Okay, picking and flipping that frame with the skidsteer is probably the safest way I've ever seen someone on CZcams do that. Very smooth and safe on your own that way. The forks inside the rails, the strap tension inside the cab. Great work.
I suggest you invest in a lapel microphone as when you step slightly away form the camera the sound degrades a lot! Since you are taking the time to explain what you are doing it would be nice to be able to hear you!
I love it ❤. You have inspired me to start my own build. I was actually thinking what to do to my box truck bed is going bad. and thank God I came across this video
I dig it! I wouldn't mind having a van truck myself. Seems like a good cab and plenty of strength in those chassis. I had a 2001 standard length e350 I drove for a couple years. Nicely done!
Hello🙋♂️ from the Netherlands🇳🇱 . i am new to this channel . looking forward to the continuation of the build . thanks for the video . Sincerely, Hollandduck 🇳🇱🦆
I’ve been designing the flatbed for my 08 Cummins. The back body is starting to rust out as they all do in New England and it’s time to do something about it. Unfortunately my bed is only a 6’ shortbed. I need to have fuel storage in it so I can fuel up when I go to the “mainland” (I live on a island) so my plan is to build the bed as a fuel tank itself. So the 4” channel will be sealed too and bottom with plate. I should get around a 100 gal tank if my calc’s are right. That way I’ll still have all the bed space usable. And if I really wanna juice up I can toss my 100gal portable tank on there too!
Everybody gets told something different for different reasons. Going on my class A driving and heavy wrecker experience, the fifth should aways be just ahead of center trunion or center axle. But I've heard everything under the sun. Thanks for watching.
Very nice job buddy I really like that you did a good job got a question for you what kind of drill bits you using cuz those drill bits seem like they're cutting really good if you could let me know I like to try to get me a decent set thank you very much appreciate job on there thank you thank you
I, bought a 89, ford f-350 E van just like you got cut the back out of the cab and added a 77, dodge 2 door ext cab then built a steel tilt flat bed and added another AXLE behind the factory rear AXLE with air bags for added weight it's a 460/ c6 auto
@@andersonpropertymaintenanc952 it’s nice and clear. Nicely done by the way. The bed looks like it’s going to be great. Nights in the shop are spectacular when you’re fabricating. You got a new fan here in Wisconsin
You probably have seen the Chanel jc smith. I can’t remember the name of the cutting bits he uses for his mag drill. I think it’s a helical cutter. Very nice holes and sharpen able. Any how nice work great Chanel
Yes, I do like his channel, and I'm a subscriber to him. I actually found him when I was researching how to move an axle on my dump truck, as there wasn't a single shop within 50 miles of me that would touch the job. I used his electrical conduit and a pencil idea to mark my holes, and was the reason I bought the mag drill to begin with. I have annular cutters, just not that big. I think I have from 7/16 to 1 1/16, and a 1 7/8. They work amazing. But they're expensive (relatively) and are not available locally to me. I have to order online. Thanks for the compliments.
It weighs about 1000 lbs completed. I Imagine similar bodies on these chassis weight is comparable, for example a penske box truck. Also, this was an ambulance with a 6k lb body on it. For it's intended purpose, it is not going to be too heavy for a 14,500 GVW chassis. I'll weigh the total rig after i take the sander off it to get an accurate weight.
The chop saw does great. The circular saw, not so much. But the circular saw blades are relatively cheap. So for the clean cut and convenience, it's worth it. Although, I have a few gripes about the circular saw. Probably would get a different brand.
@@andersonpropertymaintenanc952 everybody has their own likings I will say this you can lay down some dimes I can't wait to see what it looks like finished
Its an Evolution 9" metal cutting saw. I would highly recommend buying another brand. Milwaukee makes a much better saw. The saw I used in this video has since shithebed.
Noted. Thank you. I am using free software on a big box store computer. It's not the easiest to get done. But I will on future videos at least set the music at 50 percent. Hopefully someday I can get software that has audio leveling features. Thanks for the input.
@@peteryeung111 my first welder was a Hobart 140 Handler which was 110 Volt Welder. it is incredible what you can get done with even a small 110 welder. I also did not see the need to spend the big money on the more well-known brands that just had more complicated circuitry and computers. this welder was inexpensive I can add a spool gun to it and it does all the things I needed to do. my next one will be an industrial size welder that has a better duty cycle and can handle heavier wire
@@andersonpropertymaintenanc952 You are correct and thank you for your valuable advice. As a hobbyist and did a bit of research, I’m looking at Lincoln, Hobart and Miller. Where did you find that cab chassis ambulance?
Local upfitter that swaps old bodies onto new chassis.
That turned out sweet. excited to see how it turns out. What kind of gas motor is in that bad boy?
Thanks! It's a V10. All I know lol. Not a ford guy. Got lots of go though.

Just a simple gopro 8. Some on my cell phone.

Awesome
Where did you get the cab back or back wall??? Love it!
Came with it. Google van cab back. They are available in all different sizes for ford and Chevy.
Thats a P.L. ambulance. If it came from Maine you prob got from sugerloaf. Would be a yellow sticker in door jamb. I prob built that in mid 2000s
It did come from Sugarloaf. But it's a 2016.
Great job. Subbd.
WOW!
cool
Very nice how much is the back cab piece cost

Talking about the price of the mudflats and hardware after slamming the chrome bumper and tail light on the ground😂
Lol. I guess that seems silly. But the aluminum bumper went to scrap.
Why would you cut off material out of the chassis, shortening your working surface?
For gooseneck trailer clearance. And the material I bought was 12 feet long.
I really your job I have the E450 I want to buy the back and the cap the fiberglass can you please send me the link appreciate it man. Thank you.
Google cabbacks.
That evolution blade last long cutting mild steel?

You should look into Fein saws. They make some of the best metal cutting saws in the world.
I have never seen a flatbed built backwards on the outside railing
