does anyone know who the saxophone player was in the hilltop hoods sessions?
Sadly not in the US :(
Just stumbled on this on Spotify in the US while listening to Hilltop Hoods on shuffle and it's not only an instant like from me, it just earned you a new CZcams follower. Looks like I've hit a goldmine here! :)
Dear lord, what a voice on that girl. She's awesome. And remember folks, it's a cover. They did it their way, and they did a great job.
Nyassa
Nyassa - what a voice. Wish there was more released by her.
I assume they've released more since then 🎉
The woman held the entire song up for me 💯
Nyassa
Why have I only found this now? Omg, my favourite band doing tribute to my favourite bands!! It doesn't get any better! Treasure.
I don't care what everyone here says, this cover rocks, great job
2:38-2:58 that guy put a lot of soul into that part I could really feel that..
I didn't know old mate could sing so good, like usually they do sing the chorus hook but it feels more like talking in key haha but this shows he really can sing, even more respect than I had before!
Wolfgang love your content bro
@@0St3wY0 cheers mate
He did it in a song for his son, since then he has really got the hang of it. Apparently it was hard for him.
What’s the name of that song mate?
@@WhozWolfgang though the dark
Omg her voice is so beautiful!! And she is beautiful too!! I am hooked!
The original is great and this is fantastic too. I love it!
It's a cover folks, get over it.
Since when has ANY cover/Like A Version sounded like the original? That's the point isn't it? 😉
Yeah but this sucks
I’m in love with this. Red Hot Chili Peppers has been my favorite band for literally ever. Then I made my way through to hilltop hoods, brainbox on repeat. This is amazing
Everyone: Aww the guitar tone isn't quite right or summit'
Me: Holy crap, those are real live horns
Those horns are sexxxxy
That Nyassa girl - small frame, bloody big voice!
people forgetting this is "Like A Version", they're not doing "like a remake". the band did a good arrangement of the medley. good vocal leads, amazing backup! a thumbs up for me
I knew someone else had to think this
Thumbs up solely for the hand clap in the chorus
This is way better than I thought it was going to be when I read what they were singing.
Makes you realise how good the original is.
No one can beat the original so it will always be better
LMFAOOOOO
I agree, but the problem isn't pressure and suffa. It's the bass, guitar and drums. THEY WERE ALL OUT OF TIME AT A POINT IN TIME.
@@nateffrench4640 When?
It’s not even that this is particularly bad... it’s just that the original is so good
Nyassa made this like a version, she was on point
Wow look at all the expert musicians here... the song was fine lol
Massive hilltop fan! Love this cover and love the dynamic with this cracking young lass.
Awesome cover!! Loved the woman who was singing your harmonies!! They were amazing 😍👌🏻
Out of tune guitar with 15 year old strings on playing through a line 6 spider amp, nice
its not out of tune. wrong pickup, wrong strumming pattern, poor pick attack
Lol and just bad lazy playing
@@skina101 i agree not out of tune in the guitar but i do believe he's playing a wrong note in there. a major 3rd that should be a minor. could be wrong but i feel like the main riff just sounds off besides poor guitar tone.
You’ve described my teenage years as a guitar player perfectly with that sentence
Gottem
love that they took a sudden turn into phil collins to visualize exactly what i think of every time i get to that part of can't stop
Here’s me thinking that Samuel L Jackson owned the entire Worlds supply of Kangol caps.
hahahaha this one got me laughing hard.
He missed one, ONLY ONE.
Love the overall vibe but wtf with the guitar
my fking god, the addition of In The Air Tonight caught me by surprise. 12/10
combining my two favourite music acts ever. Dream.
Loved this. Don't know why people don't like the guitar
Please, is somebody can tell me more about Nyassa ? More song ? Whitch band ? What a beautifull voice !
Even google can't find her ! Who is it possible ??
Guest vocalist - Nyassa, that is all.
Great version! Sad to see so many comments on here a negative. When doing a cover its good to put your own stamp on it. After all you don't want a clone of the original!
Man that Strat is really awful, Horns save it though
he didn't use the thumb for that "hendrix chords" and also the tone is so bad...
Well biggest problem of his sound is the lack of a tuner pedal lol
Zero punch
Honestly the effect really let me down
nothing can save this, two great songs murdered
they both really have awesome voices even when they're not rapping, not many rappers can actually sing (not taking a shot at rappers).
Just watched this with my partner as well and she even made the same comment before we even saw this. Damn true as well
illy can hold a tune, too
What a cover!!!!!!! Smashed it!!!! Well done!!!
The Phil Collins mash-up was spot-on!
Everyone is an expert on guitar tone now I see..
It's a shocking tone, stop acting like you know better.
I dont like your tone of voice William
As a guitarist and a sound engineer the tone was pretty off, yes parts can be difficult to recreate but still, if the dude had the right time these guys would've had a chance, some of these people seem like they've never played together either as the timing between them all can be slightly out through parts..
Absolute legends!
Awesome version. Everyone played and sang brilliantly.
I knew Pressure was going to do that bit well done.
GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nyassa is a BEAST 🔥
Singer and the horns carried big time
I adore this version
This is truely amazing!!!
