Rangers vs Celtic is good, but those clubs never had a Maradona, a Riquelme, Aimar, Mascherano, Crespo, Batistuta... And that clubs (Rangers and Celtic) doesn't are good enough to win in their continents (champions league), because in Europe are other teams stronger than them, and in southamerica Boca and River are the greatest with 1 or 2 brazilian teams. There are some differences.

They both play in the same league so they'll be continued to be scheduled to play each other. 70% of the country supports either of those 2 clubs. So the game is extremely important to majority of the country. You may have a bigger backlash if you just stopped it from happening.

Yet north England is a place of massive poverty, drug addiction, despair, urban blight that lead to the growth of hooligan culture. People have put their hearts and souls to try bring back industry, implement urban redevelopment projects, improve infrastructure, create tech startups and much more. Yet north England remains economically depressed and stagnant. That region has still not recovered from it's decline in the 1970s due to the effects of deindustrialization and decolonization. The world is more complicated than it is presented in a documentary. Telling people to put all their passion into bettering their country only goes so far.

LOL I have gone many times to Bernabeu stadium with a Barça shirt, nothing happened. In Argentina you would get wagged. Here in Spain people don't even chant let alone stand up or bounce, in Buenos Aires you know life is at stake and the whole stadiums literally tremble.
Europe can afford better players from all over the world, Boca and River just locals. But the adrenaline you feel in Buenos Aires is about x100 times higher.
