I can smell the clutch
Its alright there only like 10p to replace parts on haha🤣
This wouldnt wear on the clutch. The engine is revving high because the wheels are spinning not because of clutch slip.
Automatic doesnt have clutch
@@rvlrintluanga4705 automatics have at least one clutch, some of them have two clutches.
@@-Giannis Not quite true, on dacia yes, because it's a robotic automatic, on bmw it has torque converter, instead of a clutch.
This was silly. The true strength of 4x4 is the ability to go slowly with control. Just hitting the gas tells nothing about the quality of the 4x4.
Even 4x4 duster isn't meant for heavy offroading. It is supposed to be a family car with ground clearance which can take some light offroading. Bottom line, either go for the best or go for what certain amount of money can buy the best. Duster is budget friendly, that is the whole point but if you want to do serious offroading, you use nothing less than a Jeep with 35inch tyres.
@@memd777 I appreciate the reply. However, it sounds prejudiced. I've seen comparisons between the Duster and other 4x4s and the Duster is performing pretty well.
4*4 and awd is a big difference
@@hellsbells8979 its the same while you have 4 wheels
@@gorovitz no, make research first, then talk
with that mud, the tyres are the key. ( p.s.: poor clutch. rip )
hahaha poor clutch rip :D
My perception is that under this condition of good ground support but low friction the tire type, tire pressure and weight distribution in the car is much more effective than 4WD and traction control.
Bro you are the only one who is keeping the Legendary Duster's Legacy still alive in us! Love you bro😘😘😘
If you're thinking to buy a Duster this is the best channel 👍
Thanks for this video. Good example.
Its all about the tire.if you guys use mud tyre then it can climb easily
Foarte bun videoclipul! Mulțumim!
Duster is one of my favorite car thnx to make this video bro.
Guys I live in the mounty area!
Rule - don’t worry about the clutch.
Really . Just don’t .
It’s just a consumable part and needs to be used well than replaced at necessity. It’s a car
Burnt your clutch enjoy and don’t worry .
It must be burned .
Sometimes you need to find the spot of traction and the only way to do it is to burn your clutch a bit . In duster even if you really burn your clutch really badly it will still last 250-300 thousand miles . So stop worrying
And enjoy your car
You should definitely try to low pressure, even your AT tires will surprise you. 2.2 bar is too much. Try 1 bar or even 0.7-0.6 bar, but in that case you should steer very carefully. Good luck.
bring a portable pump
@@lostcluster2 he says - "don't play with a steering wheel too fast, cause on a low-pressure - you have a change to disengage a tire from a disc because of it's weak corners"
Def need mud tyres!
Glad i bought a landrover
I LOVE this videos
Why anyone would attempt driving in mud on winter tires is beyond me. To drive in mud You need mud tires, anything else will be unable to go very far.
2wd gives you more of an advantage with ESC disabled, another advantage is being at the the service center getting a clutch swapped. Yes, I know this was a demo so I am sure all risk were considered
ESC is forcing your engine to a weaker mode, and also brake pads will trying to stop wheel spinning to give you some "extra" grip, which you probably never get, that's why ESC should be off sometimes.
why swap the clutch? With any transmission type, even DSG, full throttle is better than less throttle.
since at full throttle the clutch is as good as not actuated and is engaged directly
Do you know how the duster (and actually most) 4x4 lock work?
If you go under a certain speed (usually it's in the range of 20-40 km/h) it will stay locked, if you go above it will unlock.
So in conclusion, the tests you did with 4x4 lock on was on for the first 2 seconds, as soon as the wheels start to spin at that speed it will disengage it, even though the car wasn't moving fast.
So those tests were useless but it did tell something valuable, and that is that the tests were bad and what counted more was the car's momentum than the 4x4 system.
level 100 player :)))
Bien dit. Ce soi disant test est nul. Allez plutôt regarder les tests de professionnels.
Do you know that Duster is AWD not 4x4 and it works actually by detecting slippage.
@@jec_ecart Ok let me inform how the slippage works:
2 wheel drive, the 2 wheels slip > 4wd coupling engaged and it should direct power to all 4 but there is a catch.
All these cars with these kind of coupling are designed to work when slipping on low speed and it doesn't work under heavy load of higher speeds so after a wheel(very important wheel speed) of 25-30-35 (depending on the manufacturer) the coupling disengages and becomes 2wd because it cannot handle the stress.
@@level1player3 AWD is mostly designed for snow or light duty.
For heavy duty one needs a proper transfer case.
Nicely done. 👍
Cool video👍👍👍
Ein anschaulicher Vergleich. Danke.
1.
On 2WD just turn off ASR/TCR traction controll, need higher speed before climbing and try slightly turn steering wheel right-left in mud. Constantly use accelerator.
2.
Must have allterrain wheels or allseason
Wow. You successfully proved that a 4 wheels drive will go where a 2 wheels drive will not. Very useful video. And over 1 mil views. :)))))))
Nice test
Many thanks 👍
The color of the tires look so nice you should paint them in that autumn color. Dark blue-silver body with dark gold tires :))
Good explanation video
Hi buddy. I ordered 4wd Duster 1.3Tce\CVT for myself ☺

