Always great to see new content from Bjorn ❤
And always beautifully shot and edited. Thanks for sharing 🙏
Wow! This is THE most thorough explanation of watering that i have ever come across in 1 spot. Thank u so much....excellent information!
Thank you for sharing the video.
While you didn’t share any hard and fast rules (because there are none) what I learned is to always be open and pay attention to the tree, it’s needs and be prepared to continually adjust what you think you know.
Bonsai tonight has a great podcast with jonas dupuich that talks about watering. A good source of info
Watering trees takes time to figure out but most importantly consistency. Its easy to water 2-3 days at the beginning then taper and forget to water. Until you get disciplined in remembering to water or not to water is the experience over time. I live in South Florida so it rains more often but we cant grow may species from the west. So sticking to trees from your area also helps in keeping them alive. That's my humble experience.
In Australia where I live , any of my trees in free draining soil need water twice a day minimal in our climate gets so annoying some days if there's wind aswell as heat haha
Here in Tampa, Florida, everytime I water, I feel the weight of the of the trees in the pots before and after I water, as well as see how fast or slow the water sinks through the soil. Both help me out when to determine to water.
A well detailed review on watering our Bonsai. Lots of specific aspects covered. Thank you.
I am seeing n looking from a far.
Watering treatment for a Bonsai.
Beautiful Bonsai Collection Sir.
Thank for your sharing video.
Absolutely fabulous collection. You are so lucky.
Excellent content, Bjørn! Thank you!
Thankyou very much Bjorn, part 1 of a 10 part series?hehe.... our hobby isn't bonsai, its watering
How do I water my bonsai is one of the hardest quests I get. I tell them learn to (your tree ) water and watch how fast it drys out and water it again when it is drying out. But I know that don't work with every tree. Great video. I leave something new every time I watch you.
Watering is tricky. I had to figure it out myself. I wish I had this video when I was starting lol.
Bjorn thank you very much for sharing this very interesting video!👍👍👍💯
Your videos are so cool , I love how you plug in footage from other areas / times
I enjoy watching your videos. greetings from Spain 🤗
Totally According To You!
Really well done video you hit on everything I was wondering about - reaffirming things I knew AND teaching me new things. 🤙🏻
Always love to see your videos fella and your trees
Great video 👍👍
Amazing content! Thank you very much Sir
I really appreciate the clear and concise lesson, thank you.
Can you explain what the soil looks/feels like when you determine whether a tree needs watering, and give specific case studies. Like this one gets watered typically twice a day in the heat of summer, but once a day in spring & fall, while this one gets water only once every 1-2 days because etc etc. I know no expert likes to give specifics, but it's all still so vague!!! I rarely water mine twice a day (SF bay area), and I'm wondering if I could go a little more on my higher water mobility species.
Excellent explanations ! Thanks
Nice nice bonsai👍👍❤️❤️🌳🌲
Great info!
I live in South Louisiana, it gets very hot here, so I use a thicker soil, and just pay attention to my trees. I just returned from Colorado, the three trees that I harvested are doing great down here!
Thank you 😊
Very helpful. Thanks. I was wondering the best soil moisture level for Itoigawa
Bagus sekali...pejelasan nya mantap..👍👍👍 sukses selalu..
bonsai bonsai istimewa👍👍👍
You have the best video's
Bonsai is 90% watering and 10% art.
Great video as always man. Great audio, is that that a wireless DJI mic?
in europe zeolithe is a bit cheaper than akadama and have a bir better ratio of water and fertilizer retention
Bạn chia sẽ kinh nghiệm rất hay, chúc bạn nhiều sức khỏe thành công trong công việc, 👍👍
Why doesn’t your substrate go flying everywhere like mine does when I water it? 😂 Same kind of hose too
No kidding, teach us that secret!
Should the Itoigawa in particular be kept moist or more dry?
I have had the most problems with this variety so far.
The one seed juniper looks to be grafted with other types of foliage. How does that affect the watering?
Is drip irrigation not a good idea? Consistent, slow, deep watering seems best, with the addition of misting system
How important is it to use rainwater opposite to hard tap water?
Hi, I'm planning to transform my front yard and backyard into a Japanese tea house garden with bonsai here in Southern California.
My question is, can I import all the trees, moss, plants, etc... from Japan?
Yes, a container shipments of stuff from Japan. Can you please get in contact with me. Thanks.

Such a difficult subject, which on the surface appears to be the easiest.
I don't know if you realize this, but there is a mole attempting to burrow into your shirt.
