Something else that I haven't heard anyone mention is the fact that the Silver Dapple Pinto is half-way between Dutch's and Hosea's horses in every-way. It's bigger than Dutch's horse yet smaller than Hosea's. And even more intriguing; it's the closest you'll come to getting a horse that is a combination of "The Count" and "Silver Dollar" in terms of its colouration. Hosea has a silver horse, Dutch has a white horse, while Arthur has a horse that is both silver and white. Arthur having owned the SDP really cements him as the symbolic off-spring of Hosea and Dutch.

@@superantonio Missouri Fox-trotters do come in a large variety of coat colors and SDP wouldn't be out of the question for one even though it was a gypsy vanner SDP who inspired these marking for this particular horse in game. Most common colors for them are black, bay, chestnut, grey, champagne and palomino with pinto variants. He possibly named her after a Celtic queen so Arthur knows some history or was taught by Dutch and Hosea. She could have been nearly any coat color, but I like to imagine her as either black, champagne or, liver chestnut. MFT were not very common back then as the breed was just getting started. Turkoman horses are a bit strange too for a western game as they went extinct around 1800. By 1899 There was no registration for them for nearly 100 years. So she definitly WAS not a Turkoman and very very small chance she was a MFT. Possibly Tennessee Walker/Quarter Horse/Mustang which were the most common horse breeds around that time period that can form strong bonds with their rider.
If you watch one of the trailers, you'll notice that Arthur is riding a horse that isn't in the game at all. Nor is it online. It's not the Tennessee Walker, nor is it any of the special/pre order horses.

Nice one. I’m beginning to assume this horse was Boadicea. Maybe there was cut content because she does go really well with the LOE outfit. Blackwater stable Turk>Arabian>MFT. Hosea>Dutch>Arthur. Also symbolic Micah has an MFT because he tries to take Arthur’s place. Also symbolic that it’s supposed to be dead when you help the npc. You’d think they’d just have a common horse for that encounter unless they were saying something. I like to entertain other theories but this is my go to. It could seem too flashy for Arthur but he is really an artist at heart and could probably afford top tier horses before blackwater.

Just noticed something interesting. If you do the Mason missions as John it skips the 3rd one with the SDP. It’s like Johns not allowed to comment on it. This is like 100% closure for me.

I’m late to the party, but I’m voting for the DWB as to the breed of Boadicea. I just think it’s fits his personality and place in the gang best.
Dutch has the Arabian. Beautiful, fast, attracts a crowd but gets ahead of itself and isn’t the best under pressure.
Hosea has a Turkoman. Strong, steady and wise. Keeps Dutch in check.
Arthur would a Dutch Warmblood. The muscle of the group. Strong, stubborn, loyal and the best in a fight.

I know I’m late. But my theory is, Arthur’s horse is the MFT. As it is the only horse he recognizes. He is truly amazed with it. I feel like with hosea having a turkomen and Dutch having a Arabian, it fits best. Also Micah says himself “ya know Morgan we aren’t that different” as Micah has a MFT. Also Micah states that him and Arthur are brothers and they are much alike many times. So I believe that Arthur’s previous horse was in fact a MFT and Baylock was a male and is a bad horse while Boahdicea was a female and a great horse. Showing Arthur and Micah’s Personality. And You can also find baylock bulling other horses around the camp

Despite what everyone believes, I decided my Arthur's Boadicea was a Brindle Thoroughbred. It's my favorite coat in the game. I played so many hours with Arthur and made so many of his choices as him that I feel like I should get the choice. Perhaps that's why they made the breed of Boadicea so ambiguous, so that everyone could have their own favorite coat be Arthur's past trusty mount.

You actually can get the horse in the albert mason quest. It's tedious since you have to track the horse down.
I have an easy method for it
Just to add further speculation to Boadicea's possible breed. After you get the MFT from Moonstone pond, Biscuit is the only horse I've heard Arthur refer to by name when riding in free roam. He doesn't say it often but he does.
Funny thing is the woman you take to Emerald Ranch refers to Biscuit as a male, yet the MFT that spawns in the glitch is a female.

