Shrimpy :c
i am sad boi
Whats so wrong with Trumpet Snails? Are they any different from the other kinds in a harmful way?
I find them to be so cool
I used to like them because they indeed look cool. They're also useful for the substrate like earthworms in a garden. But they multiply faster than anything in this world and takes over my tanks.
I have to move June 1st and I'm not looking forward to it. It'll be my third move within 2 years...
I have moving tanks down to a science by now though so hopefully everything goes well
WE STOPPING GANG VIOLENCE WITH THIS ONE 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥

RIP Amano Shrimp 😭😭😭😭😭
yeah I'm really sad about that. Bro has been with me for so long
@2:18 Uhmmmmmm... Chris?
2:25 pause 💀
I am moving soon, it’s going to be a eight hour drive, I don’t know how I am going to move all my plants and fish yet.
I'm also going to be moving 14 hours away this summer. I'm thinking I'm going to have to rehome my guppies & neons. I hope my poor ancient betta (he's like 5, 6 years old) can survive the trip. I actually would be a kindness, I think, if he passes before I go. *sighs*
that's gonna be crazy :((( Wish you the best of luck
@@FishForThought Thanks! 🙂
I am moving houses in a week. Worried abt moving my two tanks
yeah it's a horrible process. But you will come out on the other side in one piece
Hold up.... it's already been 4 years since you got that tank?
yeah, it's crazy man I can't believe it
F*ck this is soo nostalgic
ikr
Was anyone else’s audio out of sync or just me??
that was b-roll that is not me talking, that was years ago!
@@FishForThought though my phone was playin’ up 🤣

But,... that amano shimp was a female? Rip her th0. I got a friend who claims she has two 17 year old Amano shrimp in her tank... i really wonder what their real age can be.
oh woops, I don't know how to gender amano because I will likely never breed them, or at least not in the next decade.
I really believe she could be telling the truth, but wow, 17 year old amano is insane. They are built different
Would be nice, but I don't think bare aquasoil is acceptable in a scape. It's very ugly.
I might carpet
Daaaamn moving aquariums seems like one of the worst things to move😅😆 Glass + living animals + Plants and you have to be mindful of temperature, stress levels and how long they are out of the aquarium... Well done though, cheers from SmallScaleTales 🤍🌱
R.i.p amano shrimp 🙁
fr rip...
editing note: the dbz sound effect in the intro Really clashes with the music and is very Jarring. personally i'd keep it with just the music and the visual animated logo but if the sfx is neccessary, please Please dont overlay it with the music
oh yeah pretty much most of my design choices are trumped by sentimentality, I don't think anyone's gonna persuade me from not using the nostalgic DBZ power up SFX hahaha

people are just waking up chill 😅
@@NekoNebula1313 No I mean I got here when there weren't any lol
I love the tanks but did he just dump dirty bag water in the tank💀
Great catch, the place where I get the fish go through rigorous quarantine before allowing them to be sold. I know personally how rigorous it is because I drove a long way once, and they absolutely wouldn't sell a species I wanted cuz they had a hunch they weren't ready yet.
Also, somehow I didn't have a fish net around so I didn't wanna risk it.
@FishForThought lol you made my day replying to me😊I absolutely love your channel I've watched every episode religiously
his words do not match his mouth and its bothering me intensely
it was footage from years ago!
@@FishForThought 0_0 wat
True fish whisperers would realize there's a power play and fish have zero interest of being confined to a tank. Imagine the shitty tanks and how it makes you feel and now imagine someone who is selfless enough to do what's best for the animals and simply stop supporting the trade of fish. To them you are just as shitty. From a fellow aquascaper turned vegan.
Are you against all pets?
I respect your take!
I love Malaysian trumpet snails, I have a sand bottom tank and they live in the sand and keep it sifted so it never settles, makes for a very healthy tank
I appreciate that they're pretty much earthworms for a healthy garden but man they multiply faster than rabbits cuz they're asexual
