- Whether it's mechanical or quartz, hailing from Japan, Germany, Switzerland, a luxury brand, or a a micro brand, I'm open to giving almost any watch a chance to make its mark. Fashion brands excluded, of course. If a watch impresses me, I won't hesitate to add it to my collection. So, while I acknowledge that some enthusiasts may scoff at quartz movements, and others might insist Swiss watches are the only way to go, I'm here to tell you that you might be missing out. Why? because the Casio Oceanus OCW S100 is a fantastic watch. And not just for the money but outright.

Good morning Elle - more great and informative content and entertaining as always. I also own an Oceanus timepiece... The "Wave Ceptor Titanium" - Model DCW-110TDA. I love the way the watch looks and really wish I could give it some wrist time. Would be a great "grab and go" and is pretty good looking to boot. One problem - apparently I am too dumb to figure out how to set the thing... (I cannot even get the date to set) Nope - not kidding... And, I have been thru the owners manual too many times and tried to find a CZcams video for assistance. There was one video that actually offered some information and that has not even helped. The kicker is I also took the watch to my local AD and they had for over a week....... They cannot figure it out either... So - perhaps I am not a complete idiot and I think "tech" is not helping. The "auto-set" feature sort of works but always sets the time to one hour ahead of where I live and does nothing to the date. Not optimal..... So - here I sit. Maybe I will just sell the thing to someone smarter than I am or who lives in a country where the "radio-whatever" will work. Anyway, I digress. GREAT video Elle and enjoy the Christmas Season. Make lots of $$$ at your restaurant - it is that time of year! I am assuming one of your Subscribers may be able to offer some advice on my wayward watch - of just assume I really am too dumb to bother and leave it at that. Best to you madam!!!
God morning to you to. Yes, too much tech is a problem with some watches and it sounds like your model might have crossed that line.
I'll tell you what I will pin this/your comment at the top of my comments section so that it is first seen and maybe someone will know how to address your problem.
And I just want to say thank you again for all the support and generosity.
Elle
@@elizabeth_grant Thanks Elle - maybe this is why this model has been discontinued..... ; ))) Take good care my friend in watches!
Had 2 Citizen eco-drives(same kind) that were/are confusing to set,and those are chronographs!
@@johnsanabria3279 Thanks John - I may send the watch back to Casio. Since my AD tried to set the watch for over a week - maybe there really is something wrong with the watch. We will see. Thanks again for the note Sir...
@@manwithclass09 You're quite welcome!
Is it really that hard for Casio to sell this treasure to the rest of the world instead of just Japan?
The older and busier I get, the more I wear quartz watches. The first watch I bought was a Casio and I’m betting the last one I buy will be a Casio too.
I’m on a hunt for this one (found it 2nd hand for 380€) and collecting some info about it. Have to admit, your video was the last I clicked on because of prejudice. Saw the tumbnail with blonde made me think there will be some squeaky sale lady masked as reviewer.
I was wrong.
Unbiased review, not too long, with clear pros and cons of the watch. Great!
Got yourself a new subscriber. 💪
If I am not mistaken, the S100 has been in production for over 10 years. I saw some videos on this model dated 10 years ago. Impressive. I like the Oceanus so much that after getting the S100, I got the T200 n retire my rolexes. Both the S100 n T200 are my go to watch.
*and retired
Elizabeth, Check out the Casio Oceanus OCW-T150-1AJF. It's a close sibling to the OCW-S100, but with the following differences:
1) The face is different (the hands are very close to the same).
2) The T150 has a black date wheel with white numbers, the S100 has a white date wheel with black numbers.
3) The movements are twins (but not identical twins) of each other. The hands move to different points on the dial for the timekeeping setting functions, but otherwise they're the same. The Casio instruction manual for the S100's 5235 movement and the T150's 5414 movement is the SAME manual.
4) The T150's bracelet can be set to one of 3 positions simply by squeezing the two release buttons on the clasp and moving the clasp. No visible holes - Very slick!
