    Awesome! Just the other day I was trying to make something similar but with aiflakes and the shader's thin film (didn't know there was a node for that!) and it looked awful. I'll give it a try again with your method, thanks a lot!

    Thank you, I was always wondering how to achieve such an effect. On top of that, is there an option to frame nodes into group in maya? The same way in Nuke or even in Blender. Thank you

    But anyway, nice tutorial if you want to do this manually.

    • @arvidurs
      @arvidurs  Před 4 lety

      It does do the flakes and all that - not sure about the custom colored flakes though

    • @SeanDlrishBastard
      @SeanDlrishBastard Před 4 lety +2

      @@arvidurs I just tried it out and I've kinda got it working.
      I plugged the aiFlakes into the Normal Camera and turned on Thin Film attribute of the material where the Thickness and IOR sliders allow you to adjust the color. Also, the SolidAngle Documentation suggest that if I understood it well. I believe that workflow would be physically "correctER" but yours provide the artistic control, so each to his own I guess :D
