Professional painters can appreciate how effective this actually was... I professionally painted for years and around several great painters and can appreciate the very inexpensive results here and the ease involved...thumbs up on this one for sure!
Thank you for watching!!!
2k clear please. For those of us looking to have a longer lasting coat.
I think warming the cans prior to laying a cost down will help with reducing the orange peel effect. The prep is obviously the biggest factor in getting a decent job with spray cans.
It will. Always come down to time spent before and after with the rattle can job. But you can achieve a good paint job.
The 2k clear will help it last, but again you're going to have to put the work in to make it smooth and presentable.
Thank you for taking the time to put this video together.
Thank you, im shooting for this week on the 2k alot depends on the weather, thanks for the tips and for watching!!!!
Thanks for taking the time to show us about this paint ! The local body shop wanted 9 thousand to paint my 4 door 86 Cutlass, wow! I'm 67 years old and remember how it was like everything else....My plans are flat black Turbo spray, matte finish should be more forgiving...excellent video, just like your my neighbor walk down the block and showing me in person. Subscribed ......!
Thank you very much for watching, so glad I could help. Good luck on your cutlass, I love that body style!!
I can remember seeing factory paint jobs from late 50's to early 60's that didn't look any better then what you've done here!!
Hahaha thank you, were gonna make it look better this week!!!
You must have dementia
It is kinda cool bro!! And I definitely want to buy 2 can shakers that's brilliant!! Nice invention!!
Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks with us! This gives me a lot of ideas for some paint jobs I see in my future.
Thanks for watching, glad it helped
Thank you for not rushing through. We need to hear about taping and the right type of materials. When I get to this point I want to try this type of paint job.
Thank you, I enjoy sharing what took 20 years to learn and sharing with friends!!!!
Super nice coming out of a paint can!!! I am going out to by can of this stuff for my next project. Thanks for showing me this product, and explaining it...
Thank you for watching!!!!!
Thank you for sharing. I want to learn to paint so bad. I'm a Disabled Vet. and I would really love to be able to supplement my (embarrassingly low income LOL) by painting I have been into cars since I was a teen and here I am now at 52 years old and still have a genuine interest in cars and racing Ive built drag cars and raced them My disability will not affect my ability to do the job I hope The only way to know for sure is to just try. I'm sure I would be much slower than most people but I don't see that as a bad thing. I mean to be able to step back and look at your project and know that I took this car from basically a piece of crap to something you can really be proud of. I mean the satisfaction you must feel from a job well done is a feeling I have not felt in a very long time. Again Thank you for sharing your gift with us
First off, thank you very much for your service!!!! I can under stand wanting to start a lil side hustle! I love to see people wanting to learn a new trade, Painting and body work is not that hard to learn as long as you know a few steps. As for you being slower than most, you'll be better off. Most people are all ways in a hurry and hurry is the down fall to great body work.Body work has helped me through some tough times, being laid off several times you can make some good side money. Actually you can make as much as you want to lol. I'm planning on starting a new video seris taking a pannel from dented to sanded and buffed with all the info you'll need to pull ut off! Make sure to subscribe so you'll get the notification. Also go over to my website and subscribe to my email list and ill shoot out the notification there.www.acdesignsgarage.com, if you have anymore questions you can email me there or comment here, thanks for the support God Bless!!!
That was funny, I always say fungus amongus 😂. Great video and I've watched a couple with this can and I just cannot believe how wide that spray pattern is and how fast it covers. They are definitely onto something especially for people on a budget and want to save a few bucks and get a job done quicker.
Hahaha there pretty awesome, thank you for watching!!!
It would be cool if you did one side like this with a cut and buff then the other bedside one coat with 2k clear. Then do monthly reviews until you build the truck. Would make a great comparison.
Thats a great idea, i may try that!!!!
I second this also!
Well I'm glad you tested it so therefore I will know to try to make one good passing without running the paint because if I try to make a second passing it's going to Orange Peel like crazy thank you for your video and your info do appreciate it 👍
Thank you, I think if I'd of held the can back a lil futher it probably would of been a lil smother!!!
Great tips as always, man. Love the channel. Turbo cans are great. If Rusto ever gets them to spray as finely as regular cans, then they'll really be a game changer. Also, I'm glad you gave the tips about spraying rattle cans and going heavier. My stuff would come out dusty and streaky when I did light coats. Gotta be like a graffiti artist and coat it fully, runs be damned. Be well.
Hahaha thank you, I 100% agree if they would use a smaller hole in the tip where it would be a finer mist, they would be perfect!!!! Thanks for watching!!!
Great Video, Thanks for the great tips.
Thank you for watching!!!!
THANKS FOR THE TIPS AND VIDEO!!!!,, FIRST TIME WATCHING.. PEACE!!
Thank you for watching!!!
