      Around early mid game in the storyline he dropped them carelessly but before the ragnarok battle he hung them up in his tent. At first I’m sure he hated them but due to brok saying about form and nature of a thing he changed his perspective on the blades. After defeating the berserker King he said the blades of chaos story is still being written and is up to others whether they see the blades as good or bad.

      yeah but it also gets to show how tired he is, while he does show the ax more care, he still has it flop out of his hands onto the barrel instead of putting it down purposefully. He's exhausted.

    • @Crow__007
      @Crow__007 Před 8 měsíci +12

      The axe represents this new life Kratos is living, one completely different from his life in Greece. The blades represent his servitude to Ares, all the innocent lives he took. The same weapon that killed Calliope and his first wife. He hates the blades, he even tried getting rid of them but they came back. The axe was a gift from his loving wife, the woman who saved him when he was at his worst. The blades were gifted to a much younger Kratos who became a slave to some asshole god that tricked him into killing his own family. So yeah, he definitely treats that axe gently. He cares about it. But he hates the blades, and is unfortunately stuck with them. He also has the chain scars on his arms still, a permanent reminder of what he did.

      Odin likely knew but he also was likely talking about different kind of worship as kratos wasn’t really “loved” more “fear” during his time as the god of war, Spartan only like him since he on their side and gave a huge advantage, meanwhile others and the gods included hated him as he brought chaos and disorder to the land,. It more that Odin jabbing the fact Kratos wasn’t really a respected god and was dude who messed with the order of land. as big of the Dicks the other greek gods were they didn’t like straight up fuck with the other land and people straight up like Kratos/Ares did. Or deny other people their gift and power like for example Helio didn’t only grant sunlight to his worshipper and still provided it to the whole world for example or Hades wasn’t going be Bias deny you Elysium cause you were from Sparta or Athens.

    • @attackhelicopter588

      Mmmmm. He had followers in Sparta and it makes total sense he was already a general inspiring undying loyalty in his men and now the greatest general sparta has seen became the God of war leading sparta to glory. Imagine your general being a literal deity of war. But outside of sparta I don't think be was worshipped. Feared perhaps.

    • @beentheredonethat5908
      @beentheredonethat5908 Před 4 měsíci

      @@attackhelicopter588The gid of war was worshipped across all of ancient lands. Greece, Roman, Africa, Asia all feared and respected the god of war. He had a dedicated priesthood, the god of war didn't always want war either, he would demand negotiations and peace first, but when the temple doors opened , he would release war and power upon the people and warriors. Sparta had the "home" of the god of war, as Spartans were his children , believed to come from an offspring of his very loins, so when Sparta went to war, no one could stand before them, and a soldier would rather die then return from a lost battle or without his men, they truly believe return with your shield on upon it, each man didn't fight for himself , he protected his brothers on his right and left, if one didn't return , they didn't return , the Shame on him and his family would last generations, they'd be outcast, hair shaved off, clothes ans property taken , children killed , and wife sold into slavery. Spartans didn't play with war or death, a coward would not be suffered to live or to spread their seeds to carry the coward gene. A warrior must have at meast one son, until then they weren't allowed to enter battle, to ensure that Sparta had sons and daughters from each line carry into the future, it was actually a law, as many Spartans practiced homosexuality , and truly loved the men they fought wuth , trained with, and lived with, as men only visited home, but lived in the barrics with the men they had been with since childhood , so they were forced to marry and have sons and daughters or Sparta would have quickly died out from pure lack of children and war.

    'Tyr' Odin's reveal was actually meant to be very different. Recall Mimir's scene with the apparatus, and Sindri talking about his 'Bifrost eyes'... Tyr has those exact same eyes. Two things I love the most about Brok's death scene are:
    - His simple and direct way of thinking was enough to keep him out of Odin's web of lies. He didn't chase the little details like everyone which distracted them from realizing that it was off that "Tyr" suddenly had a change of heart about going to war just because of a mask NOBODY knows what it even does.
    - at 39:45 the Fire in the background represents Brok's state, it becomes less prominent as Brok's life fades away. After Sindri vanishes the fire no longer glows in the darkness

    It made me realize just how.... Tired Kratos is.
    I could feel it on him. That exhaustion after everything. That wondering. That sorrow. Regret.
    Maybe its because I have gone through with Kratos from the first god of war to the third, and seen the results of the spin-offs. I have followed this man for nearly 20 years through games and other media in that sense. Seen his story start, and come to a close in the Greek pantheon. And known, he has not only changed.

You could argue Thor had that with thrudd, magni, modi, and did but Thor’s always drunk. And of course, the Greek pantheon was anything but family(except for hades). I just appreciate how significant scenes with these two are as it breaks the cycle of gods fearing their children and wanting to kill them to keep their power. Kratos does this by simply showing unconditional love for atreus.

    Anyone notices that fake Tyr never holds a weapon? I think it's more than just for the disguise, it feels like Odin cannot fight while using the disguise as it would break the spell. Even when he revealed himself it was undone the exact moment he stabbed Brok. He would have gained at least a moment of confusion and chaos if he kept his Tyr disguise after he stabbed him but I think the spell unraveled as soon as he grabbed the knife.

    What I enjoy most about the Lady of the Forge scene, is how when she takes Kratos’ blood, she sees the symbol of the god of war and seems like she frowns, almost as if she isn’t happy with that. She wants the nature of something, not the form. Hence why she’s content when it switches to a lambda, Kratos’ true nature. It’s a brilliant fucking scene, as it served as a little pay off to Brok’s earlier comment when capturing the sound of wind

    • @herpderp3916
      @herpderp3916 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Definitely. It looks like tongs or pliers, which can be easily used as torture weapons. That whole scene was Odin trying to manipulate and intimidate Kratos while keeping up a facade of wanting peace, and Kratos not buying his BS for one second. As Heimdall learned the hard way, you *never* threaten Atreus in front of Kratos.

      I think she's basically just using his blood to see his history. She frowns at the omega symbol, which represents Kratos as the god of war, but approves of the second symbol--his mark as a general. It's leadership, not wrath, that she chooses to imbue the spear with.

    I think I finally understand what happened with the Lady and Kratos' blood. She's using his blood to mold the spear in his image. What does Kratos' blood say about him? That he was a god of war; but no, before that he was a Spartan. That's who he is, that's the one part of him he's proud of, his Spartan heritage. So that's what she goes with to put the final touch to Draupnir.

    • @blacksabbath5300
      @blacksabbath5300 Před 9 měsíci +16

      If she used it as the blood of the god of war, it probably would’ve been chained to him. But as a proud spartan? I’ll be damned if that didn’t make the spear look like a beautiful piece of work.
