"Read, read, read" is indeed a great advice. I would add "think, think, think" and "doubt, doubt, doubt." Especially, always doubt the propaganda of the establishment in the mainstream media.
Rather than "doubt" I'd use the word "critique" instead.

I think it was Twain who said: “when I was 14, I thought my father was about the most foolish man ever. By the time I turned 21, I was surprised at how much the old man had learned in 7 years.”

He was there with Mike Rutherford and they were staying at the same Hotel with their families.

The truth is a hard one, because for one it means something good and for another something bad. I always side with honesty. If you are honest and have a good heart it is not hard to say or do the right thing, the issue most have is not being honest or truthful its dealing with the feedback once they commit to a truth.
💌The truth is such a complex subject to deal with.... there are as many truths as thinking heads on the Earth and everyone has his reasons to be convinced in his own.
What I like most of you, Roger, is that in addition to being a man of Thought📖, you are a man of Action🏴☠ and you don't wear masks of hypocritical respectability to express what you really think, without fearing the inevitable counter-attacks.

My grandfather told me the truth not my parents and he was a policeman even though he was a builder by trade it was his job when the great depression came in the 1930s until the mid 50s and then he went back to the building trade until his retirement in 1970
Reading the comments posted below most of the shameless propaganda that passes for "news" leads me to believe that very few people people received such good advice.