I managed to grab the Silver dapple pinto during the Albert Mason quest line using tracking (and then throwing myself onto its back) but it took many tries! I think I’ll have to rename her after this video though-Boadicea come again ❤

Spoiler warning! For those on that haven't finished it yet.
When you name boadecia to a male horse you will get criticized by the stable owners saying "what kind of a name is that?". But when you name it to a female horse they'll be saying "that's a great name for a horse".
So my theory rockstar had put in a hint of what Arthur's horse might be. So I'm guessing that boadecia is the same horse and coat as rachel(John's horse in the epilogue).

fun fact, you actually can get the SDF from albert's mission. BUT you need to jump from your horse to it, break it, then ride it to a stable to keep it.
I wish you can keep the horses natural hair and just change the color because, I like the Missouri Fox Trotter’s natural hair style.
If you go into setting > player > horse there is a picture of the silver dapple pinto, whereas all the others are of the mahogany bay Tennessee walker

If you look in the game files, you can spawn Arthur's cut horse that had better stats than any horse (Boadicea). You can see she was a liver Chestnut Hungarian Half-Bred horse.
Bodecia is a Hungrian Halfbred liver chestnut it's in the game files also you can get it at chapter 3 when you steal the horses
I think it might’ve been a fox trotter because it sort of ties into the idea of Micah being the opposite, maybe they both had fox trotters? Two different coats as the silver dapple pinto is more like a good honour version of baylock

It’s unlikely that Arthur named her. It’s most likely a name chosen by Dutch, considering he’s the most well read member of the gang. It’s possible that she was given as a gift to Arthur by Dutch.
Or because arthur Morgan is made of two celtic names, boadicea was a celt

I made the Albert Mason missions with John, and the game skiped this misson, i think this mission is just to show us the how much Arthur likes this horse.

I had somehow got the mft alive at moonstone my second try. I then died by wolves and was quite upset losing her. Then got it second try again.. it was crazy!

This glitch happened to me when i was bringing my perfect elk pelt to the trapper. She asked if I could make some room for her, so I dragged her all the way to emerald ranch.

Love your videos! I found Arthur a Silver Dapple MFT at Moonstone Pond, after 5 or 6 tries and named her Boadicea. I have a Sooty Buckskin Dutch Warmblood as my temporary horse. I also have the Silver Mustang, Dark Bay Thoroughbred and Dark Bay Andalusian available for him at stable. I really wish you could collect a few more horses in this game.

I think Arthur’s horse was a special cost of a Missouri Fox Trotter probably a coat even more eye catching.
Great video, as are all your other videos. Just one correction though. You can catch the SDP of the Albert Mason photo shoot. For me it was perhaps the crowning achievement in the game. Very difficult wild horse to catch-the most difficult in the game. The key is to track it in deadeye as it id running past Mason and to maintain tracking while talking to him and then picking up its trail again. I tracked it all the way to the Grizzlies East before finally catching it. Do a CZcams check and you will find a video giving more detail on how it is done.
I can’t help but think when Arthur is talking about the SDP MGT he is talking in a way that he always wanted one. Like he wanted to buy the one in black water. Otherwise he might he told Albert Mason he once had one that he loved named Boadicea. Just my opinion.

I think Arthur might have had a silver tail buckskin, because at the tumbleweed stable hoseas horse is there and Javiars is there too. Maybe they all went there to get a horse. I can see it happing, the America standard has the size and the buckskin has the beauty, that’s my take on the theory

After giving it some additional thought, I believe that Boadicea was a huge, black and white, Missouri Saddle Mule. It was fast, strong and fearless. Either that, or maybe it was a Zebra.
I have two speculations and that in the first ever trailer of rdr2 you can see that Arthur is riding a yellow horse and it's the final scene,at the video where the gang is riding in great plain with arthur,Dutch, lenny,Micah,Sadie,charles, and Arthur is in the front with a yellow horse and with yellow or Green jacket.And the second speculation is that in the second trailer if you skip to 0.57 in the second video you can see Arthur riding through in valentine with the horse you get in Sadie adlers barn but, this horse has white face and the torso is like that horse.