I have both the S100 and the T150. They're both titanium case and bracelet, both have sapphire crystals, both have identical radio control. I find myself wearing either the S100 or the T150 at random - but I have a slight preference for the T150.
The T150 is far rarer in the watch community than the S100, but is absolutely worth consideration.
I'll check it out.
Thank you for the info as I am looking at this watch now , I prefer the black dial .
Just recently purchased one and it hasn't left the wrist since. With all of it's features, accuracy, finishing and the fact that it's so lightweight made it a no brainer for me.
I concur wholeheartedly! Proud OCW-T200SLE-2AJR (mid-blue, on leather) owner here.
Quartz is awesome, and solar-powered, atomic time sync is just epic.
FYI: it's not time synced via a satellite (other Oceanus watches can do that), but via the (atomic clock) time signal broadcast by a selection of terrestrial radio towers, covering most of (but not all) of the globe.
Then why do I have to wait for certain times of day for the watch to update?
@@elizabeth_grant It's pre-programmed to do so, using local (night) times to maximise the opportunity of receiving an uninterrupted signal (less radio signal 'noise' compared to day time syncs). But you can always force a time sync at any time you think you need it. You can also sync using Casio's Bluetooth app. Attempting to sync all the time would rapidly drain the battery
@@elizabeth_grant I don't have this particular Oceanus, but all the Casio radio watches have a way to force the update. The update is most likely to succeed if you're not wearing the watch and it's somewhere in the house facing in the direction towards the transmitter (Fort Collins, CO in the US), and that's most likely to happen at night.
Huge props for picking out the Oceanus! Definitely not the obvious choice from casio land.
This has watch has become a fan fav for a lot of people great to see the amount of love that it's getting also love the blue dial.
Great review. The only item you mentioned was the method used by the Oceanus s100 to update the time and date each day. The s100 uses the signal from one of the Atomic clocks located around the World. The clock for North America is in Fort Collins CO. The click uses am radio signals - not satellite signals.
Mine just arrived. I am very impressed with it so far. Great video!
The S100 is old technology for Oceanus. You should get current models and then review those, too. The current Oceanus watches are, indeed, finished with Zaratsu polishing as explained in the Oceanus phone app, [January 5, 2022 "...The case and band are polished using the "Zaratsu" polishing technique, which is considered the pinnacle of polishing technology. The polish is carefully applied by craftsmen to achieve a highly smooth and beautiful shine." ] Also from the app, ["Premium Production Line Certificate "This certificate proves that this watch is a product assembled on the Premium Production Line, on which only exclusive skills testing medalists within Yamagata Casio (Japan) are allowed to work."]
I own the OCW T-200, S5000 Manta, and the P2000 Cachalot. All magnificent watches. By the way, I learned about Oceanus via Shabazz, too.
Another great informative video Elizabeth. Very well presented and produced. The review was also very well articulated with the right information and the good and could do better areas. Like you I'm happy to wear a quartz and even digital watches along side Swiss or German mechanical items. They all have there different uses. I actually use a G-Shock solar square to set my mechanical watches accurately. It's OK for people to go for either battery or mechanical watches only but they could be missing out on some great watches like the Oceanus. I guess we're all different and that's why the hobby is so much fun..
I'm so happy I found your channel!
Me too!!
My first JDM purchase was this exact watch a few months ago. Ticks all of the boxes I was looking for - titanium, solar powered, accurate af thanks to brilliant tech, and astounding finishing for the price especially considering the fact titanium's harder to work with than steel. Only downside is it's made most of my collection useless and unworn as a result - after spending an hour figuring out how to set it up, of course! Great video as always!
Good choice!
@@elizabeth_grant should I buy this or a Citizen PCAT?
Hi Elizabeth! I own this watch and agree with everything you said. Absolutely spot on. I saw your Grant Stone Brass Boots video (own those as well), and you nailed it once again. I’ll have to watch more of your videos. You are a very knowledgeable young lady!
