Better results than paint shop? The key to paint is prep. Shooting the paint isnt much, its all in the prep. Once the paint and clear is shot you can ship it, or if you really want a show car paint job its hours of wet sanding between coats so it comes out like glass and gives it that rich depth. No cottage cheese/orange peel. Shooting the paint is the easy part.

I definitely need this ...I've painted my car multiple times with Rust-Oleum and I think it's 50% the reason why I'm 28 and will probably need carpal tunnel surgery within the next 2 years🤣
Part of the reason the can works so good is because it has alot of compressed air. You can buy fan attachments for regular spray paint but it won't have the force to push the same amount of paint. And these cans are used for alot, but they're made for being sealers, primers, protectants, but we use them for auto, which is fine, but that's why they don't have the same color options.
When it cures, try buffing it. It's gonna take a while, you can speed it up with a heat gun. Rustoleum gloss anything will buff. It's certainly not a DuPont finish, but my front bumper is almost unnoticeable when you compare it to the rest. Rustoleum is the Knees the bees WISH they had.
After 17 seconds you convinced me to paint my pontoon boat fencing with this instead hauling out the compressor, mix sticks, mineral spirits, etc. Thank you!
My problem is, I'm usually exposed to the elements. I'll spend six hours prepping and, just as I'm ready to spray, the wind picks up to about 25mph : ) But this would still help...
Lord ... in most areas the wind changes at sun up or sun down. Not always convenient, but good to know. The flip side is evening painting needs to be out of the dew, which happens as the temp swings. (at least here in the northeast)

Flies and insects landing in it, crap jus getting blown around cause like u said it can be clear and still all day, then the second you go to do something the wind picks up. To prime my car i ended up using my brothers 97 f250 ext cab w 6ft bed and the 6ft fence as the frame to my booth then hung tarps to make the booth. Actually worked out great haha

Hey im not a expert painter by any means and don't have a whole lot of experience but I have head you never wanna stop the sweeping motion on the area your painting and to always go past it or you'll see the spot you stopped. Just a tip
Yep, I sprayed a door handle on an old 2nd gen with that method, and the other door handle I started/stopped spraying on the handle still. Huge difference between the two. Starting/stopping before/after the part you want painted was smooth af, while the other had a nasty run on each end
I don’t know how you did it but I sprayed gloss black turbo and I could not get it to lay without massive orange peel. I tried all distances and speeds.
I painted my little s10 with the black and it looks ok when it's wet, but the gloss doesn't last very long. After two months it starts to dull. Also, the nozzles spit alot even on a warm day after shaking the can a long time. It doesn't buff out all that great either. Probably would look ok if you put clear over it. It is what it is....a cheap paint job.

They’re good for large areas. You’re going to have to practice your moves or it will run very quickly and It’s a waste of material on small parts.. did some 8 inch radiator covers for my garage and wasted a lot of material. But it’s a blast to use.
It was just a crappy old truck to demonstrate the paint. We just let it dry the way it was. Looked a million times better than it had. The paint could have been wet sanded and buffed though if it was on something nicer

Hey Rustoleum, how about one that is about half way between a regular spray can and the Turbo one. I tried the Turbo spray can, and it was over the top, just too much, and the regular spray can is too wimpy. Something in between would be just right!

I just did my truck with the gloss white and it turned out good. Even tho the white doesn’t cover as good as the black. But I’m happy with it.

I saw a CZcamsr spray a 80s Camaro and he used 8 cans. It looked good after buffing, but faded after a few months. (In case you were curious)

I used automotive touch-up paints from spraycans then covered with 2K clearcoat and it turned out great.

It looked decent right out of the can. Wet sanding wouldn’t hurt. I don’t think they make clear in this size yet though.

Normally I would paint in a booth. This was just rattle can on the side of an old truck, so dust wasn’t really a concern
Yeah bud if you're doing a rattle can paint job ya most likely ain't worried about a bit of dust.
Clean area water down floor ,hang poly above in raffters to minimize dust falling, or rent a paint booth ,when paint is dry buff paint with a polisher
