Can't help but think about the famous "back pain doctor" - Dr. John Sarno who wrote books on the mind/body connection during his 60+ years of practicing medicine. As you gentlemen both know, he made a profound contribution to this "non-conventional" (but very conventional to folks like us listening to this podcast) way of treating patients. Pain in the body is a symptom of psychological distress. It just makes so much sense. Thank you both for this enlightening conversation this evening!
I love the connection aspect between the doctor and the patient. So important!❤️
When l was dealing with panic attacks, Prozac was the drug of choice. To me it can only 'mask' the problem.l refuse to do that. I used natural remedies.
Wow. Had to chime in again. Dr. Rangan and Weil articulate their question and answers with so much ease. Both seem to be finishing each other’s sentences. Great debate!
I recognize
Dr. Andrew Weil is the Premier Dr. And PHYSICIAN of this age.💕👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💕
The pain you feel today will be the strength you feel tomorrow 💪💪💪💪
Stage 4 cancer pain?
@@Vyewalker hey. How are you today?
@@JoJo-xz5rb good, thanks. You?
@@Vyewalker I'm good thanks. Although I'm having a test to see if I have Lyme disease on Monday. Iv been not been too well of late, since I came back from Africa
I love hearing Dr Weil talk about decreasing inflammation and the nervous system through breath work!! My system of Neuroanatomical training Zen57 is exactly that!!
Removing anxiety through the physical body and breath work
Some doctors are ego driven and like the comment open mind and open heart combined with sincere desire to heal and help individuals is why these two doctors are authentic and humble enough to research all healing modalities 💫
The last 1/8 of this podcast is so, so superbly accurate and valuable-- simply wonderful. Thank you!
1:05 is the start of the 5 necessity steps to long term health...just saying.
Dr Rangan is doing a fantabulous Job, great content on youtube
I love how he got to it straight away. It didn't take half the video to explain the 478 treatment. 🔥🔥
I love this. Dr. Andrew weil is awesome . Thank you both for this great video, mind/body healing medicine. ❤

Excellent show thank you! Valuable information. I have a question. I have never enjoyed reading because I have trouble focusing but enjoy learning through videos and listening to podcasts. Is that just as good for the brain as reading?
EXCELLENT THANK YOU ..
I have been doing the breath exercise and it has helped me. Just one thing, Dr Weil doesn't say how fast or slowly we are suppose to count. I find myself often counting faster during the holding and releasing breath than when inhaling.
Good interview/discussion!
Absolute common sense.
From Yorkshire England thank you
11:20 agreed ..... A lot of the MD's are closed minded ..I agree too . The group where they work in will do that to them.... !
Awesome video . Thank you both . 🙏
Great 🙏
Wait! How old is this video? I see it has been posted 3 months ago. If this is recent Dr.Weil looks like he is aging backwards. He looks so good. I knew about him about 20 years ago. I would have been look good too if I took his advice back then. Damn!
NICE BEARD DR WEIL!
THANKS BOTH OF YOU FOR THE LESSONS LEARNED.
✌🏾💚🌺☮️💟
Very interesting.
What an awesome interview. Great job and well said from both
Very cool. Enjoyed the entire video
What are the 5 things?
Nutrition, exercise, reduced stress, sleep & friends
What about consuming a moderate amount of organic canola oil for example, for its omega-6 benefits and other health giving properties?
Love this so ❤😊
1:59:17 Good advices till the end👍🏻
It is hard to develop a connection when the physicians are told how much time they are allotted per patient. It is usually less than 10 minutes and if they consistently break that rule they are reprimanded.
I can only speak for myself and I would welcome my doctor to talk over with me alternatives to just talking pills. I am over whelmed with so much conflicting information that is on the net about all sorts of things that I wouldn't know what to trust, I am a firm believer of trying to help yourself but we're do you start if there is no one to teach you about all the lies.I would change my diet if I knew what would help me.
If you eat fresh food and no processed food you can't go wrong ☺️
Regular exercise helps a lot. And being outside in nature.

