    I would love the boundary video and also if you do anything different for kiddos in respite vs placement. I’ve done respite mostly lately and it’s more like a fun time but think I should have more boundaries/rules.

    You are doing a great job. I'm sure the 1st few weeks will be tough but you will get there.

    I would love to hear about your household meetings and expectations being set. I would also love to hear how the girls are handling the transition of being in the same room together and new kids coming in. Also, are teens allowed to stay home alone as foster kids? What did the girls do when you had to do all the driving, visits, and shopping?

    You are amazing. Love your videos. Would love a video about boundaries with bio parents or how you navigate that when you first get a placement.

    Thank you so much for this video! Do you know of a place with a checklist of things you have to do when you get a placement? You mentioned doctors appointments and things like that (not putting your information down, never would've thought of that) and I haven't been told those things but my husband and I should be licensed to foster any day now so I'm worried about missing something!

      @HappyHoppe  Před 9 měsíci +2

      I don’t have a checklist, but that’s a good idea! That’s something I feel like DCS should give you as soon as they drop off a placement, but it’s almost like “ok, here are the kids. Ok, bye!” 🤪
      Make sure you get a placement letter as soon as they are dropped off with their Medicaid numbers. Ask about clothing voucher if your state does that. And then so as much as you can with them as far as appointments go (doctor, dentist, shots, eye doctor) because you never know how long they’ll be with you.
