Finland had prohibition between 1919-1932. After that there has been rules for buying alcohol: "Uuno Turhapuro - Bottle of Booze (English Subtitles)".

In the old days buying alcohol was like, bottles didnt have labels and you had to present a reason for buying alcohol like "we have a wedding". There was even this booze card until 70's that linited how much one can buy.

Yes, but until the beginning of the nineties, the pontikka soup culture was still in force, then it was replaced by cheap beer, vodka, etc. from Estonia, it wasn't worth doing anymore, of course there are still manufacturers, but not nearly on the same scale as before.
