- I recently made 4 of these wooden phone and accessory desk organizers for someone. They feature a spot to hold your phone, watch, sun glasses, keys, change, and anything else you might have in your pockets. They are made from walnut, and were finished with lacquer. I used my table saw, router table, a few different sanders, and my Shapeoko cnc router.

Nice project Chris. The walnut looks great with the lacquer finish. I never thought of gluing the back to the base, I tell folks that if they stay in hotels a lot that they can take it with them. Also are the seals V-carved or laser?
Thanks for all of the great videos. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! They are v carved using my Shapeoko.
This looks stunning! At What degrees did you cut the bottom?
They look great. What sort of lacquer do use? And what grit sandpaper do you finish with before lacquering?
Rustoleum Clear Gloss Lacquer. I think I went to 320 grit on these.

These are beautiful Chris! What CNC machine did you use?
Thank you. It’s a Shapeoko XXL.
Nice work, where do you get walnut planks that big?
It was only 7”x3/4”. I get it at my local lumber yard.
like your flag vids a lot. Do you have dxfs for this dock station for dimensions ?
Hi Chris.
I really enjoyed watching your video of this project.
Just curious, are you still making these? (Specifically the US Navy model)
If so, what might it cost for me to have one made?
It’s been a while since I’ve made one. I used to get $80 for them. Email me if you’re interested. Chris@fullsteamdesigns.com

Don’t be a worm
Cool project. Where do you get your material?
I got the board I used for this project from Berlin G Myers. That’s a mistake I won’t be making again.
Nice job .what angle did you put on the back .
I think it was just whatever looked good. This is an old project.
Hey man, great work. What glue did you use on the phone blocks? Why not regular wood glue? Thanks in advance.
Thanks. It was CA glue. I had to make 4 of these, so it was just a little faster.
@@ChrisPowellFSD thanks! I’ll keep watching. I’m gonna make this with different size strips of walnut and ash.
@@ChrisPowellFSD thanks man. Last question, what is the price point in a project like that. I’m terrible at pricing things.
Brilliant project Chris...you wouldn't still have the CNC file would you please 😁
Sorry that’s long gone.
@@ChrisPowellFSD no worries I've been asked to make one...and your design looks perfect
Which dimensions of this wood desk edc you used it? And can you tell me a any advice how to start make for my self like this one?
I think it was like 7 or 8 inches wide and tall. I can’t really think of anything else besides what’s in the video.
did you have a stamp or have to engrave the bird yourself neat
I used the cnc for that also.
Are there plans for this available??
These look great!! Where did you get the CNC file to make it?
Thanks. I just designed it myself using Carbide Create
can you please name the machine whenever you are using like subtitles for a learners
How much time did you spend on each piece?
I did them in a batch
what wood is it?
Walnut
Diy enter program in cnc machine and final product comes out haha
I aspire to be at the level where I feel qualified to comment on something when I obviously haven’t watched the whole video. Or even half. Or even just one minute...
