For me the t55a is a better version of this tank. Sure the armour is worse but I don't ever remember having trouble penning a t54 either.

Funny thing about that tank. In terms of naming, the T-55A should have, what on the T-54, is the less accurate, but higher DPM 100mm, but in terms of game balance, it's more like a hybrid between the 2. You're more accurate than the brawling gun, while having more DPM than the sniping gun. I love it for that.

That was how the T-54 was a while back. One gun was garbage but had okish AP pen while the other was a straight upgrade when firing HEAT. They rebalanced the guns but didn't change the T55A @@tomvsas
Would be fun if you could choose your gun as the battle loading like you can with different equip when you have field mods. City map? Take your DPM gun. Steppes? Accuracy.
fun fact: back in the day when the first unicum clan was running through randoms with insane WRs they ran 3 T54 mediums with HEAT in platoon, HEAT 54 was spawned from those days and that time and the clan? it was PTS - Pirates

I remember when skill first recommended t44 and t54 such a great tanks .
This tank should've been tweaked already for the current meta - upping the regular round pen (maybe 230-240?), and lowering that heat pen for a tier 9 med (maybe 280-300). The same for M46 Patton. The game's already a decade old and this old hag is still too damn expensive to play lol.
I think keyboardus artus is a guy playing arty just for missions. Ordinary arty players keep their keyboard in cellar
I absolutely despised playing this tank before the buffs, and i'm sure i'd hate it now still. First of all, its CRAZY expensive even without HEAT, 1230 silver for a 320 alpha 200/220 penetration shot is absurd when even 390 alpha higher penetration costs only 1k, heck the obj 430 390 alpha shell costs 840. Second of all, the repair costs are also high... The mobility is meh, the side and front armor sucks, the top of the turret gets penetrated and overmatched all the time, that's aside huge commander hatches too, and the gun barely bends down... It was such a pain to play i spammed gold just to pass it faster, not to mention, NOT spamming gold on this thing can be about as expensive as spamming gold on other tanks, without premium i had -70k games without even using food nor any gold fired.

Back in the day when the t-54 and 140 felt like they had magical armor. How times have changed…
Yeah sure their armor is losing relevancy, but at least their 340 HEAT is still good enough for the job. Back then it was "why they need their HEAT to be this broken?", now it's one of their last selling point.

I do better in T 54 than in 140, so this tank is one of my favourites. The dpm gun isn’t even that bad in terms of gun handling, and since the ammo is basically the same, I see no reason why you wouldn’t use dpm gun over accuracy
Its amazing when old T-54 is still great in 2023 without any buffs/nerfs..

WG sure had a blast giving 330 HEAT pen to this thing. From 210~ to 330...yeah. With 270-280 was more than enough for this tank.

Its not a big deal about the gold spam. 99% of all ammo im getting shot by in almost any tank is gold. I dont remember reciving even a single shot of standard ammo all week. Its how the game is now.
well if you play tanks thats only weak against gold, dont be surprised. the problem is on your end.

I'm gonna comment about the jeff's using xvm and focusing only on the best player in the opposit team, you're the first reason if your team loose the game, arty is useful to shoot someone who take a strategic position that your teammates can't do anything to get him out of it or assault him, not to shoot the best player sometimes even afk, i saw this with my own eyes, back the days team damage was allowed and i destroyed my own teammate clicker because he was focusing on the best player in the opposit team while there was tanks taking more dangerous positions to our team. Even click only they dont know how to do it.
Unfortunately i play on WoT Asia and Asia has no tourists, it's very disgusting, what i would give to transfer to another region 😑 Instead you get players who enjoy watching their team die and cower in the corners, that's WoT Asia is in a nutshell

