    I want to tell you how much I appreciate you making the time to show how this is done I usually watch CZcams so that I can figure out how to do things on my own but after seeing all the work and the manpower it takes to do something like this I think I hundred percent support the idea of a business doing it over myself

    Just hook a chain to the piles and pull em, instead of using the claw and breaking the piles so you don't have to go back.

      Normally we run our pumps and wash the sand with the water up underneath there I could not get that one filled quite all the way so I set some additional pilings underneath of the slab to help support it from sinking any further.

    Looks great! quick question, how are you attaching your chain to the sheet to pick it up? I'm fairly new to using machines for setting walls and the guys I work for are old school and like to set by hand using a water jet and sledge hammer...trying to use machines a little more and save our backs lol. thanks for sharing!

      If you are jetting the sheets u should be good. If anything use the hammer head with a block on top to not damage the sheet. No need to swing a sledge if u have the hammer head. Just check level on each sheet and lag in as u go.

    Watched and enjoyed all your videos. Have one question for you: I live on the great Lake of Lake Ontario and was wondering how the vinyl sea walls would hold up to harsh winters , ice , moving ice , expansion and contraction with temperatures. Love the system, just unsure it's right for my region and climate . Eastern shore of Lake Ontario specifically.

      You'd be better off with something like an L8 galv sheet pile (or North American equivalent). Composite/Vinyl/Plastic piling has come along way but nothing like that likes deep heat cycles. Galv steel with a hardwood cap would be the best option depending on what you use it for.

    Cool video. How were the anchors attached to the wall? What did you backfill with?

    • @DaleWHickman
      @DaleWHickman  Před 3 lety

      Thanks for your comment the anchors are five eights type 316 stainless steel that are drilled all the way through the wall and on the water side we have 1/4“ x 3 x 3 stainless steel plate with a stainless nut attached. The backfill is a sandy feel which allows the water to move freely through the soil back through the wall after a high tide.

      Thanks for your comments the hose is connected to a 3 inch pump. We use a 1”1/2 aluminum pipe which we referred to as a jet pipe this puts out some good water pressure when you put it in the sand it actually moves the sand and allows you to install the vinyl sheet pilings. Similar to sticking a garden hose in the ground you could see that it digs a little hole.
