  • I recently made 4 of these wooden phone and accessory desk organizers for someone. They feature a spot to hold your phone, watch, sun glasses, keys, change, and anything else you might have in your pockets. They are made from walnut, and were finished with lacquer. I used my table saw, router table, a few different sanders, and my Shapeoko cnc router.

    Nice project Chris. The walnut looks great with the lacquer finish. I never thought of gluing the back to the base, I tell folks that if they stay in hotels a lot that they can take it with them. Also are the seals V-carved or laser?
    Thanks for all of the great videos. Keep up the good work.

    They look great. What sort of lacquer do use? And what grit sandpaper do you finish with before lacquering?

    • @ChrisPowellFSD
      @ChrisPowellFSD  Před 4 lety +1

      Rustoleum Clear Gloss Lacquer. I think I went to 320 grit on these.

    Hi Chris.
    I really enjoyed watching your video of this project.
    Just curious, are you still making these? (Specifically the US Navy model)
    If so, what might it cost for me to have one made?

    • @ChrisPowellFSD
      @ChrisPowellFSD  Před 4 lety

      It’s been a while since I’ve made one. I used to get $80 for them. Email me if you’re interested. Chris@fullsteamdesigns.com