If anyone can help me with what are these 5 steps ? Thank you in advance.
Nutrition, good sleep, exercise, reduced stress, friend.
you talked about treating the symptoms and ignoring the causes resulting in an overproduction of the symptoms when you remove the medication
in this light is there a way to safely get off sotalol for AFib and instead use magnesium or some other natural methods to treat that condition ?
this assumes there is nothing physically wrong with the electrical system of the heart
#Dr Rangan Chatterjee PLEASE i need your advice!!!! i m 26, about a year ago i started to have hypertension, for almost every day since than... i have no chronic diseases.... i am a smoker about a pack a day, BUT i know and i am pretty sure that my hypertension is due to stress! please give me advice what to do .... and the most interesting part is that, shortly after i eat something(no matter what) about in 5-10 minutes my pulse goes up (110-130 bpm) and blood pressure also goes up :( i dont want to start antihypertension drugs, please tell me what to do

Nonsense. That is why they are called DREAMERS.

Hi Andrew and Rangan. I'm just listening to this and I e been on Esomeprazole for years, like you said repeat prescription. I've never been reviewed and I'd love to stop taking it. I've started doing a Mediterranean diet 2 weeks ago as I've a lot of inflammation in joints/tendons and also skin issues but the Esomeprazole was given as Ive had a hiatus hernia for 35 years and an ulcer about 10 years ago but I'd really appreciate some dietry advice or just any advice really on how to come off it without being in pain with over production of acid. Kind Regards Helen 🙏
i kno me to hernia omperozole exact same thing how can we heal this natural if h kno let me kno if u find out any thing ty
@@kiorapakenham1239 no worries, still taking them sadly 😔
Or you can put two (or as many as you need) sturdy objects of the same size, or piles of strong books, under the feet of the Top of your bed, or couch. This will create a slant that may also be enough to discourage your stomach contents from causing pain.
@solarhydrowind I'm still on esomeprazole a d Sri putting weight on instead of taking g it off 😥 I work 12 hour nightshifts 3 or 4 a week for the last 4 years a d my duet and exercise regime is very poor as I'm always tired, I'm 58 coming 59 and really do t want to be overweight but do y have the motivation or e ergy to get fit and lose weight. Its a catch22 situation...
helensimpson I lost and kept off excess weight by not eating much sugar or candy or high calorie beverages and very few baked goods. But when, after 2 1/2 years or so, I started eating those sugared and/or high calorie foods again, I very slowly gained it back ~~~ 5 pounds back on my body every 6 months or so.
Is there any way the adverts can all be at the beginning or end? I like to listen while relaxing but the endless adverts mean I must keep getting up to skip forward and there are so many here. Ultimately, I gave up (at only 38 minutes) on an interesting conversation, which is a shame. I'm not sure why there are more than normal (I think) perhaps the adverts fund the channel, which I understand, but perhaps there is another way of doing it?
You could consider getting CZcams premium 👌

@@Anthony-wr2sm that is a wise move indeed. Would you be kind enough to recommend one add blocker please thank you stay blessed 😇
Personally, whole foods is the solution to GI issues, not hypnosis. Grandma lived to 107 because of what she ate, not hypnosis.
Apologies for my opinion.
I think you are right in terms of whole food being the solution to GI issues. It is also true that digestive disorders are either started or aggravated by stress. In so many words, being stuck in a parasympathetic state means the digestive system is not getting the blood flow needed to both heal and digest properly. Having myself switched to whole foods and no processed food 4 years ago, I saw a huge difference. However when I added the 4-7-8 breathing which put me out of the chronic stress response, and into the rest and digests state the benefits of the whole food and my ability to digest was noticeably greater.
Did anyone found the 5 steps? 2 hours seems tooo looong!
Nutrition, exercise, reduced stress, good sleep & get good friends
I just realized how difficult it is to breath in through your nose for 4 seconds lol .

It says allot about big-pharma when just breathing right is more effective than their anti-depressant drugs.
