  • Hello Dacia Duster Drivers 😃
    in this Video i´ll show you a compare of the STANDARD ACCELERATION vs. TUNED ACCELERATION (Dynorun will follow in the next few days!) 💪
    The Dacia Duster 2018 and 2019 DCI is Simple for remapping via OBD. It has no "Tuning Protection" known from some German Cars.
    1) Standard Acceleration with the NEW DACIA DUSTER 2 (2018, 2019) 🤨
    Engine: 1.5dci (No ADBLUE!) - Factory Output : 110HP

    Diesel Consumption: current average Diesel consumption value: My DaciaDuster Dashboard showed me average consumption = 5,6 L/100 km - Driven Distance: 686,3 KM. I had the bill from the last gasstation refill - and calculated it manually: So with Distance 686,3KM driven and filled up my fuel Tank to Top (43,73L last tankstop), i calculated 6,37L / 100Km. Different Drivings (Highway, normal Street - long rides, not many "short rides"). So for orientation about fuel consumption. Best Regards Sasa from DaciaDuster Allroad :) !

      Checking the power curve it seems you rev it too high. Even after tune, red line is about 4200rpm (4000 stock). Diesel is very different from gas haha

    Thank you very much Sasa for all your great videos. Very clear info and helpful too.
    I am planning to buy a Duster because my daily km utilization back and forth to work is 80km highway... Therefore the Diesel version seems the best choice for high milage use...
    Is it possible to provide some more details regarding the ECU running.
    I am not a fan of modifications and running, but in that case i believe you get this extra kick that is maybe missing. 👍👍👍
    Great job

      Hello Kostas :), you wont regret this choice. I also wasnt a fan of modding a new car with Tuning the Map - but, for now i have to say - my engine is still ok. Currently 57700 km, and in Summer i was driving > 5000km (down, and back) to greece - with really hot temperatures, without any issues on the electrics and engine. so the mapping should be ok for now. i will ask the friend of mine, if he could tell me about the details they made to the software. Sorry for late response - i was a long time away (Private Project) for 3DThings,.. and it took so much time from me.

    I just did my remap on my duster 2 , much better acceleration on the road, but what about off-road? On mud or sand? Do you feel a difference? I feel like only the turbo has been affected by the remap

    • @SasaBuilds
      @SasaBuilds  Před 4 lety

      Hello Hichem, your right - from "the normal feel" its like just the turbo has been affected by remaps - but, i think its a bit more. Normally a "turbo diesel" engine, has the benefit of the turbo which is commonly used as a gainpoint in horsepower - its easier, but also there must be other parameters changed, or it will "blow up" the engine by time. My personal opinion is a bit doubted because i have also a "pedal box", - it was my first "tune" - the dacia by default seemed a bit "lazy" when you pushed the pedal, so i added a pedalbox, and this changed the "reaction time" a bit of the engine. Currently because of "corona" there is a bit a problem getting in offroad areas. as soon as possible i will give a review about it (remapped and offroad together). one big benefit we have beside remap - is the first short gear, its perfect for harsh offroad situation

    just one question: I understood the demonstration was done in the SAME single car ?.....same road, same weather, drive after a drive....etc... How was it possible to first have it "factory done" and than with remapped ECU ? I own this exact model (2018, 4x4 dci, no adblue) but it is (and will be) under warranty until October 2021. Just recently bought myself obd2 scanner (Vgate) and used it to check the coolant temp but after reading scary things how "cheap ebay" scanners can do to ecu cooled down a bit....I am perfectly happy with my Duster (50000 km so far) but I am always interested to understand better machinery under my feet.....

    • @SasaBuilds
      @SasaBuilds  Před 4 lety +6

      Hello Boris :) , i have currently arround 31000 km and still happy with my duster too :). About the Remapped ECU -> is simple. You have a Reader Tool (also connects via OBD) - and its specifically made for TUNING (there is a slave version and master version) -> just google OBD ECU Tuning Scanner like KESS, or ECM Titanium or NewGenius -> there are many brands out there. You connect it to your car, follow the instructions on this tool - and then you "create a copy of your ECU and all its components". So - then you have 2 Options , 1 is to mail it to a Distributor (you have a contract with him, or buy files) - you send him your file, he "upgrades it with his expertise" - you pay for this upgraded file -> he sends you back, you upload this file to your OBD ECU Tool, and write it to "your Car" - it Overwrites your existing Maps on the ECU. Then when you start you have the changed fuel times, boostpressure etc... 2 Option is if you extract your file from the ECU (COPY) - you can manually change at your own these Maps on the ECU - which needs much practice. I got a really good price, and the option that the Owner of the tools wants to introduce me to ECU Tuning (first step - basic copy and import changed files), second step would be - open the ECU and go directly to the mainboard and make changes on my own (as learning). But the fact is - it isnt cheap, such "OBD ECU Tuner Tools" costs arround 2000€ > , then you can read files - and for every single file you have to pay seperatly. But im with you, to understand the machinery is a great thing and makes you sleep better sometimes :). i will make a "dyno run" to measure those "changes made to my file" - because currently , i dont know how much output i have

      Hello vincent, sorry for late response.
      After the ecu remap - i didnt had any failure - i drive the car since then and now i have 71000 km, and its still runing. what i do is - i replace oil and filter every 10000 km´s, and add a TUNAP Additive for diesel injectors. never had failures. i have the model without the ADD BLUE (2018) - 110 HP, AWD. also i dont push the car every time, just sometime speeding from lower speeds to legal speeds on highway, because we have the "DPF" .

    Did your fuel consumption change mate?

    • @SasaBuilds
      @SasaBuilds  Před 4 lety

      Hello Benrie,
      well my average fuel consumption shown on the Dashboard Fuel Computer shows: arround 6,4-6,7 Litres Diesel driving highway, and normal roads with my AT Tires and the Roof Rack . It depends on my driving - i think the real consumption should be arround 7-8 litres. Yesterday i made the gastank full, and my Dashboard Fuelcomputer told me that im able to "Reach arround 870km". Before Tuning, i didnt got those estimated range it was every time arround 700kms. i have to make some math. i took the bill from the gas station with me, and after this tank i can calculate the real difference - will update your question soon. because of the tuning me and others recognized that the "turbo" works a bit earlier and if you push the pedal to the metal - also harder. which means, in normal driving the turbo should "reduce" a bit the fuel consumption - but if you go wild with the gaspedal, it will consume also more.

      Hello Gogul, im totally with you - i own the 110HP AWD Prestige. it was a bit a lack of power. in the first gear the ratio is ideal for offroad, but in daily a bit pain to drive. for the power - i know renault diesel engines or newer diesel engines can have the failure with injection. mine is still driving with no errors. what i do is - from maintenance to maintenance yearly i add the additive: from TUNAP. Ask your lokal dealer, its meant as an additive for diesel injectors. i dont know if it really does some stuff, but for me it feels better after i add it yearly :).

      @@Mr330d your right hehe. Well the funny thing is that in the user manual of the car - its mentioned if you are on an even terrain / surface / ground - and standing still - drive with the 2nd gear, coz the first one is really "short" - it was made for the offroad terrain, and makes someone a bit like a rally driver - while you are start driving from the stop line - you can already switch to the 2nd gear. The higher gears are better. but lucky me - my tyres are allowed to a speed of 160km/h (with index mark on tyre) - but im a bit afraid of hittin the "top line" with that limit known on those tires :D but its ok for me hehe.