you are nearing Arthur’s end he is also reminiscing his life choices like in that final ride plus it’s the only horse available in that mission

I went with the silver dapple pinto as boadicea. It makes no sense why that albert mason mission isn’t available for John unless it’s something special to Arthur and Arthur also specifically highlights the silver dapple pinto. Imo it fits him
Need to look and find early leak photos before rdr2 release it may have been leaked. The official trailer shows Arthur riding a different horse with the gang but i dont think Boadicea because Saddie is ridding with them.
I just got her after a little over an hour yesterday. Named her and now protect her with my life. I like to think it's her because Micahs horse is a black MFT. And he became Dutchs basically right hand man. Even though it was originally Arthur. It's nice to think that Arthur had a light colored MFT, the complete opposite of Baylock. Just like how both of the characters are completely different.

I would like Arthur's old favorite horse to be a Missouri Fox Trotter. Yes I would. But I don't find it compelling that Arthur knew the breed by name. In truth, I think he actually identified the coat and not the breed. But in any case, nothing says he couldn't name them all, it seems to me. But he does evidently revere the breed and it sounds like he's quite familiar with it.

In fact you can grab the silver dapple pinto from the Albert mason mission by jumping on her from your horse and taking it straight to the stable, then she’s yours, I confirm it is still working in latest update up to 06/13/2022.
I just found this horse, in the 3rd Chapter. The only reason I recognized it was because I watched a video about glitching this horse in the 2nd chapter the day before.
There I am, trotting along, and the SDP-MFT is just sitting at the T section from the video.
I'm not sure how or why, don't care. Arthur and Bodicea ride once more.
I did that glitch Saturday. I had to save and load the game a couple of times but I got her. Arthur has his beloved Boadicea again

The MFT we're able to get at Moonstone Pond is problably Boadicea. That lady we help always talks about her horse like is a male, but when we get that same horse, it's a female. When we get that horse, she's tired and hungry, because Arthur always looked up to her, feeding and taking care of her, she problably don't know how take care of herself, and without Arthur's help, she ends up starving to death. I think that at the beggining of the development of the game, Arthur should be able to get Boadicea back, but for some unknown reason, that part of the game was canceled, but she's still in the game, that's problably why we get level 1 bounding with her so quickly, because she recognizes Arthur.
It makes since she might be an MFT because of all the coincidental evidence. I just think it'd be cool if there was a little like dlc type story where we see her after aurthurnleaves blaclwater and she goes through a few different owners you can play as. Some nice some mean. And it leads up to that mission where authur sees the MFT and it turns out to be her. Lol just some weird but also bittersweet dlc idea

I feel like if Arthur had a Thoroughbred he would have that black Dapple one. I always liked Arthur on Darker Horses, but it does make sense that it would be the MFT since Micah also has one and the most important gang members have Amazing horses: Dutch the Albino Arabian, Hosea the Silver Turkoman and Micah the Black MFT. The other gang members have more “normal horses” like Nokotas, Appaloosas, Hungarians, Standarbred, etc.
Boadicea is definitely a red horse if it’s named after a red headed warrior

Ugh, I would *_kill_* for a Missouri Fox Trotter with a Dark Bay coat.
MFT were not very common back then as the breed was just getting started and wasn't recognized officially until the 1940s. Turkoman horses are a bit strange too for a late term western game as they went extinct around 1800. By 1899 There was no registration for them for nearly 100 years. So she definitly was NOT a Turkoman and very small chance Queen B was a MFT. Most likely she was a Walker/Riding breed like a Tennessee Walker, Standardbred or Saddlebred Which were the most obvious and common horses during that time period. I like to imagine her as a black horse or liver chestnut or possibly Champagne coat.

