I love how our president is a fighter and he calls out bullshit where he sees it. Our own government interfered in our 2016 election and their partner in crime was the Ukraine and DNC. We want our stolen tax dollars back. It appears to be 2-7 billion missing. In Ukraine they already had corruption trials for interference in OUR election. There are people in prison over there for it. Our media is not giving us the truth. They are complicit just like they were with Jeffrey Epstein story because they protect their own....Clinton, Prince Andrew, etc, etc. We will seek the truth endlessly. This impeachment is ridiculous. Our president was asking for help with identifying corruption and getting to the bottom of it. THAT IS HIS JOB! He is for the people regardless of what the media and political left say.

In the 1990's kids were told not to ask questions that went against what was being taught and when they did they were silenced by the teachers. It has only gotten worse as schools implemented subject matter that should never have been in a school to begin with. Far to many kids are being told they have ADD/ADHD and pills shoved down their throats in order to keep them docile and complicit within the indoctrination process. The simple fact is many of those kids are just bored to death and need to be taught in a more interesting manner that they can grasp and understand.

As a canadian I'd have to thank Trump for killing the Trans Pacific Partnership, because NOBODY else was going to do that, NO party in Canada was going to do that. Here in Canada they couldn't WAIT to trample more democratic rights with another trade agreement.
As a canadian it was bizarre to watch as Trump reopened NAFTA, something NO canadian politician will even MENTION let alone Canada having been screwed over by the states far more than the US did by Mexico. And yet Trump reopened it and demanded Mexico pay its auto workers what Canada and the US were paying. NO canadian politician had ever said that, canadian politicians basically help pack the bags of any industries leaving the country. When the FTA was first signed, 30,000 muffler manufacturers were put out of work in a month.
And at those negotiations Canada wasn't even THERE. So how bizarre a world is it that your country gets its best trade negotations from the country that screwed us over, but from a president who is most certainly crazy. And here in Canada when he slapped the tariff on softwood the media and goverment went crazy on how bad Trump was for trade when EVERY person in canada knows damn well we pretty much GIVE our softwood lumber to the corporate license holders, so Trump was most certianly right.

Do you think their is a chance for diplomacy at that moment of the assault? When someone or a group of individuals in power violate the sanctity of human rights and human dignity and reasoning and diplomacy fail, what recourse is their? Let's take WWII for an example, is doing nothing better than defending a less powerful people because to do so would be considered "violence"? Would slavery still exist in this country without physical force? Is freeing enslaved people "violence"? People must stand up to tyranny or they would be enslaved or destroyed. To label every use of physical force as "violence" is reckless. Of course the use of physical force should always be avoided, and only be used as a last resort.

Under Biden I have truly lost all trust in our system not that I ever had much, and sadly I feel like the media has shamed themselves irreparably especially on the left. This is the first time in my life where I’m not proud to be an American. I’ve paid $51,000 in taxes so far this year and i seems like Russia to me or what I would think communism would feel like as I’ve never experienced it. @@67hundredthz If you pay 51.000 tax in the US you must have a huge income and at least have some 150.000 left to spend on yourself.
      Not bad, I'd say...
Biden has not had the time to change the tax code and if he does what he says, you and everyone else earning under 400.000 should be OK.
Nothing much has changed in the US till today in politics. simply because all energy and lots of money go to the pandemic.
The fake outrage is perpetuated by the usual suspects, FOX, OANN, Newsmax and their ilk.
My sons in Florida immediately blamed Biden for the hike in gas prices that occurred even before his inauguration.
True, the gas prices went up a lot, also in Europe where I live, in the UK and Canada and Australia and probably everywhere else in the world. All caused by a president that is not even in function?
There are at least 10 factors that determine the gas price at the pump. Covid disrupted the consumption and production of oil products, travel increased, oil price had gone from almost zero to a high level etc. etc.
Inflation increases too, all over the world.
Not good news for me, a pensioner with a net income of about 38.000 USD per year, after paying about 30% in taxes and of course I pay also VAT, tax on gasoline, real estate tax, watership fees, local taxes etc.
This income will not rise along with the rising inflation-driven cost of living. I don't whine like you though, because I understand that it's not the government or an American president that causes this. It's the f**ing OPEC, the big corporations in oil, pharma, food and tech that set the prices of almost everything we buy. Those corporations have way, way too much power, so when they want something done, they will get it, using their monopolies to extort governments in giving tax breaks, cheap labour, cheap raw materials and a license to pollute the world as much as they see fit to maximize teir profits.
Right and left wing politicians make only marginal changes to the system, on the fringes.
Clinton did very well for the economy of the rich and the country, but not for the working people. He presented a balanced budget for the firat time in a hundred years or so.
Bush made mess of the economy with his wars in the ME and the finacial crisis caused by the unregulated wolves and sharks in the banking system and Wall street.
Obama was presented with this heritage and was forced to spend tons of dollars to bail out banks and industries. People who couldn't pay their mortgage anymore were not bailed out..
Left and right, it's almost the same if you look at the results. Some shift money to the rich, some try to raise the minimum wage, or introduce affordable care, but in the end nothing of importance changes.
This is more or less the jest of the message of Roger Waters, whom I admire as a musician and songwriter.
I still remember the performance of Pink Floyd attended in Rotterdam, when I was much, much younger and just started as a Physics teacher at a High School...