I purchased mine last year, and use it as my back up travel watch... it's never let me down. Great video!
Good choice!
This range from Casio is slowly gaining recognition outside of Japan, and with good reason. Great to see another review of this lineup, Elizabeth.I purchased the blue dial OCWT3000 reviewed by Nick last year. STUNNING timepiece from top to bottom. The finishing on the titanium case and bracelet is Grand Seiko level, the crystal is the best piece of glass I have ever seen (through) on a watch (in my limited experience). Sure, there is probably a bit much going on in the dial. The motors are blindingly quick, after the watch goes into sleep mode, then opening the watch case they whir into life, a few seconds later and we are good to go. By far the best value of the SUB $700 Oceanus models IMHO. Can't recommend this watch highly enough. A significantly more expensive quartz Tag Heuer comes a very poor second to my Oceanus, in every way.
Another cracking production and Casio content Elizabeth. If its between this and a grand seiko quartz, this knocks it out of the park for value and Casio massive heritage makes up for the GS prestige. Keep the vids coming El 👍
Elisabeth, the sync of the hour is done with an atomic clock radio signal, not a satellite reception system... Thanks!
Ahhh Elizabeth, now you've brought the Oceanus into my radar. I like the looks, I love the tech. And the Bluetooth connectivity of the T200 models makes setting the time so simple! Love the hibernation mode. BTW I bought the Grand Seiko Heritage Quartz Seth the silver dial one. It's the base GS - it's great value, I'm retired & on a fixed income.
Enjoy!
You're right, this is all you'll ever need in a watch. You remind me of myself when i was your age. Now, many years later, i can't open a bloody cupboard in my house without watches falling out. This hobby becomes an addiction where you buy your dream watch and your satisfied for a month or so..........And then, you see the "NEXT ONE!" lol.
I have a lot of lovely mechanical watches but my quartz watches get the most wrist time because I don’t have to set them before I wear them as I’m always rotating my collection. My favorite quartz is my dad’s old Omega SMP midsize.
Elizabeth, you’re brilliant. Thank you for doing what you do. Another superb video. Chapeau 🎩
I've had one of these for a few years now and discovered it speaks perfectly to my (not so inner) OCD traits! I LOVE knowing it "syncs" daily and therefore is always accurate -- much better than the big $$$ hyper accurate watches or a reasonably accurate automatic/ mechanical.
Oh damn, I think I need this watch now! Nice polished review, subbed!
The S100 was my first JDM purchase. It was about three to four years ago and I can;t recall what prompted me to select this particular model. More than likely a video review s well . I had the added bonus of Canadian duty and taxes added on to the price so it was a big spend for a quartz but it will probably remain a permanent fixture in my collection. There's just so much to like about it. . It is a shame about the bracelet though. This thing would definitely be a strap monster.
Yes it would be nice to be able to mic it up with different straps.
Nice shepherd. Looks like mine. I got the Oceanus Manta with the purple and blue bezel and the black mother of pearl dial. Under normal light it just looks black but in sunlight looks insanely cool. Love it.
I'm afraid to buy an Oceanus, because it may be the last one I ever need. But I live in Japan, and always look at them at the local watch shop, so I know I will cave eventually.
Great video. I would highly recommend checking out the Oceanus T200. It addresses some complaints (like having a removable bracelet) while adding new features in a well-done steel finishing
Thanks for the tip!
Yep, I first learned of this watch through Nicky boy. TGV is the best in the biz, he got me into watches as well. We're in good company.
Cheers
I am a new subscriber to your channel and just getting used to your style, but already I am loving the attitude you display. Many reviewers have a hard time expressing any emotion at all or worse, they just seem to be faking it. Like the ones where you want to suggest they go with decaf from now on. Your observations about the bracelet are 100% spot on. I detest integrated bracelets for several reasons not the least of which is variety. I currently have several different straps for all of my "go to" watches and switch them up depending upon my mood, what I'm wearing, etc. That's one of the benefits of most watches. Casio has made that not impossible, but considerably more challenging for sure.