I mark t-54 when i have 15 and its took me around 200 games (i have cca 1000wn8 and no knowlage about the game) after few years i try to mark it again on another acc when i playing for 3600-4k wn8 and i have 20y and it took me 150 games 😂😂 this tank is not for me 😂
Oh the memories... I have finished doing the Obj. 279 (e) missions with it and funniest part that i finished in the ''Cliff'' map about 4 years back at the rush to become a Hero from Zerooo grinded all tanks there was at the time from tier II up to tier X and did all missions for Obj. 260 and Obj. 279 (e) in 23 months... What can i say i was nolifer... + On top of all i haven't become a hero now i have an average 53%WR 1147dmg 717xp... Tanks aced 487/599 So baboons if you wanna become a hero😎 better start marking the tanks and do not try to go my path... 🤪
Hated this tank with a passion. Couldn't ever make it work no matter what I did. I did great with the T-43 and T-44. T-54? Not a fucking chance.
The T54 is the worst tank that I have had to grind. It has two guns, but neither of them can penetrate hardly any other same tier tank. even if you shoot them in the side or try and get round the back. Also the tank eats up so many credits it’s unbelievable.
3k combined damage, and skill spends 2 minutes explaining himself. Chill, man. We'd have preferred the burnt pancake conclusion.
after 30 games with this tank all i want to do is to sell it. I'll give it a try couple more games, but as it is now tank exploded 4 times, missing 5-6 shots in a row every other game, can;t bounce anything. This tank is revolting. 50 games update, nothing changed, still pile of s***, 5/19 shot with gold penetrated last game.
It's mediocre in today's game I think... heats are nice.. but holy shit fellas she gets expensive... there are better tanks now imo.. still a legend.. but an aging one
Indeed, it's a very expensive tank to run and, if you ask me, it has nothing to offer that better tanks don't already have. Sadly powercrept.
Wanna play this game without tourists?! Just go play an all tier 10 battle on the Hong Kong server. First 3 mins the 3 least inexperienced players in each team will die, the next 10 mins everyone stays put behind rocks and bushes and nothing much happens. As soon as there are about 3 to 5 mins to play on the clock, both teams realize they need to do something and play the game. Very passive and boring gameplay, with about 5% of the tier 10 games ending in a draw because both teams simply don't do enough.
I have accounts on both the EU and HK server and I can tell you that games on the EU server are 10 times easier and also a lot more fun, despite being faster. EU server complainers should better think twice when complaining about fast games. Longer games do not necessarily mean more fun on the battlefield!
The point isn't to have fun, it's to collect pixels to flex about
If you want to feel the "RU/EU" style of gameplay, play Onslaught.
But yeah you are not exaggerating, my draw rate in ASIA is 1.8% from 36k games I played since like 11 years ago. However, in my last 1000 games it is 4.4%. Last 377 games is 5%.
I hope one day one of EU/NA CC could visit ASIA and try to play a press account here. Their turbo games are very different compared to our constant Stalingrad-like hell (although to be more fair : we still have imbalanced and occasional turbo games -- it's just that they are much rarer especially in high tiers)

With your knowledge of tactics, i don't understand how you could be in the clan of arty's haters and those who play them! I'm an average player(by comunity standards), who ocasionaly play arty and in my humble opinion , playing arty is not so simple how haters want to convince noobs to believe! Especially novadays, with the rage nerf arty's got, and the fast pacing rounds, inflicted by new tanks with 60+ speed! Anyway, in my curiosity i installed a mod who show me how many times i was hit by arty's in 300 matches!
Surprise...surprise... 60 times... in 300 rounds... many of them having 2 arty's...for about 10000 HP. And i repeat, i'm an ''average'' player, no more than that! I concluded that arty doesn't affect my results per round in any way. Good or bad results are depending only on me and my matching team. So what that tales me about cry babies raging against arty's and ''clickers'', those who are so many so they convice wargaming to destroy arty for them?! They are the ones with WASD keys missing on their keyboards and with lack of handling the game itself! They have to master theyr playstyle to manage to avoid arty's frivole attacks! They are the average!

What a weird thing to say... The Soviet Union is a country that existed, and their tanks are in the game. No need to be hysterical about it. Germans in those days were as bad if not worse and we don't make a fuss about them in this game.
