Thanks Shannon! Love how you used the movie To All The Boys I've Loved Before for the opening.
Thank you Gabrielle!
Hello, this is a kind greeting from Taiwan. Thanks for your incredible sharing. I enjoy it a lot and glad to know more about the law industry in the UK. Stay safe and take care:)
Loved your intro! So cute and creative
Thank you Miriam! Hoping to up my creativity and do more interesting bits in the future ☺️
Totally agree with the power of networking! I got offered 2 paralegal jobs through networking and it has been such a great learning experience. Also, being a law student working as a paralegal in a top tier firm, the imposter syndrome is definitely real, hopefully one day I will be just as confident as you when I start my training contract!
That is amazing you secured your roles through networking! I very much relate to your comments about imposter syndrome - I felt the same when I worked at a firm as a student! Confidence is definitely something that has come with time for me. I have written an article about building confidence if you are interested - inhousepotter.com/developing-confidence-in-law/
It is possible to be part of your co.even I'm in the Philippines?
Did you work when you were still in the law school? If so, where? I’m hopefully starting my studies this autumn and have no idea what opportunities are available in the UK, as I’m an international student😊 Loved your video, very helpful!!
I studied law at UCL and worked as a brand ambassador for a law firm (representing them on campus) and also as a research assistant for my Tutor. These opportunities should exist at any law faculty, just keep your ears and eyes open!
Definitely agree with Miriam’s comment that there are lots of opportunities just through university! Even just getting involved in things like mooting, negotiation competitions, societies, etc. adds a lot to your CV. I did work part time while finishing my Masters degree and the rest of my roles were all full time. If you are starting your first year I recommend keeping your eye out for the activities I’ve already mentioned, and also looking to apply for open days/insight evenings etc. at firms.
I’m from linked in!!!