Calm down Chad
I have currently been collectin watches for something like 15+ years and have become kind of a watch snob during that time, I currently own a Rolex Submariner 16040, Rolex Day-Date 18038, Breitling Navitimer 806, Breitling Navitimer World (2014), Omega Seamaster (Seachero from 1957), Tudor Oyster-Prince from 1965, Eterna KonTiki 20 from 1969 and a vintage Zenith dress watch from the 1960's. At the moment the whole collection is 100% Swiss made and only mechanical movements, I once in a while try other brands and in some cases also quartz but for some reason I sell or trade them. I also put a lot of thaught in my collection to try to keep it in a certain way and to buy watches that I know that I can get a profit on or at least get my money back. The only more affordable watches I enjoy at the moment is vintage Omega, Zenith, Eterna and other Swiss brands.
The Oceanus looks like a good watch but not my kind of watch.
Keep up the good videos :)
I'm with you when it comes to country of origin for a watch. I don't care. I once was a mechanical movement, Swiss made snob but not any more. I am a fairly OCD type of person and I like my watches to be accurate and needing little attention for adjustment. I own a 45 year old Seiko quartz which I received from my father for my 21st. Now, I still wear that watch from time to time. The accuracy remains spot on to within 1 or 2 seconds per month. Outstanding. I cannot think of a mechanical watch that can do the same. I am a fan of Citizen, Casio and Seiko. Citizen make the most accurate watch to within 5 seconds per year. Seiko is a close second and Casio use radio or bluetooth technology to maintain an accurate time. Show me any Swiss made watch, mechanical or quartz, that can achieve that feat. The most expensive Seiko or Citizen is only a fraction of the cost of many Swiss made watches. I am converted to quartz but will still buy a mechanical if tempted.
Funny to hear a Nick Shabaz reference. He was my go to knife review guy who ventured into watches all the while telling us “do not get into watches!”. Well, I didn’t listen and here I am.
I love radio controlled quartz ! I have even seen GPS controlled ones from citizen. Even though I love my mechanical watches there are times I just need to grab one from the box.
The Casio Lineage collection is exceptional value : sapphire crystal, solar charging, multi multiband 6, ana-digi display, feature packed. Worth a look & review. The LIW-M700D-1AJF is spectacular
Cool, thanks! I should definitely check it out.
@@elizabeth_grant discovery mall Japan, online shop. Or Amazon or ebay. Depending on your budget
I've been contemplating one of these. I love my Citizen ProMaster Land with the titanium case/bracelet, eco drive with perpetual calendar, it's one of those close to perfect watches and with this, they would compliment each other....
Sounds like a good combo.
I just bought a Citizen Promaster Land AT6080-53L two months ago and I haven't worn another watch since. I was torn between the citizen and this oceanus but the integrated bracelet was the dealbreaker (might buy one in the not so distant future though 😁)
@@gijssmets Yeah, I'm a big fan of this watch! Love the blue dial, though it would look better IMHO if it had the yellow second hand like on the green dial version; I think it would compliment the blue quite nicely.
I'm afraid that integrated-bracelet is a deal-breaker for me...
THANKS TO ELLE AND ALL WHO HAVE TRIED TO ASSIST..... Very kind and gives restores some level of my faith regarding the Season of Giving! But - I think this watch is not worth all the time and bother and I should just sell to someone at a huge discount in the hopes someone else may enjoy her. I have too many watches that I have no problems with at all and maybe it's time to move on. But - thanks again so much to anyone who offered advice and made the attempt to offer some assistance. Goon on you and thanks so much!
Well done,just subbed.
Great watch and well done on a epic collection
I considered getting one but it's a couple of mm above the size I prefer. Pity.
There is no perfect watch, there is always something.