When you say worked hard, in what job? Does your wife work too? Do you have parents who helped you out with some downpayments? Did they drive you to places growing up? How much did they help when you got older and did them or their friends help you out with finding a good job? Did you know the person or someone who worked at the place you work now before applying for the job? What about your wifes side of things, did her parents help too?
It's surprising really how much of a huge boost in life having the help of parents and friends can be. There are people working highly technical jobs right now living in their cars because the cost of an average rent is more than two thirds of their monthly income. They're house sharing 5 or more to a single 2-3 bed property. This is in California. And these people are programmers, vfx artist, game designers and software developers. It is absolutely obscene... And out in the red states there just aren't many jobs anymore. Maybe working in the mines or some factory but even so these jobs just don't pay the rent. And what's even worse is that job list websites have thousands of fake job listings for a number of reasons (artificially increase stock prices, hiring internally, legal obligation..) and they have just as many thousands of applicants per listing.
The job market is really awful and has been for so long now.
And with regards to my questions above, if you can answer yes to any of those then you are extremely fortunate because otherwise you would be competing with the vast majority out there with no edge.

If you’re in University you’re not a rebel.
Sycophantic behaviour from the presenter is sickening. Kim Catrall almost wretched when he said “I think thats a great answer”.

Actually he was. FIrst of all, britain is not the US. Back then university was paid for. So almost everybody went. In case you don't know about the sixties, the 'rebels' were most definitely in college even in the US, in fact MORESO in the US. So that is just wrong. Condescension is something else, certainly anybody who paid attention knows that almost half of voters voted Trump, thats a hell of a lot more than the homeless so that goes without saying. But if you have a specific argument of theirs then point it out, otherwise you are just condescending yourself.

I have never once heard anyone say that. Me thinks you heard someone say it on a right-wing source so, of course, you believe it. My condescension for you is rooted in your ignorance. Don't get me wrong, we are all ignorant to some degree, but if you are continuing to defend trump at this stage, well, the shoe fits.
That being said, Waters is way, way to confident that he has the only right answers. His shows reflect that. I do not like the overwhelming push of his viewpoint in his shows. Fine, write songs that make a statement, but lets dispense with the flying pig that tells us who to vote for.

Roger was / is a poet. Not really a political commentator, more an existential observer. I listened to the Final Cut today and the lyrics about the U.K. around the time of the Falklands conflict and Thatcher’s incumbency stand the test of time and still reflect society’s paranoia and fears in the 80s perfectly. When the album was produced, Gilmour and the band were getting tired of Roger’s anger and wanted to progress but felt they were stifled which lead to the breakup. Taken as art, there’s nothing hypocritical in the Waters’ albums. In the same way Barrett’s albums are works of genius in their own right, Animals, Dark Side, Wish You Were Here, The Wall - all fantastic pieces of musical production which need to be assessed on there own merits. Ultimately, Floyd were victims of their own successes and as individuals have tried to pay back what they think they owe to society e.g. Gilmour’s guitar auction and the proceeds going to charity and royalties for album sales being paid to Syd Barret while he was alive. Their hearts are in the right places but politics has changed so much since they were creating ‘concept’ albums. Polarisation of wealth is more pronounced now than the 70s / 80s, the music industry is unrecognisable. Everything has changed. We need to appreciate Pink Floyd’s recorded output for the immense musical soundscapes it created over time, the incredible lyrics and themes that resonate with listeners today, and how enigmatic appearances from Waters, Gilmour in interviews now, years after, just add to the enigma. There’s no point overanalysing any of it. Value it for what it is (or isn’t) and honour their freedom of speech today as it was in the day - make your own meanings but don’t accept anything as a truth - it’s art after all.

If he wins, it's unlikely to be by a landslide. He hasn't added new supporters and he has to hold on to the Obama voters that put him over the top in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan. He has the economy on his side, but not healthcare. I think the Dems will run heavily on healthcare like they did in the midterms.