Great video! Looking forward to cut buff and clear coat.
Thank you, the cut and buff will be this weekends video, just shot it!!!
Straight to the point. Thank you!!
Thank you for watching!!!
I've learned a bunch , thx man
Thank you very much!!!
Love your video brother thanks im new to painting.
Thank you for watching, I hope I can Help!!!
love this pretty cool paint
Thank you!!!!!
that was a lot of work to show us how to do that, thank you for that
Thanks for watching, I shot the cut and buff video this week it turned out awesome, like glass, it will go up Friday or Saturday this week!!
I think this is a pretty good paint job, especially since it was done in an outdoor backyard.
Thank you!!!!!
Hell yeah, lets see the color sand and buff !!
Talk about highly intellectual n simultaneously pro's keep on going . . .
Thank you!!!
Lol ! Your spray can Shaker is so awesome! 😃
Hahahaha thank you!!!!
That's pretty cool he welded a Sawzall blade to that sheet metal years ago I took a Sawzall blade drilled 2 holes in it screwed it to aluminum drink / bottle holder intended for a bicycle. Then used a hose clamp with the plastic wing nut on it to tightin it on the can so it don't go flying as soon as you hit the button on the saw but be prepared for your arms to itch an tingle after using it cause it will shake your blood around in them veins of yours 😆
Man thats awesome idea, i made a video on building one from scratch a few weeks ago, that bottle idea is brilliant!!!
The first coat looked really good if it was covered to the point that you could not be able to see it I would have liked how shiny it was. I'm a fan of red though, I hope you have a great day and enjoy your weekend. God bless you and your family also.
Yeah I loved the first coat, then I steped back and saw light spots so I had to do another. That stuff does not like 2 coats lol thanks for watching, yall have a Blessed day 🙏
@@ACDesignsGarage Have a great Sunday
@@ACDesignsGarage in my experience the 2nd coat problems normally are due to the time between coats. Either painting the 2 coat too soon or waiting too long. If doing it the same day. My best pain job, I waited 7-10 day between each coat . Project took a month 3 coats and a gloss coat.
Like you a lot. Love your hustle.
Thank you very much!!!!
So helpful... Great video...
Thank you!!!!
Awesomeness, thanks for the tips and video! GOD Bless ! 😇👍🏼
Thank you very much, have a Blessed day!!!!!!
Waiting for the cut and buff video. I'm ready with the turbo cans and all the supplies to do a foxbody hood and doors.
It goes live at 7pm est today, If you use the turbo id hold it back about 15 inches away so you dont get as bad of orange peel as I did, just a lil helpful tip maybe save you some time sanding!!!! Were gonna do clear coat next week!!!
You would've gotten way less orange peel if you had placed the paint can in a bucket of hot water for about 10 minutes.
I need to try that thanks!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed your video. All kinds of tips and tricks learned. Would like to see you add a couple layers of clear coat now. I have a question though. If you were to clear coat over the paint at this point (with all of the orange peel), would you have to sand the paint first, or will the clear hide the orange peel? Thanks again for the video. You've made a subscriber out of me.
Thank you for watching!! I usually sand it flat with 600 wet after it dried real good and it will lay out pretty slick, a good high solids clear will fill pretty good but you still need to sand it so it will adhere. Yhis weeks video is gonna be wet sand and buffing the pannel, then next week im gonna scuff it then were gonna use the spraymax spray paint 2k clear and make it look like a show car "hopefully " lol. I want to make several lessons so I can help as many people as possible!!!!
Don't go blaming me for your tinkering.....glad ya decided to film and post it tho ....😊
I've been waiting for them to come out with a spray can that does this now they need to come out with a kit of tips that can be changed for the spray you want. I think it does a pretty good job for a can
That would be awesome if they had different tips!!!!
Rust-oleum has a 5 in 1 can that you can dial different spray patterns. Kevin Tetz from Paintucation used that to rattle can a bike tank in one of his videos.
Thanks I learned a lot GOD BLESS and take care until next time.
Thank you very much, hope you have a Blessed day!!!!
They make a 1k turbo clear. It holds the gloss and lasts decent. Ive used the white on a delivery truck about 4 years ago.
Awesome I haven't seen that yet in my area!
Very impressive spray coverage for a can, dumps the paint on it
She dumps it for sure lol!!!!
Amazing job.Have been working with cars since 1985,but have never seen such a good result with a spraybox.Unfortunately that paint can't probably not been ordered to Europe, due to our stupid laws..Thanks for the video👍
Man that stinks, can you get the regular smaller cans? I'm gonna do a video with them soon and we're gonna strive to make it show car quality!!!
You never seen it cause knowbody would be that stupid to put it on anytbing
What???
Came out sweet!
Thank you!!!!
Jesus, that can lays some paint. I was not expecting it to go down so freaking quick.