@Javier Pedroza It WAS possible that there were a few real Turkoman horses left Like under 10- and for Red Dead's sake - Hosea stole one or it was stolen for him- But the reality is that if there were any purebreds left, they most likely weren't in the US or if they were in the US- the breeder was irresponsible and didn't keep breeding records and sold the horse and did not document anything about the horse/sale/breeding etc. which is really unlikely.
@Javier Pedroza Hosea is a well read man, and there were drawings and written depictions of the extinct horse breeds as there still is today so it's possible he's just guessing- however, R* just wanted to them to have individual horses as unique as the characters, the rest is speculation.
Thinking about it she could be MFT as black water sell one and the photo so yea silver dapple can be dark colours

Do you guys think that red dead 3 will be played through the eyes of Mac Callander? He's one of the few gangmembers who dies at the blackwater shooting, we've never seen what he looks like or what happened when the pinkerrons got him. Plus we still need to know what happened before that ferry job. What do you guys think? This is just a thought

Someone probably already pointed out, but you can tame it. After the mission you chase it down and have to jump on from your horse. I had an issue where I couldnt remount it (probably why you couldn't do so in the video) so I did it a second time and brought it to the stable, saved and loaded in to remount. Way less time than when said you 6 hours to get biscuit at moonstone creek

Boadicea is a Hungarian half bred liver chestnut. Not available in story nor in online. Spawn it with a trainer, you'll see what i mean.
and the area you can buy the horse arthurs horse dies in blackwater from the ferry job i think and you can buy the horse from the blackwater stable
Boadicea in my opinion is a thoroughbred horse because thoroughbreds come from England which Sean always calls Arthur “english” or “englishman” thoroughbreds are also known for being racehorses which boadicea was most likely a racehorse the way Arthur talks about her
You can get the horse from masons misson! After your done talking with him you can track her down and find her up in annseberg took me like 12 attempts but i did get her in about 2 hours!!
The only thing is that I keep thinking the horse may have had a red mane and tail... I do like all the theories tho. This is a real head scratcher for sure.

I think Arthur's horse was most likely an MST but I don't think it was the same silver dapple coat we see in game. Arthur recognises the horse but I think he probably had some sort of variation on it. Many gang members have horse coats that can't be seen anywhere else in game besides the tumbleweed stable and I think Arthur just recognised a similar, but not identical coat. I'd like to think his silver dapple had small hints of red, just like taima, hence the name boadicea. I also don't think the horse lived through the Blackwater job. I find it unlikely that Arthur would have fallen off or left his horse in a position that it would run away, or that Arthur would ever ride a horse that would run away in the first place. I think the horse sadly died and Arthur got a ride with another gang member out of Blackwater, maybe Hosea. While it doesn't fully fit in with the top comment of this video saying the silver dapple is a mix between Dutch and Hosea's horses, the small hints of red throughout the horse I have described could represent Arthur himself, rather than the horse being purely Hosea and Dutch. I also think the red would most likely only be on the black/grey parts of the coat as if it were on the white it could look a bit strange.

I like to think Boadicea was a ruby coated mustang with sass( like the blood bay arabian but a mustang). Mustangs are very loyal and have courage and personality. I have a feeling that Arthur's horse did something brave that saved him back in Black water.

I think she was a black pinto Missouri Fox Trotter with shiny brown highlights in the black almost like Rachel!🤔🤔🤔 I mean in my opinion black pintos are the very beautiful and like you said “ Arthur was inspired by her bravery and beauty to name her Boadicea” also Missouri Fox Trotters one of the most brave if not the bravest breed in the game🤔🤔
The first time I played this game, Arthur had a champage mft. When it was dyeing in the end, he thanked the horse. When I played it the second time he had a Nokota and he said nothing to the horse. Both horses and Arthur had a level 4 bonding. Just saying.

