    The Macmillan and Templar crosses are a sight to behold, as are the many Iona school and Awe school grave slabs.
    One of the most stunning sites we have visited to date.

      One of the Clans descendants George MacMillan started the Town of Roundup in Montana. The Historical society there knows about him and recognizes him there but doesn't know much more. He is my Great, Great, Great Grandfather and our family has more History to give them. MacMillan's everywhere!

      Thank you for watching! It's a stunning site, isn't it? As for the volume query. We have recently noticed it is dependant on what device you are viewing it on. Though will attempt to tweak future videos. ๐Ÿค—

    Amazing craftsmanship on those Celtic crosses. Love your accent. You have done your research very well. I know who to ask for when we one day come to Scotland for a tour. Interesting headstones. Fancy having your heart taken away! Thank you for an amazing tour. I hope they continue to preserve these amazing headstones for many years to come. Have a great week and thank you for an informative and excellent episode, cheers ~ Joseph

      Glad you enjoyed it. We are literally tripping over old sites like this, we are so lucky they have an element of preservation. ๐Ÿค—

    So with your research, do you feel the MacMillan clan was in anyway involved with the Templars? Since the clan had ecclesiastical roots, it would seem a natural fit.

      With stuff I have read, I think it could certainly be possible. Lack of actual written records mean possible is as definite as I am prepared to be.
      The issue with a lot of stories is that they are traditional, word of mouth, and will change each time they are recounted. There are traditional tales of Joan of Arc using Kintyre as a training ground! so we should exercise caution ๐Ÿ˜‰

      @@ExploringScotlandsHistory thanks so much for your reply. I enjoy your videos. The fact there is a templar cross on Alexander's cross, just before stating this cross belongs to him is certainly a clue. I didn't realize until your video how many templar type crosses were in the Kilmory chapel. Thanks so much!!!!!

    I loved this - and the key to get in! Woah! A question: if the comb wasn't a hair comb, what other type of comb is it?

    • @ExploringScotlandsHistory
      @ExploringScotlandsHistory  Pล™ed 4 lety +1

      Often a comb would signify the wool trade i.e. carding of wool required a comb ๐Ÿค—
