Kongma La | Day 05 EBC and Three Passes Trek

- The trek to Kongma La was indeed the most diverse trail on the EBC and Three Passes trek. Day 05 started from the village of Chukhung (4700 m) and we were able to cross the first pass named Kongma La (5540 m). You will be spending quite some time above 5000 meter on Day 05 so make sure that your body is properly acclimatized.
.
There are no water sources on the trail so make sure that you carry enough water with you. Lobuche (5000 m) has good number of accommodation options so need for pre-booking. The most important tip for the day when you would cross Kongma La will be to start as early as possible. Kongma la is at 5540 meter so the weather could switch sides at any point of time so better to pick a clear weather day and start as early as possible.

your videos are so natural and surreal manav, while watching sometimes it feels like i am physically present in that place
😍🤩. Appreciate your patience and commitment, great job.
Thank you so much 😀 Means a lot.
I recently (April 2023) did this pass & your video is epic & captured Kongma La pass brilliantly!! Thanks for the awesome, detailed videos ❤
Thank you
Wonderful... keep Rocking...
Thank you

Thank you :)
Exquisite landscape.😃 🔥🤩
It really is! :)
Beautifulllll views 😍
Thanks for visiting
Beautiful 🏔️❤️
It really is!
Wonderful video and series Manav. Still remember the 200 m ascent section (at 4 min in your video) - struggled a lot carrying a 12 kg backpack (mostly camera equipments) and also had to wait out a sudden 2 hour whiteout due to strong winds.
It's Tibetian Snowcocks I think (based on white ear coverts and chestnut tail). There are usually many in the chukung and Gokyo region. (Carry a 2.5 kg lens for birding🙂). Himalayan snowcocks also share the range but Tibetian more common here I think.
Thank you very much for the insight on the Tibetian Snowcocks. So glad to know about them.
😍😍😍
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
🙏

Thanks
Finally meals that weren't dal bhat😂 Amazing video! Excited for the base camp day!
Haha .. thanks bhai. It will be all Pizza and pasta from here onwards.
Hi Creedaz, Love your videos, great work. Just 1 suggestion, I think whenever posting multiple videos of 1 adventure having sequence number in the title is very helpful. Eg da Kongma La | day 1 EBC and Three Passes . Anywhere in the title will help.
Sure. Will add right away. Thnk you
Beautiful video. I fly to Nepal in a week to take on this trek. I hope the weather is just as good as it was for you!

Fingers crossed. All the best to you.
nice bro
Thanks
Great video! I will be there in March. You seem to travel very light. You didn't need a sleeping bag?
You don't need a sleeping bag. There are lodges and they provide you with accommodation and food. They even give you an extra blanket if required.
Hello great video 🙏👌😊 could you please tell me in which month you did the passes ? Thank you :)
October (14th to 23rd)
"Nice and Slow" and "Nice and Easy"
Thank you Shivansh
धन्यवाद भाइयों !!
काफी helpful विडियो आपलोगों ने बनाया है,
मुझे भी EBC with 3 pass जाने का सपना है वो भी काफी जल्द,
मेरी उम्र 56 है physically मैं कुछ हद तक fit भी हूं और mentally भी मैं तैयार हूं... i know this Trek will be too much challenging & hard for me at this age पर ये दिल बोलता है तू ये कर,,,
Just please suggest me
I'll Thankful please give suggestions.
20th Oct se 15th November achcha time hai. Aap bilkul kar saktey jo ye trek.
Great! Which month did you go?
October second half
Manav you r an inspiration❤. Had a query, “Between March-April and October weather wise which is a better month to go”. Especially would prefer a period where cold will be lesser?
October has clearer skies as compared to March - April. October is much colder than March - April but the days are pretty clear and hence hot. At night the teahouses are well equipped to keep one self warm.
My suggestion: 15th October - 15th Novemver
@@Creedaz Thanks. This gives me good clarity. Recently did 4 ghat routes near Kudpan Mahableshwar. You can read the first part of the trek on my blog. Type Amit Marathe blogs on Google. Have written 11 blogs on my treks thru the Sahyadri s. Do read if time permits and share feedback. Cheers Amit
@@amitmarathe232 Sure Amit. Will definitely read them. I also did the following route in November;
Pratapgad - Selar Khind - Kudpan Khurd - Vadgaon - Mahipatgad - Wadi Beldar
I did this as part of the Lonavala to Mahipatgad trek (300 km)
You can connect on whatsapp 8946823824
Could you please give an idea as to how much did you spend on entire trip ? I am planning to do solo till EBC.

You can find the details here.
Great video! Is the trail from Chukhung to Kongma La Pass marked or is it tough to find the way in that section?
It is marked. Nothing much to worry about. But it is always better to learn how to navigate using an offline navigation application
Cool! Could you suggest any offline application? Thanks