Loved the review, you have a new sub ❤
This is the single best watch review I have ever seen on CZcams! Super glad I found out about you from Illuminating Watches
Lol.. “zaratsu polishing” is nothing but BS marketing. Don’t drink the koolaid
@@whereRbearsTeeth Watches in general are BS marketing. Lighten up.
Looks really nice! I’d love to see your opinion on the Seiko Turtle :)
Adjust stumbled across your channel. I wear watches because mostly what I want to know when I'm out in public is what time it is. Another reason I wear watches is so I can keep my phone in my pocket. I grow weary with trying to talk to people in public who are constantly staring at their phone and I don't want to be one of those people anymore. Not saying my phone's not useful I'm just saying when I'm out and about a watch is the proper thing to have
Love your videos, great content and production value. I put your channel is in the same folder as the ones of TGV, Jody, Ben and Russell.
Wow, thanks!
I own a Briefing Casio Oceanus limited edition. It's one of my favorite watches in my collection. I have yet to find a better sapphire crystal.
Thanks for this review. I was stuck between the new Citizen Forza salmon dial integrated bracelet titanium thing and this watch and I went with the Citizen. Not because of the review, I tried on a T100 Oceanus that's in the same case and it just wore too big. Very nice watch, honestly these Oceanus' are the best value for the money watches on the planet. But I wouldn't have made my decision without your help so thanks.
My only quartz watch is a traser p66 with tritium lume. Great beater watch.
Definitely adding an Oceanus to the collection sometime this year. My Casio Duro and an Oceanus will see a lot of wrist time. I love Casio and the Citizen Group. The cheap Miyota quartz movements Casio use in the Duro (2115) and MRW-200H (2035) are cheap, accurate, and reliable. 🤙🏼
I spend a lot of time browsing watches but I always end up back at Casio and Citizen because I'm only interested in quality/features for price.
I’m enjoying how the production values of your videos are getting better and better.
Totally awesome watch.
ITs a great watch and well worth the money in my view... Really like how lightweight it is and total grab and go watch. Nice big date window too, easy to read. Slim, hugs the wrist. The most accurate watch I shall ever own.
Thank you for the fabulous review! After watching this video, I ordered a Oceanus S100. Cheers!
Enjoy!
Great video enjoyed very informative and I would love to get one
I love your style of review, subbed
Awesome video! I absolutely love the Oceanus range. I am in the process of picking out the right one for my pathetic 6.25 inch wrist, that integrated bracelet does make it problematic. Like you I buy watches because I love them and because of how I feel when I wear them, whether it is mechanical or quartz does not come into my reasons for buying
15K views and burst through 10K subs. That's made my week.
It's nice of you to notice.
I got to admit breaking 10k before my first year completes feels good.
I have a Citizen with AT/Solar that I use to set my mechanical watches with too.
Just discovered your channel by accident, had to subscribe. It's a nice watch. However, with my small wrist a little to large for me. I like the diameter to be no larger than 38mm, 36mm preferably. Again great content, I look forward to watching more of your videos.
Kind regards from Australia Rikki.
I have the T-200 in blue. I like it so much I have one on the bracelet and one on a dark blue strap with lighter blue stitching. Looks perfect.
Good choice!
Hallelujah, someone sticking g up for Quartz! I have 2 Swiss automatics, a Swiss Quartz, a bracelet of eco drives a Seiko Quartz, love em all but I really can't feel the difference on my wrist between the Quartz or Automatic. What I can tell, is I've got to keep winding Automatics...I have an Atomic Time Citizen, I don't have to do ANYTHING to that but wear it...😁 PS: Nick Shebaz rocks, a real advocate for Quartz.
Very much an underrated watch within the Casio catalogue . Also much better quality than much more expensive watch brands.
Nice vid! Love to see female watch enthusiasts!!
