😡It’s bad enough that Bob Iger has defiled Walt’s legacy with full on woke corporate politics! But now they want to resurrect him into an animatronic and destroy one of his animatronics?! WTF?! Let the man rest in peace already! You took his park! You soiled his good family name! You tarnished his legacy! You destroyed his favorite rides! Please don’t do this! Let Walt Disney rest in peace! I first saw “Mr. Lincoln” in 1967 at age 11. At no time did I or anyone else that I saw believe that this was anything other than a machine. I even recognized Royal Dano’s voice. So, what’s going on here? They want to make a Walt Disney animatronic? What will they have him say? Will “Walt” espouse gender ideology? Will “Walt” be “non-binary?” (just the thought of such an image is nauseating) Will “Walt” tell us that SOTS is “racist” and “The Marvels” is a timeless masterpiece? Will “Walt” tell audiences to vote for “brandon”? I have no faith whatsoever that Iger the Terrible and his High Priestesses of Woke will make anything resembling a family friendly attraction.
I was 7 years old in 1968 and saw the Lincoln show, it was great and I still love it's message and presentation. To bad this company now doesn't hold Walts values and beliefs anymore.
When I went to Disney University (a long time ago) they told us to always ask "What would Walt do?"
As far as I can tell, they still ask this and then do the opposite.
It's probably annoying as heck to Iger that he can't put an animatronic of himself in saying "Welcome to My park!"
I remember on the old ticket books there was a special ticket just to see Great Moments With Mr Lincoln.
Disney as a company is transitioning more and more into a ‘Black Mirror’ episode with every decision they make. Meanwhile, the Oriental Land Company is keeping Walt’s ACTUAL dream alive in Japan.
I know it’ll probably never happen but I really wish that the oriental land company would be able to run the us parks one day
It's great to know that they want to put an animitronic Walt in the park. That should have been done years ago with him explaining his dreams and plans. But Walt loved Abe Lincoln and would be disgusted at the thought of taking him out. It's also sad that people don't flock to this attraction because you get to see probably one of the best examples of audio animitronics. But it makes sense that this woke company now would want to get rid of Abe because of his conservative beliefs.
Interesting direction coming from the Bob corporation that has been looking to remove Walt from the company and go against everything he stood for.
They should remove Abraham Lincoln and replace him with a state-of-the-art audio-animatronic of Tiana.
There was a time Lincoln was on vacation. For the 50th, they did a temporary show about Disneyland starring Steve Martin and Donald Duck. It lasted several years before they moved the film to the lobby and brought back Lincoln

I think an audio animatronic of Mr. Disney is kind of problematic for the Disney company that exists today. If they faithfully represent Mr Disney (have him act and say what Walt would have done and said), that would be hypocritical and stand out as a glaring contradiction between Walt's vision and Iger's new reality. If they have animatronic Walt spouting today's DEI nonsense and, literally or figuratively, giving the finger to the audience (as today's Disney seems to be doing), that's going to offend a large portion of old school Disney fans. So maybe they should not include an animatronic Walt at all.

I think a robotic version of Walt would be as inappropriate as the "homage" to Frank Wells inside the Matterhorn ride. Just lacking in taste.
I knew this was coming, ever since Disney went political. There's no way they could leave a tribute to the most prominent Republican president in history intact and untouched.
Oh my God there is absolutely no truth to this rumor let me fill you in on exactly what they are doing since I go there almost every other day because I live within walking distance and actually know people that work at the park.
In honor of Lincoln's 60th anniversary which occurred on April 22nd of this year they are reinstalling the original 1964 World's Fair version with the latest animatronic. They are absolutely not installing any Walt Disney animatronic LOL that is just the dumbest rumor anybody could come up with.
I've never been to the California park and seen this attraction. But I think it would be cool for Walt (animatronic) to introduce Lincoln. Or Walt introduce the presidents in America pavilion in Epcot.
Mostly nickel and dime repairs is all that Disney is capable of doing anymore. Disney Imagineers, what happened to your imagination?
The last ride all of the good imagineers worked on before Disney chased them out by forcing them to move to Florida or lose their jobs, was the avengers e ticket quinjet ride. That ride looked amazing and probably would have been the best Disney ride ever built even more so than rise of the resistance. But it’s sad that iger cancelled it because he wanted to do an avengers ride on the cheap.

Walt and his family specifically said they don’t want that. This corrupt company should not be allowed to manipulate his likeness to their advantage to get away with destroying his work and rides like Splash Mountain. It’s just in bad taste like everything else they’ve done and there’s a reason they kept him as a statue all these years.

I’ve loved the Lincoln exhibit; but they need something else after 60 years. Some time ago the Walt Disney story was a pre-show for Lincoln. I think if done well with a Walt animatronic in his office setting, it could be a huge hit. Please do it.

It would sound better, without redundancy, if you said, "Like this video if you enjoyed it", Jonas, instead of repeating "like" and "video" twice. Just my two cents on that.
They had one man's dream in the Opera House back in 2005 during their 50 year anniversary. I really enjoyed the one man's dream exhibit. Well Great Moments with Mr Lincoln is a classic attraction that Walt Disney helped create, having grown up with the opportunity to see both attractions, one man's dream was my preferred of the two. I think an audio animatronic Walt Disney would fit really nicely. it just depends on how tastefully they incorporate it.
Also Walt himself said that Disneyland would never be finished. During his time working on the parks attractions changed and evolved. I don't think updating an attraction would upset him. It really depends on how tastefully that update is done. The Walt Disney company is doing far more upseting things than replacing an audio animatronic that I think would bother Walt much more.
If it was anybody else other than the Bobb Iger corporation I would trust that they would do it with a little bit of deference and respect but but everyone within positions of power and middle management and executive controls Hey controls hate Walter Elias Disney.
And his brother Roy Oswald Disney.
It is not the audio etc. it is the speech clips, original, from President Lincoln. it is the multiple perspectives on what liberty means to the Americans. It has a section .that clearly indicates that if America moves away from Liberty then we will die as a nation by suicide.
We are at that junction now. It is not surprising that a new presentation is underway. If your reason for attending is to marvel at technology and not the words spoken...you have moved away from Liberty now.
I hope this is not a degradation of the purpose that Walt pursued, respect for our history, but Iger and company have no respect of those hopes, dreams that lead to liberty for all
Walt is nothing but another character to them now.
I always like the Great moments. even the version that many didn't like, the one that used the headphones. the audio was great. The only time these people trot out Walt is when they need to push nostalgia to sell things or promote to the pixie dusters. These people HATE Walt! They've left him out of shows, anniversaries, tried to take his name off of WDW and more. They should turn the light out at his apartment, because his spirit has long been removed and killed not only in his park, but in his company as well!
They will just try to use it to make wlat seem likenhe supports the current direction of disney by using the audio to say things walt would mever say/agree with
I wouldn't mind an attraction based on Walt himself (In fact they should make a dark ride about him!) Just not at the expense of Lincoln.