Oh that's another level.!!!! Goosebumps people
Soooo awesome!!!! Don’t wait another 7 years to do this again please!!!!! South Aus is truly the best state!!!!!!!
I can't stop repeating this (pun not intended), don't understand the hate for this Version whatsoever!
Thanks for the inspiration. Go chilies!
I fucking love HTH! I love Pressure's little smirk at the start knowing he's going to kill this. Awesome version!
I can only hope to see you guys live, incl Naiassa x
Who is the lady with the voice of a goddess? Strong voice, loved it.
Nyassa
@@jamesf1185Only took 4 years to finally find out! Thanks my friend.
F'n nice. I love it when the like a version songs are popular classics
great to see hilltop hoods on trending!!!
Would have loved it if not for the guitar. The song is in a minor key but it plays the main riff with a major third. It sounded wrong every single time it played that main riff. And the tone.
What a shame cos some great vox here otherwise.
God damn it.. since you pointed that out I can’t un-hear it hahah
The key is E Minor (at least the original is). The third is G, the major third would be G#. The main riff uses the notes E, D, B and C. There is no G (or in your case G#)
2:38 WHY WOULD YOU FEEL THE NEED TO THIS
Vibing
Love this!
I love this!!
This is like if you took Can't Stop and exorcised the soul out of it.
lol the bass players my uni lecturer haha
what does he lecture?

No seriously his names Adam he's my band mentor at the Australian institute of music Sydney
Love the Hoods
Bloody good thanks
This was good.. then they added Phil Collins in it and made it so sick especially with that chicks voice going off while they go back into chilli peppers. Loved! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'm not a fan of Phil, but when songs inevitably share the same basslines, it's kinda hard to ignore the creative side of doing something like this
You nailed it @Alannah. Those low harmonies.... so on point.
You must lost your music taste
You need your head melon checked!
Can't believe I had to scroll through 50 comments to finally find someone addressing the Phil Collins line they've inserted in this cover. Brilliant
This cover is better than the original. The female vocalist is amazing. Love the jazz emphasis
awesome!
Just wow.
Beautiful 🙏❤🇦🇺
That was two of my favourite artists combine to one of my favourite songs in a way I would never have expected. So awesome!
I've never heard of these guys. But I seriously love the RHCP -- this was SO good. I'm a fan. For sure.
I love how other bands take songs and change it to thier style
i actually really like that sound of that strat...
At least I could understand this version! 🎉
The barbecue boys , hot snaggas hot hot snaggas in the backyard
Awesome!
Love it. I like the guitar tone too -- the clean guitar is pretty close to the tone JF uses in the early Chili Peppers renditions. The vocal harmonies are beautiful here by the way.
I love how the RHCP fans haven't seem to notice that the killer shot was a Phil Collins lyric
Hell yes Hill Top always step up too the plate for like a V, great job lads 👍🏼
Forgot to plug in the turntable?
Debris is doing a proper job, a little effect cuts here and there.... there's one shot where he's letting the record go and you can hear nothing, don't know what happend there though.
Check your hearing
it's not audible when you don't pay attention but the moment I read your comment, I listened to it closely and it's all audible.
WOW they did that 💕
Hoods are my favourite Aussie musos ever, I absolutely love it 😘😘😘even when I’m so sad 💖you guys YOU ROCK who’s that girl she’s 🎆🎆🎆
fire whoever did that vocal mix....
Other than the strat - this is dope!
Nyassa Featuring Hilltop Hoods
‘Yo Suff I can’t sing a tune but I can make a crowd bounce like bedsprings on a honeymoon’
Well he can do both now with great success!
Nice of em to give Wil Anderson a turn on the mike in the Phil Collins section.
Nailed it
OMG IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Instrumental is a bit weak but the singing was excellent, nyasa? Was solid and the cheeky Phil col was brilliant.
Nice version of this song 👍🏻
When you have to record a cover at 6am but spit at people and call them dog c**ts at the train station by 10am
Would've loved the verses being choppier/more staccato to contrast the highly harmonic chorus. Would've played so into HTH's skills.
Yeeeeeeeeee
Is that female singer part of the group? She's the best part of this video...
Some one help him adjust that mic stand he's going to get a bad neck
Said the internet person to the band who has been performing for over 20 years
it's also super rough on your vocal chords... hurts to watch!
@@jesscathcart i disagree. a slightly raised head is okay on the vocal cords. it can help diminish the effect of the digastric (swallowing) muscles. especially when attempting to pull up chest voice. (thyroarytenoid dominate phonation) i mean of course putting your head straight back is going to stretch things too much but his head is only slightly up...which is better than slightly down where you're actually compressing your cords. i'd love to hear if you have a different view on this subject however.
I'm kinda convinced Nyassa is singing 'hodor... Hhhoooooodddddoooorrrrr' and I love it! 😅
The backing vocals sometimes got in the way IMO. The sneaky Phil Collins worked well.
No the Phil Collins did not work well and it is not sneaky just untastefull
Not feeling it, fam. The air tonight was a nice touch though.
flying too close to the sun, in my opinion
I think it's great. I like the guitar tone and players style in particular. It makes the cover exactly what it is, different and interesting to hear.
Hard af
That is a strong voice pretty little woman right there!!
I really like Johns backup vocals, but the horns in this version add a lot more depth