I think she was just an old nag that aurther had a soft spot for because they grew up together. And that it doesn’t really matter because I typically use the gold turkoman named chicken head at the end game scene. And aurther sounds way mor broke up when chicken head dies then when he talked about the other horse in chapter 2.
I think she's the reverse black dappled thoroughbred. It only makes since as you only get it with thr ultimate edition. While I love my foxtrotters, Rockstar put that horse with that edition for a reason.
I just got my MFT a week or so ago on my second play through where I'm pretty much parking my butt in chapter 2 for as long as I can. I got her after I did the tracking trick after Albert Mason takes the photo of the horses. I actually prefer this method to the moonstone pond one because it's such a challenge tracking it and finally jumping on the horse. I've named her ghost because of how her tracks sometimes just seemed to vanish while I tracked her. And yes, it shows a high probably that Bodacea was a SDP on account of Arthur's affectionate emphasis on the name and the MFT,once you get it, is always a female and Arthur mentions Bodacea being a 'she'! 😊

Once I tracked her all the way to Elysian Pond and she was in some weird position along the bank between the running water and a cliff side, I couldn't get the 'jump to house prompt.' A little confusion occurred and as soon as I turn around she bolted and I lost the track too. 🙈
NOOOO...I finally had the pinto while helping Albert Mason take photos but the game wouldnt let me lasso or mount him. When i returned to talk to Mason the horses were gone....NOOOOOO!!!!! I cant get this horse for the life of me.
There is a glitch you can do to get the MTF on the Albert Mason mission
When Arthur is asked what he is looking for in a horse at the stables, he says strong and fast! So I’m thinking that Bodacia could be a race work, Silver dapple pinto FT, Thoroughbred, or the American Standardbred! And I don’t think it’s a war horse or work horse since they aren’t fast!

To be fair, "silver dapple pinto" is technically a COLOR, not a breed, so it's possible that Boadicea WAS a SDP, but was NOT a Missouri Fox Trotter. Can you imagine this coat on a Turkoman or an Andalusian? Gorgeous AND brave. I still like the dark bay Turkoman theory the best out of the existing coats, though. You guys speculate too much, I imagine Rockstar having fun reading all this. I remember endless speculations concerning 2001 GTAIII protagonist Claude, like if he really was that same Claude from GTA2 or why is he mute all the time. When finally Rockstar answered that question like 5yrs later (when Claude made his return in San Andreas) the answer was simple that they haven't really much budget to record lines for him.
This case, I'm pretty sure even Rockstar doesn't know themselves which horse Boadicea really was.
I was able to get the silver dapple pinto just after completeing the photography mission, you just have to be quick as not to lose her/him.
I believe the miisoury is a storng contenderwhen it omces to boadicea, though it'd have to be a darker coat as that is mentioned.

The silver dapple pinto in blackwater is definitely not a lost boadcia as it can spawn in the stable as a male.
I don't believe Bodicea was a Missisourie Fox Trotter. I believe she was a mustang.

If Boadicea were alive Arthur would get her back. At least my Arthur would. My first play through,only had the cheap valentine horse and the white Arabian after I found her.(1st time through I didn't go online for help..just muddled through so very poor) And with the saddle time they had, both horses are by far the best in the game that I have ridden and I have the tried the others as john but they don't experience the same stress that Arthur's did so they will not be as solid in my opinion and game play observation. My second time through I missed the MFT bug but if I play again will try to get her via bug and than shoot the bitch that was riding her horse to death where there's plenty of food for horse.

He is VERY clear that his bodecia was female, but in all of my games it seems like the mft in black water TENDS to be male at least 66% of the time.
I think Boadicea was a Dutch Warmblood. First DW and Andelusian are the only breeds that none of the gang members ride. second because of the Buell.
I don't think Boadicea was the Silver Dapple Pinto. He might have recognised the coat colour, but I don't recall that he mentioned the breed. I've always imagined Boadicea as a darker horse

I think boadicea is an hungarian halfbred! It‘s big, storng and beautiful plus one spawn location is next to Blackwater and John had a hungarian halfbred in RDR1.
