  • Northwestern University hosted Jamie S. Lin, MD, FASN Assistant Professor of Medicine (Nephrology) atthe University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, as part of the Renal Grand Rounds.
Jamie presented the talk "ImmuneCheckpointt inhibitor-associated Nephritis: Epidemiology, Management, and Surveillancee" with key takeaways:
    1. The spectrum of injury in immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI)-nephrotoxicity is broad and can include: acute interstitial nephritis (AIN), acute tubular injury, glomerulonephritis/vasculitis, and electrolyte disturbances
    2. Infliximab, a monoclonal antibody targeting TNF alpha, can be used as second-line therapy for difficult-to-manage AIN cases.
    3. Less than 25% of patients with a diagnosis of ICI-associated AIN will redevelop AIN following ICI therapy re-challenge.
