didn‘t knew that you can plug stuff into the shading group. nice little trick that might come handy. thank you for this great little tutorial!
Yeah! Thats cool! I know blender started that method. Its nice to see it work in Maya.
Thank you so much. Your videos have been an invaluable resource.
Awesome tutorial. Your every tutorial is very useful. I love your intro. It looks very amazing.
I learned a lot from this video. Thank you so much!
Btw I totally love that intro! It looks super nice!
Awesome! Thanks!
Awesome! Just the other day I was trying to make something similar but with aiflakes and the shader's thin film (didn't know there was a node for that!) and it looked awful. I'll give it a try again with your method, thanks a lot!
good tutorial!
Thanks👏👏 awesome
I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good afternoon, you can review the Houdini Html shaders, in particular the display and so on. how do I make the maya mtoa render look the same as Houdini HtoA
Nice
I tried this, but as soon as i connected the second cell noise the flakes went black any ideas?
Thanks for your useful tutorials! love it! I just wanna know what's your desktop spec? I saw your camera AA sample setting! it was on 20! damn!!!!
why not use arnold's noise with vector offset to create the effect?
lots of ways to do it
can u plz tell me which image viewer u use for references that stay over Maya window? it'd really b a great help!
also thanks 4 the awesome Arnold tutorials! XD
Did you ever find out? I REALLY want to know how to do this! It would be tremendously helpful with my workflow. I can't find anything online.
@@Brownmerican haha yes, it's called pureRef , which is free and very helpful
Thank you, I was always wondering how to achieve such an effect. On top of that, is there an option to frame nodes into group in maya? The same way in Nuke or even in Blender. Thank you
It is great
that's great!
Great tutorial as always
unfortunately, it seems like the thin film node doesn't note work with the GPU
hm - yeah it's possible
can u make a tutorial on the captain marvel glowing thingy?
That was mostly a comp treatment
I must ask, doesn't the aiFlakes node provide all of this out of the box already?
But anyway, nice tutorial if you want to do this manually.
It does do the flakes and all that - not sure about the custom colored flakes though
@@arvidurs I just tried it out and I've kinda got it working.
I plugged the aiFlakes into the Normal Camera and turned on Thin Film attribute of the material where the Thickness and IOR sliders allow you to adjust the color. Also, the SolidAngle Documentation suggest that if I understood it well. I believe that workflow would be physically "correctER" but yours provide the artistic control, so each to his own I guess :D
SeanDlrishBastard yeah thanks for double checking :) should have tried that first maybe. But hell it was fun
@@arvidurs indeed. It was fun to watch also :)
the only one matter is your font size too small
what image viewer are you using
The reference viewer is PureRef
@@arvidurs Thank you
@@arvidurs This is a really good Always on top image viewer am really lovin' it Thanks again
i cant create a sofa texture or a leather texture... Im thinking of giving up...
cant take this anymore
can't be that bad - why don't you check out substance for leather stuff?
