I can see Cobra Kai winning, much like Daniel won in his trilogy of the Karate Kid. This is a reverse story. I can see them making it so that Johnny actually has to be the one to take down Kreese, Barnes, and Silva, and Daniel helping him somehow.

What this show did amazingly in S1 is show that both sides are both right and wrong. How someone could go from being bullied to the one who bullies. And shows how easily history can repeat itself if you dont learn from your mistakes or if you dont fully move on from your past. 10/10 show thus far, but nowadays shows that have an amazing 1st season cant seem to recreate that magic in following seasons, so I hope that this second season is able to follow the first season's footsteps.
How does Daniel turn into a bully? Not really.
@@moonie9000 I wouldn't say he's necessary a bully since both Johnny and Daniel have a resentment for each other and try to mess with the other. However the most Johnny does to Daniel is graffiting the sign where as Daniel uses his influence to try to keep him banned from the tournament and tries to have him evicted. I think as the story progresses Johnny becomes more willing to let the past stay in the past where as Daniel still has a bone to pick with Johnny. That's why people see him as more of a bully.

A bit of a gray antagonist in season 1, but Daniel has always worked in the interest of protecting others and helping them be their best, even when he was in the wrong. He still sees Johnny as the person he was under Kreese's tutelage, and it is true that Johnny still holds onto some very damaging remnants of that philosophy. At the end of season 1, though, they _almost_ reconciled. So sad to see that go down the tubes. =( The villains are clearly in Cobra Kai in season 2, though. I'm just waiting to see what happens and hoping Johnny can stop them from destroying his Cobra Kai from within.

It's simple. It was made by people who *love and respect the original.* People who took its lessons to heart and want to teach those lessons to a new generation. People who didn't want to turn it into something completely different, but to extend it into something both fresh and yet similar. That's the same reason why people really liked the _Clone Wars_ show; both were made under the direction _of fans_ who just wanted to be a part of expanding the original. Reboots, remakes, and revivals can all work fine. It's when newcomers who don't give a crap about the original try to turn it into something different that they become bad.

People underestimated this show in the first season. I can't tell you how many people I convinced to give it a chance, who had seen the season 1 trailer and thought it was going to be a garbage show, and they ended up loving it.

I watched the first 2 eps and was like.."ehh" I gave it a shot but I couldn't get into it. I didn't watch ep 3 until a month later and I'm glad I did because the story gets good after ep 2 and I binge watched the rest of the season. Can't wait for the next season 👍

I like that Daniel isn't the clear "good guy" and Johnny isn't the clear "Bad guy". They are real people. Daniel vision is clouded when it comes to Cobra Kai and Johnny and Johnny is jealous that losing, in his eyes, cost him his future. I think with his sensai coming back Johnny will turn around and Daniel and him will come together and find balance. Can't wait for the season.

I think Kreese will influence Johnny to go back to the old ways and do things that go against his conscience. Johnny is going to be under Kreese's spell again for a while, but eventually he will snap out of it, but not until later in another season. The rivalry against Johnny and Daniel is what makes the show exciting. I think they will come together eventually, but not this soon. Not yet.
Well put. The trailer makes it seam like Johnny is the bad guy and Danial is the good guy. But if you watched the first season it could go either way with these two.

won't come out until they are close to finishing the show. They probably aren't because of covid unfortunatley. They like most movies and shows that would've premiered this year have been on hiatus. I'm so ready for this damn nightmare of a year to end. Hopefully by late fall the production will start up again so they can finish the show that maybe will come out early 2021?

Eddie Brock it’s not Daniel’s fault that Johnny’s life was messed up. Daniel beat him fair and square. Daniel’s life turned out good because of the lessons he learned from Miyagi. Daniel learned respect as well. There’s a reason why Johnny is conflicted. He knows Cobra Kai is wrong. As I said, you don’t hear any true martial artist talk about “no mercy.” My goodness, even Daniel said Johnny isn’t a monster and was a victim of a bad teacher.

Daniel winning is about integrity, finding your strength within, and building confidence. Johnny winning is about redemption, fighting back against cruel life, and finding yourself.
One of the best reboot/sequel series ever done for a classic film. Actually, probably the best. On par with the original films. Absolutely cannot wait!

That's because they didn't try to change the characters or start all over again, they took the existing characters and put them where they are today.
Rather than undoing all the past, they use it to fuel the future and they respect the characters and the fans of the original movies.

One of my favorite trailers. The music and Larusso’s line “I know how to beat Cobra Kai. I did it 30 years ago and I can do it again”.
I remember a year ago, some people were laughing at Cobra Kai. Saying it looked dumb and it was going to fail. They are now the biggest fans. lol.. This show is just pure 80's awesomeness! Every remake, every reboot, every sequel, every prequel, the fans have been let down... Cobra Kai is the ONLY one that not only lives up to the original, but goes beyond what the fans could ever expect. I grew up in the 80's. The Karate Kid is what got me into Karate. I even had The Karate Kid action figure. These stories are not just stories, they take me back to my childhood, when things didn't make sense, but all I had to do was listen to Mr. Miyagi talk to Daniel and somehow, it just made things better.
For real tho. I played the karate kid game that came out on the Nintendo and loved it. I've seen the movies. This show truly lives up to the originals and proves to the world that anything can be extremely different depending on the perspective.
This series is even better than the movies, though, it shows the characters as real people, not just stereotypes.

Loved Cobra Kai in season 1. I hope they continue with the idea that neither Johnny nor Daniel are complete good or bad guys. There were shades of gray.

Absolutely. The show was a lot more profound than the film. And some off Johnny's reactions to things like cyberbullying and girls learning karate were hilarious and awesomeand totally in character.

i really hope this doesn't turn into another 'cobra kai is evil' type of stoyline. They done so well to allow the audience to empathise with both sides in the first season, hope they can continue to do that in the next. I'm hoping Johnny and Daniel team up to get that bastard Creese.
