    • @seigeengine
      @seigeengine Před 6 lety

      Most people aren't using 3d printers, CNCs, laser cutters, etc. It's just that most of the people you see making stuff on places like CZcams are going to be into that kind of stuff, and if they have enough of a following to be visible, will be able to afford it.

      Spektrik of course there's nothing wrong with these machines, I would love to have them myself, I just can't afford them at the moment. And I don't hate. Discouraged means to lose enthusiasm, not to hate. As sirboi mentioned, it's the artwork itself that makes it more interesting. The more closely related to your skills it is, the more "handmade" it is to me, since homemade does not always equal handmade. Sure, it's still your creation by using these type of machines but they are then used with your computer skills together with a company's product (homemade) rather than your hand skills with hammer, saw, knives, solder iron (handmade).

    I'm not really one for commenting on videos but occasionally, I can't help myself, and i have to sign in and give credit where credit is due - this deserves an award. I love the fact that you'd never guess this was a computer. (and yes to other comments; it DOES look like a coffee machine or some-such) but I think more computers should be made like this out of the box. I think they should be selling designer art pieces that also happen to be a computer. I'd love to have the time to do this myself but it seems time is the most expensive part of a project like this. And I really love the added texture of a rope - I know many would prefer a neon LED - But I'm with you here; I like the rustic nature precisely because it is NOT scream out tech. And yes, my first concern also was dust - but you're right - just keep it clean!
    I just wanted to say - keep up the good work. Your videos are inspiring - even if I don't have time to follow through :-) Thanks for all your (albeit enjoyable) hard work, not just making it but making a video of how you made it. And congrats on your CZcams award - much deserved.

      No fun to design this stuff. I hate designing. If it wasn't for the dust I would not have a case at all. And kids fingering everything and I mean everything. Have you ever been fingered by the baby you're breast-feeding? You better believe it I have documented it all to torture her when she gets older. Can't wait :)
      Of course she needed to taste what she fingered. She came out of it so whatever. I meant her fingers you creep!

    Okay, this thing is AMAZING! The custom heatsink for the GPU is so nice. I'm a tad bit surprised you didn't use liquid metal for the copper joining, but whatever. :-) The blacktack idea was really smart. It's no wonder the thing is so quiet. I'm surprised you didn't get one of those giant fanless coolers, but again, doesn't really matter. Actually, I don't think it would look as nice as the Noctua heatsinks. The SD card reader is a very useful but under-appreciated adapter that I am very glad you added. :-) This is one of the most expensive builds you have done, so this project I won't be replicating, but it's great to watch you make it. You certainly know how to film things in a way that it's always interesting. Great job man! And congrats on over a million subs.

      pra izz Because it is relatively challenging. If you remember when linus attempted to make a mechanical keyboard, if you've seen that, he just got a bunch of pre assembled pieces that just lock together no soldering required which jacked up the price and skewed his perception on what you can do and what it would cost

      Because this requires actual effort, and why do all this when you can just churn out fairly low effort videos and still earn decent money?

    I have always been a fan of custom PC rigs (I steampunk my ones) but this is seriously something else. Its rather relaxing to watch. First time viewer here, subbed straight after watching :) Keep up the good work, will now need to binge watch rest of your vids.

    I simply can not get enough of your content, I'll be striving to build similar things on my channel and will reference your channel every time I build something inspired by you!

    That's awesome. Great job on the Million subs, many more to come I'm sure.
    The videos are of great quality - both editing and video quality. The content is great as well. Love the original computer builds, ya need to do a few more of them..
    The dust issue will be great as there are no fans - I find my system(s) seem to collect dust on the fans and near them. Your videos are a pleasure to watch - just content and no fuss.
    Thanks 🍻 🇨🇦

    When I heard him say “the cable is almost 70 pounds” I just though “how could a cable weigh 70 pounds, and the I realized he was talking about money.