It puts it down like a water hose lol, almost comical lol
Hey, thanks man. I’ve been looking for channel that could show me the basics of stuff. I did the bodywork on my truck. Surprise me how Well it looks. I am getting ready to paint but I’m a little unsure on what would be the best primer to set up the paint,so the paint don’t peel off because I use the wrong primer.
If there is alot of bare steel, I'd use an epoxy primer, if it's just paint and body work you can't go wrong with a 2k primer filler. It builds up pretty thick and will help fill in small imperfections.
@@ACDesignsGarage thanks man. I have a light coat primer over at the moment. Keep it from rusting but I was planning on sanding that off so that helps me out. I appreciate that.
bro, that shaker contraption is bad ass!
Thank you, it's fun to use to hahahaha I have some going up on my website again this week www.acdesignsgarage.com, I'm slow because I'm the only one making them hahahaha
Those was so cool
Thank you!!!!
Holy sh$t! Please excuse the language but that first pass was simply amazing. Unbelievable actually. Thanks for sharing. Can’t believe a rattle can produced such good results and as always thanks for sharing your skills and expertise. -- clear --
Hahahaha yeah when I put the 2nd coat I was like Crap!!!!! But it needed it to sand down. I sprayed that first coat and it was awesome 👌
so what if you waited a few days and then do the second coat? Would it still orange peel? How about doing 1/2 of the bed side cut and buff and half with the clear coat.
Thats a great idea, I think im gonna wet sand and buff this week and clear it next week. Ive been thinking that the reason it peeled so bad was the pressure must of dropped a little because it was running out of paint. Usually if you let it tac up and spray with normal cans the second coat looks a good as the first. What ive found that causes peel is low pressure and too much fluid!!
Wow I'm going to start paint my car today 😳
Awesome, good luck!!!!
I will !! 1969 gmc truck I will let you know how it turns out thanks man !
Awesome!!!!
Let's see the cut and buff!!!
I was actually digging the satin red!
It did look cool, I painted a body dropped square body suburban flat red once it had a cool look!!!
I lay rattle can early in the morning sunrise 6am when its nice and cool, 4 coats at 5 mins between each coat and get mirror finish. I never clear because i change the paint every year for fun, rustoleum stays shiny for 1yr before it begins to fade away.
I will say the early morning is the tip for bugs and being cooler!!!
What would it look like with a 2k clear like spraymax? Like to see that.
I thought about trying that this week instead of color sanding?
Are you able to let it dry. Wet sand it smooth. Then apply a few coats of 2k clear? If so it could look super nice and last a long time.
Yes you can just make sure its completely hardened. I only had time to do it in one day!!!
I like your paint shaker. Version 2.0 could use a thumb screw style hose clamp.
Thanks I was thinkin the same thing!!! Im gonna make a small run of them for my website if anyone wants one, hope to have them up by may 6th.
Good evening sir Im from Texas u mentioned u were in Texas im in Grand Prairie just outside of Dallas wondering if u could recommend anybody that wont charge me an arm and leg but does honest work as yourself its a1995 chevy silverado single cab great condition!? Enjoyed the vid especially the love and attention to detail for ur craft..God Bless!!
Kool video can't wait for the cut & buff are those slotted mags in the bed ???
Yes they are good eye!!!
@@ACDesignsGarage thanks don't get rid of them sir
It's all the talking while you are sanding that has you out of breath.😊
Maybe hahahahah
John then don't watch lol he is very informational.
Pretty dang nice on the 1st coat. But, seeing it is only Enamel paint, what's the plan to seal it up ( clear coat ? ) to make it as hard & long lasting as Urethane paint ?
Yes I have a video on applying 2k clear and wet sand and buffed like a show car!!!
@@ACDesignsGarage very cool !
hey brother i'm new here i just subscribed what i just seen you do i loved it i would like to see the cut and buff
Thank you it will be up this weekend, glad to have you here!!!!
Nice video man! Gonna try it on a 65 c-10
Stuffs impressive, im thinking about sanding it this week and spraying that 2k spray paint clear to see how it does.
Im in NC 2 where u from at in NC i would like u paint 1 of my classics rides
Have you done the buff job yet? Waiting on that video
Use that as your base coat, send it down a little and clear coat it and then repeat, and the warmer the weather the flatter the paint will dry
Thanks for the tip. Check out my video where I 2k clear it and cut and buff. I was amazed how it turned out!!!!
good info
Thank you!!!!
Shinny !
Thank you!!!
Rustolum clear in turbo please, I’m failing with mine
I'm just a little bit older than you are by a good decade so I know what you are saying and get ready for the arthritis soon.
Ive had it since I was 35
Make a recipe saw Brillo pad tool for scuffing it up and cleaning at the same time. Lol
Great idea!!!!