Muy útil gracias
remove air from the tyres. Of course contact patch is bigger but more important your profile will clean out itself from the mud so you have more grip
Indeed. The same like on beach sand
Duster Top 🔝!!!
Hi man, great video..I have some questions...I consider Duster as a family car for us(me+ wife+ one child) I would probably take the 2wd version (mainly because its a lot cheaper) and i would like to know if its capable of some light offroading, like going to a vacation to cottage on some non asphalt road. But it would be mainly used on asphalt roads and in city. Is it a good car for this kind of driving? Also I'm considering the 1.33tce 130 engine. Thanks
lol, obviously its suitable for that
@@nofrigginidea3728 well my biggest concern is if it will get me through some off-road even with 2wd only
It depends on the condition of the trail you go on. I f the trail has sections where you can't use the speed to get by and you have to go slow, there are chances you'll have to force the car a lil bit. but if the trail is ok, even with 2wd you can pass it. high ground clearance and good angle of attack are helping alot.
Get the 2wd learning some driving skills and good tire are way cheaper than 4wd. Even 4wd is useless when you have race-tires and an idiot driver
Attention achat TCE trés dur a la revente !!! préférez gasoil !!! vous allez perdre beaucoup d'argent !!! J'ai donné !!!!
Good video
the truth is : 4WD (4 wheel drive ) lets you to drive better in off-road. it can also help in stabliyzing the car in road. 2WD (2 wheel drive) only uses front two wheels -which is faster- costs more fuel oil or smth. 4WD better in off-road...ESC (electronic stabily control) improves the car sharp returns
were you just born and leaned this? why are you explaining this?!
Good news!!
Muy buen vídeo
Without off road tires they had no chance. Suffering in the mud.
There is no issue with clutch...because duster have a short first gear, and do not need too much clutch use.I drive like 8 month of year a duster in such condition in a romanian montain farmland, and clutch isnt a issue at all,and yes tyres make difference.
You had more initial momentum while in auto ... with that momentum you can climb with 2wd as well
But what if it is 4WD that enables you to have more momentum...
In the 2WD try with ESC off that seems pretty flat out to me.
In 2WD model I find it helpful to turn on eco mode when the front wheels start to slip
Interesting. It sends less power as you would start in second gear or something like that?
@@DusterCoolTravels eco mode only really decreases throttle response, so it's perfect to avoid wheel slip. Not quite the same as starting in second gear, because you still have same power and torque, only delivered slower.
Rural roads in india are more or less similar to listed road/ track. The amount of dirt these roads have, we need tractors during monsoon season.
O Duster possui motores Renault, somente gasolina e GLP.
@@hornets419 the same on france for the diesel. but there is 1.5dci 110 in france
Conclusion, you need mud tires.
SUPER.👍
This Duster isn't 4WD, it is AWD which is different. If you have 4WD you can nearly get 50% of your power to the rear and 50% to the front. Plus you can mechanically lock the differentials. The AWD system isn't developed for off roading, that's why the front and rear tyres spinning with different speed at 4:13 for example. The two front tyres also spins at different speed. If you have 4WD you can have all your tyres will spin nearly at the same speed. So it's just addittional information for it, as far as i know this is the main differencies. Otherwise, the namings are very confusing and it is not at all clear that there is any difference between AWD and 4WD at all.
That's exactly why I'm getting front and rear lockers on my AWD 08 Grand Cherokee...
@@FluffyHawk13 Thats a good idea i think!
I cant see why you should buy a Duster 2wd IF you have any offroad travel ahead or even snow roads. I have big use of my 4wd here in the north anyway. Pulling up 2wd cars up every winter : )
You’re right, especially in your area , where you have snow a lot of time during the year .
For 2wd. Not unless you got mud tires and run low psi.
I like to se this Duster with a good set of BFGOODRICH ALLTERRAIN / MUDTERRAIN TIRES. Then see what it does.

Real checking the ability of 4/4 car option
When you put the ESC off on boat conditions yours acelaration is the bouble. Its not right
Not bad. Nothing is getting up there without aggressive tires anyway.
Good Video 👍 But you press the gass pedal more what time close the esp 😉
It’s because the esp doesn’t let you rev the engine that much.

Muscular and rough n tough..

Correct order of importance to drive on this condition:
1. Tire
2. Pressure used in the tire
3. Driver
4. 4WD
I swear Only highway driven , nice clutch, single person driven
Fusca Volks simplesmente o melhor
4:14 this tire colour is really nice. Why not finding it on the market? Why different colours are not allowed?
Good
Proper off road tyres to suit the conditions you were testing in would have made a huge difference..I have all season Mitchellin cross latitude tyre's and their crap in this, when I switch to at3's the difference is night and day..

These cars are not for offroad, a lot of cars these days have 4x4 thats a normal thing these days, but having 4x4 doesn't mean its a offroader...cause most cars are not tall enough, don't have enough tire and are too heavy due to technology and comfort...russians are unbeatable in that department, even japanese and germans can't do offroaders like they can.

I see 4WD Lock written on display but it disappears just when I leave the knob.

Wow i never saw someone go full gas in mud 😂😂 i hope it was just for the video 😭
Would make better progress steering lock to lock and let the sidewalls of the tyres get you out. I used to train people in 4X4's in worse mud and snow than that and in the old boxy Dacia Dusters in the nineties that suffered a lot from wheel wind up.
Dacia duster in the 90s? Are you talking about the one built on an ARO model?
Loved the Duster, but sadly in India diesel discontinued, now only available with turbo petrol.
👍
Dear lord! What did you think leaving the ESC on? Clutch and brakes😪
That clutch was never slipping, what you guys on about?
I am sure 4WD is making a lot of difference but also you had a lot more momentum in the 4WD shots. I think to make a valid comparison you would need to keep the same constant speed on both modes. 2WD with that momentum would have gotten you up the hill also.
Well, the momentum comes from the rear wheels, it should be taken into consideration. When having 4wd you get more speed of the same trail.
and not nailing the throttle - you only put power down when the wheels are turning around the same speed as passing over the ground
