Thank you. Datum simulator across two journals as in the shaft example must also take the basic journals actual diameter size to establish runout or profile. As you say, its important to 'simulate' as best possible therefore the height of one Vee has be adapted ( shim / gauge block) to compensate for possible shaft diameter differences.