Amazing watch, the S100 and good review! Mine fits into the HQ Quartz side of my collection quite nicely which includes Oysterquartz, Grand Seiko 9f, Astron, Spring Drive, and even notable regular Quartz like PRX and Mecaquartz. Bang for the buck you just cannot go wrong with S100 and is often my recommendation in the category of best GADA under $500.
That's just dumb
You are right! I own this Oceanus for a couple of years now and it is incredible good. I use this watch to set the time on all my other watches!
I like watch vids especially from well-prepared, knowledgeable, watch enthusiasts as yourself, Liz. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Damn that intro should be a case study on how to give a proper introduction to a watch! 👏
Thank you!
This might just be the ultimate holiday watch!
First off you are my favorite Female watch CZcamsr there is far and few females in these communities. As of today based on your reviews I have just finished pairing and sizing my Oceanus T-200! Yeah I loved the titanium but I didn’t like that I had no option to change the band. This watch is stunning and the first watch that is atomic. I had an Aramaic g-shock way back in JR high before I cared about watches. That watch band broke and I super glued the watch to the stem post so I could tell time when I was on the trails idk what happened to it but they still make it. This watch is gorgeous and when I saw you display it I had to buy one. Keep up the good work ❤
Great review of a great watch Liz.👍🏼 This is one Casio I have continually considered but haven’t, as yet bought. I’m totally onboard re smart watches.🤮 Gotta say I love seeing that vintage “Kiwi Boot Polish” tin in the background.😎 Being an Aussie, this is what we used all of the time for our shoes. I still buy it now but that old aesthetic/logo was the best! Cheers from Australia, across “The Ditch” from Kiwi Boot Polish!🤣
Thanks for watching!
Great review Elizabeth! Next stop 10K subscribers!
Fingers crossed!
Excellent review.
New subscriber here. Great video and review! I really am liking your relaxed approach to your videos. i have been considering an Oceanus but am limited in my choices, as I do not like bracelets and prefer straps. Still, I do like the OCW-T200SCE-8AJR and see myself adding one to my collection in 2023.
Sadly no atomic clock access downunder in Australia. This feature would be better replaced by Bluetooth like my other Casio's so I can update the time on a regular basis. I just joined the channel and think I will explore your previous reviews. Your photography is excellent. Interesting and informative review.
Thank you!
Even the most affordable Oceanus watches are awesome. Personally I found it very hard to choose between the S100 and the T200S (#firstworldproblems). I don't think you can make a wrong choice between these, but I bought a T200S-3AJF (green dial) and I love it. Here in roughly the middle of Canada I _can_ get the WWVB signal from Fort Collins, Colorado but only if I leave the watch by my window at night. It's more convenient to long-press the button on my T200S to quickly sync up with my smartphone. Another difference: the T200S is _slightly_ larger, and I thought it may be better suited to my 19cm wrist. I also appreciate that the T200S isn't married to its bracelet, although I did get a nice fit on the bracelet & probably won't remove it. The clasp is a bit loose on the bracelet -- that's the only negative I've found. It's secure, but it sticks out a bit which isn't ideal. If perfect watches exist, we definitely can't have them in this price range. Nice job on the video!
Great video as always. I have this watch and Shabazz is a big reason also. I wear it some, but use it daily to set all of my other watches. I check it every morning to see if it picked up the signal on its own, which it does about 85-90% of the time here in the NYC area. I also can sync it to the clock wave app on my phone if it doesn't. FYI- the thumbnail pic is NOT the same watch. Very similar model (I forget the reference) which is most likely meant as the replacement for this one- hence the dropping prices on the 100.
I mean I love quartz watches, I've powerlifted with my longienes conquest quartz and it just takes it like a bitch. Genuinely one of the best watches I've ever bought.
Casio actually makes a black resin strap that fits this watch almost perfectly. It's made for a different watch but I forgot the model number. You should be able to find the strap if you look for EF-305-1AV.
I watched a few of your videos this evening. It occured to me that you might like leather jackets and such from Lost World Leather in New York, and boots from Nick's in Washington. - T
I might indeed!
