    Can't help but think about the famous "back pain doctor" - Dr. John Sarno who wrote books on the mind/body connection during his 60+ years of practicing medicine. As you gentlemen both know, he made a profound contribution to this "non-conventional" (but very conventional to folks like us listening to this podcast) way of treating patients. Pain in the body is a symptom of psychological distress. It just makes so much sense. Thank you both for this enlightening conversation this evening!

Ultimately, I gave up (at only 38 minutes) on an interesting conversation, which is a shame. • @ma5953
      @ma5953 Před 2 lety

      I think you are right in terms of whole food being the solution to GI issues. It is also true that digestive disorders are either started or aggravated by stress. In so many words, being stuck in a parasympathetic state means the digestive system is not getting the blood flow needed to both heal and digest properly. Having myself switched to whole foods and no processed food 4 years ago, I saw a huge difference. However when I added the 4-7-8 breathing which put me out of the chronic stress response, and into the rest and digests state the benefits of the whole food and my ability to digest was noticeably greater.