Will that cap fit on a regular can an spray the same fan with?
It should but it will empty it quick lol, im gonna try it when the can is empty.
@@ACDesignsGarage let me know on that cap on a standard can
Would be good to see the result of it being flattened out and buffed up. Cheers Chris Bailey
Yes here Isa video where I did that, also I have one where I 2k cleared over the turbo and buffed it for super shiny finish!
czcams.com/video/fqGtOnILqwc/video.htmlsi=73pjyiS8q4NhnJcA
@@ACDesignsGarage Good result with both methods. Regards Chris Bailey
Boy I wish I was forty six again. I'm at sixty two years old. I running breath real easy😂😅
Hahahahahaha
I have always heard that Rust o Leum contains a "ALlKYD" or fish oil which is not compatible with other paints causing other paints to lift.
I think they took out the fish oil is what I heard. I shot some 2k clear over the turbo can this week and buffed it and its SLICK!!! It goes live on the 24th at 8 pm est.
I wonder how well and how long that will hold up to the sun and elements?
We are aerosol spray paint manufacturer from china.are you looking for aerosol spray spray paint?
A month Later it still looks as good as day day 1
I'm consider that can . I like to paint lower chasis., qt panel . thanks . oh that 1st coat was great , very clear reflection, 2nd coat orange peel .. but good still .
Thank you!! It's tough to make that second coat to lay out slick, I think it dries to fast to flow out.
Got me a 69 gmc c15 gonna try this method out 1 shine coat and put a car cover over it
Let me know how it does!!!
When doing body work you always want the sand on a 45 not straight across to keep the sand marks out of your paint job
Iam 66 I have a 72 Chevy pick up truck that been in my family since 1973
Man thats pretty cool!!!
Warm you can up with warm water before spraying
If you store your paper in the clean room you won't have as much cleaning 🧹 to do but the cleaning part is the part that makes it or breaks it.
I agree!!!
Try warming up the paint cans in hot water flows better
I got to try that!!!!
Clear coat would be cool
Most painters use what's called sealer to lock down anything that is going to cause solvent pops adhesion problems etc
Thanks for the tips! Also, thanks for watching!
Primer?
Where do you get those cans?
You can get them on amazon, there are links in the description box below the video, also tractor supply or lowes if your in the states!!!
Put some heat lamps on it it should flow that out !
I did somthing like this on the front of my foxbody it looked great for about a year then it just went to shit wished it would have lasted longer 🔧🚗👊🇺🇸💪🔥
Im gonna do a video on putting 2k clear over the rustoleum, that will make last a bit longer and its in a spray can.
Did you use gloss black ?
Yes
Looks good 👍🏽
Thank you!!!!
Spray can painting has come a long way to when they first came on the market All these spray with some Prefect should be able to get the factory finnishy
I buffed that 2k clear today and it was beautiful, that video will be up on Saturday!!
I spray painted a junky old peeling Buick a long time ago. It didn't turn out well. I didn't know what I was doing. I bought dull paint. But sadly, it looked better.
You should try this new spray paint it has amazed me on the difference!!
@ACDesignsGarage If I ever need a car painted, I may.
curious, how much did it cost in all?
Paint was around $30.00
Whats the end song name?
I can't remember the name but it's under Will Harrison on epidemic sound .
can't find them in the UK
That stinks, not sure why they don't have it!
I think with a big spray can like that that shoots out a lot you might want to go 8 inches away from it just to give it that perfect paint job
Its definitely a learning curve lol
where I could find that spray h
Amazon.com or any big box store in the USA
You made to much work on sanding I did the same paint on my car and I didn't do all that
As i always say you paint professionally or pay someone professionally only because you like the talent and or the art but almost never to make a profit. In most cases spray paint is good enough to protect and look to the average person without spending money. Cars lose values over time unless it’s Jay Leno. are or an Italian car
27:12 Well said could be easier or better but they have their own way
So true
You should have let it dry for at least 4 hours in warm weather before putting a second coat... When you put moisture from the second coat on a partially cured first coat it will cause the paint to soften and creates the orange peel effect... Those turbo cans do put out a lot of paint and they don't typically dry as fast as they say... Do a test piece on something and wait 15 minutes to put a second coat, then do another test piece and wait 45 minutes before putting a second coat and you'll see what I'm talking about. First test piece will come out looking like a ball sack... Lol second test piece will come out either completely glossy or slightly noticeable wrinkles or divots...
Hahaha thanks for the tip!!!
At $53 a can it would get pretty expensive, I would try to buy paint and hardener from the auto paint store
Wow yeah if they were that much here, I'd say NO!! I think there 15.00 here!
Whats name brand this spray paint ?
It's Gloss black Rust-oleum in the turbo can
@@ACDesignsGarage where can I buy it ?
