    Your nursery is looking so clean and well taken care of, with lots of beautiful healthy looking trees. We can see how much you care about Bonsai. You did a splendid job on that dwarf Scots Pine by the way.

    The expertise inherent to being able to identify the particular nursery the foliage is likely to have come from...!! It’s like watching a master sommelier taste a glass of red wine and then narrow down on the country, the region, the sub-region, even the vineyard!

    The R.A.F. Scots pine is superb, like all of that batch that passed through Bill's hands. The shimpaku in the beginning is one of the best in this country, at least that I've seen.

    Bjorn, the format of this new series is AWESOME! ... and so is the pine you were asking us for feedback. On a side note, I love how at 1:56 you're just standing there filming Cameron while he's sweeping, and again at 10:14. My kids are only 2 and 4 now, but I look forward to the day I can do the same while they do the dishes.

    Hey Bjorn. You've made a very practical storage area under your tokonoma, but I did notice one flaw. Sliding doors that hang on rails from bogey wheels, like yours, generally hang slightly off vertical. The normal solution is to install a set of guides on the floor. They're cheap and usually made of plastic so that they do not scrape the door face. In your case, they would be completely hidden behind the bottom rail of your construction.

    • @JohnnyGreenroom
      @JohnnyGreenroom Před 3 lety +1

      Yeh I agree, likewise to be total constructive the pine doors used are ugly.. such a nice area is not complimented by them. No issues if it will always be edited out of photo's, but just to lend a design eye, a laminated white MDF would blend with the top and back round, you could try painting them white a few times, or to be really nice the same cedar in the frame, maybe with a simple rectangular routed beading - but would need to decide this after installation. Love everything you do Bjorn! Thanks

    Brilliant video Bjorn - please let’s have more!! A question about the Scots pine. Absolutely stunning - a real inspiration. However, at 4 minutes 55 seconds, it to shows a branch that you worked on that is covered in raffia and wire; this appears to be a bar branch? Is this not something that we should avoid in bonsai? I’m continually removing bar branches and then I see your fabulous tree and wonder if I’ve missed-understood?

    I have a question, I don’t think you’ll end up seeing the comment but why not. I live in Michigan and I always make sure the hardiness of the trees matches Michigan and if not I put them inside under a light. But if you know anything up blue spruces which I recently climbed to the top in my yard to gather 4 cones for seeds. How long do you reckon it would be in order for those trees to be bonsai ready. Btw I’m a sophomore in high school and really want in on this hobby but don’t have money to buy a semideveloped tree