Small correction. It doesn't set the time by satellite. It sets the time by radio waves from a tower in Colorado (or 5 other towers around the world). This makes a difference for people who don't live close enough to a tower
*sigh* I loved it, but once you see it next to gleaming steel it looks dull :(
Thanks for making a video on this watch.
The Oceanus line doesn't get enough credit. It is still a beloved piece in my collection and even after years of abuse I yet haven't find a scratch on it.
Not impossible, but hard to scratch.
it really is an amazing and unique watch.
as always - super great production
Casio makes some awesome watches. Nice job on the review and congrats on 10K subs!
I have never felt the need to change the bracelet on any watch. The bracelet is an integral part of the overall design. Don’t like the bracelet? Look elsewhere! The Oceanus S100 is arguably the best value for money, basement level, luxury watch on the market. Premium materials and finishing, spot on time accuracy, robust and with a decent 100m of water resistance, no batteries due to solar power, and looks that are acceptable on the beach, in the office, or even formal occasions. This is the watch to beat and to my mind, nothing else comes close for the money. I’ve only owned mine for a couple of weeks after pondering over jumping into the Japanese direct supplier market. The experience actually turned out great with the watch arriving within days. This watch looks and feels better in hand than any photo or video can convey. Buy one, but be prepared to sell the rest of your watches because they won’t be getting any wear time!
I agree it’s kinda “scary” to put so much money on a quartz watch 😮
But it seems to have a nice long spec sheet! And that titanium case & bracelet look fantastic! And I love the fact that it’s a true “set it and forget it” type of watch.
Thanks for sharing!
Great content 👌❤️👍!
A few years ago I bought a Casio which worked with atomic clocks, one BIG problem: although living in a BIG major city in Canada the atomic clock signal doesn’t reach these watches, so no advantage what so ever. Quartz watches should not be looked down like s___t.
P.S. Beautiful dog! 👌❤️😍
Thank you!
I don’t care for the watch; I can’t get past the “tough mvt” that you mentioned. Your review however is excellent.
thanks for this great review! Oceanus S100 is an amazing watch as you said. Just to nitpick you said it gets perfect clock from satellite but it's from radio signal broadcasted from the ground. ( it's not a GPS watch, it's a radio controlled watch )
Awesome review. Cool watch. Good job on turning out some entertaining, but also very helpful content.
Much appreciated!
I would willingly pay the $600 full price for this gem - it would still be fairly priced and a wonderful deal. It's too bad that many people succumb to the snob factor and think they need to spend a fortune on a 'prestige' brand...not only do they miss out on a good deal, but they miss out on an amazing watch, period.
Love my Oceanus
I'm very impressed with mine, but I must admit it doesn't excite me like my automatic watches do. The finishing is great and functionally it's about as perfect as it's possible to be, but it lacks soul.
Fair enough!
Casio Lineage - the range below. So many features
Good choice and great review girl And as I commented earlier : I own this Oceanus for a couple of years now and it is incredible good. I use this watch to set the time on all my other watches! Also on the watch you reviewed earlier the GS Sea of clouds 😊
If they were to offer it in a larger size, I might be more interested. i'm also not a fan of radio-controlled watches, but I 'Schwarzkopf' a Garmin Fenix on the right. Alternative worth considering: Certina quartz HAQ chronometer, similar size (41/10.9), claims accuracy within 15 seconds a year. Advantages - it's water resistant to 200m, doesn't have an integrated bracelet, and is generally available at or under $400. Disadvantages - steel (for those who prefer titanium), butterfly clasp bracelet.
Good to hear acknowledgement of Mr Shabazz ( the funniest watch reviewer ). I think he doesn't maligns mechanical watches but advocates quartz for ..er...' normies' ( my word) .
My Oceanus I actually put away for a year because of the bracelet then I took it to get adjusted ( genius comes slow for some).
The other Oceanus models are better for different straps but just don't look as good.
