I'm sorry that your are lonely. I'm in a similar situation (even though I'm german) and I think many people are. Your videos are really nice and interesting. They give us Germans a new perspective on our country as well as on the UK. :)
And to all Brits out there who are thinking about moving to Germany: Come if you can. We need new people and Germans are in general quite welcoming (I hope).
Deutschland ist einfach wunderbar!
Bureaucracy is a pain in the neck for most Germans as well. And we mostly don't understand that special bureaucratic language that is used in all that needed paperwork. Not even university graduates do unless they have studied law. Also it's the same all over Germany, there are only very slight differences and always depends on the person processing your matter. Good luck, nice to have you here!
Sweet Summer child, join a club! That's the German way to make friends
I heard that many Brits live in the Frankfurt area. It might be easier to start here, where you re not completely on your own.
I m sorry you had to go throught all of this alone.
Greetings from the rhine main area 👋
Hey Brother how are you :) I know what you mean post Brexit. It aint easy. I just got back from Alicante in Spain. Its a magical place and a combination of many countries I travelled too growing up with an awesome northern European feel too in the Sun. I literally was researching apartments for 3 weeks straight and within 11 days there me and my partner had meeting each and everyday. 3 Lawyers meetings, 2 power of attorney meetings, 3 bank meetings and 2 visitations to the apartment plus a few viewings. Its was totally manic however by the end we managed to get the first step to residency and got a mortgage lined up. We are moving in Sep/October. Its an amazing place and cannot believe we managed to do so much in such a short time. If you decide you want to visit let me know :) will be great to see you. After this Brexit it was the final straw and cannot wait to go out there full time :) I got the primary business and a second one lined up....Solid plan.
No wonder young Brits wants out - basically Europe has so much more to offer than the UK. Europe suffers less from the class system too though even those remnants are finally dying out (abolition of the monarchy a long time ago). Germany is indeed a wonderful country. If you want to make a new life you can no matter how hard it is. I left the UK 20 years ago and moved to Luxembourg and have a fantastic life. Here's hoping to Scottish independence and then Scotland will rejoin the EU. Well done to you for showing it is possible and for having the courage to do something about it!
Also Scottish and moved to Luxembourg and now over the border in Trier !
@@scarbaHello from a Brit also living in Trier!
@@richharvey530 oh we are thin on the ground, never seen one in the wild, (well camouflaged), except happy tourists at the Christmas market. Do you like it here?
@@scarba We know of a few other living here, but for the most, i think we keep a low profile. Trier has it's charms & quirks with we both enjoy, the only issue we find is alot of interesting places and other cities are a fair distance away. However living here is a stepping stone as partner works in Luxembourg at present but looking at the possiblity of a transfer to Frankfurt in the future.
@@richharvey530 I agree it’s very provincial. You have to go to Cologne or somewhere for a bit of culture. My partner works over the border too but I have young adult kids so I’m stuck here. Ideally I would like to live near the Dutch border.
Join a club mate! In the same situation as you as a brit, luckily have had school to get to know people but clubs are a great way to get to know people! Finding a cool music scene is also an amazing way of getting to know people, even if you don't play yourself
Willkommen in Deutschland . Ich bin selber auch halb britisch . Leider wurde ich nicht zweisprachig aufgezogen aber Deutsch ist ja jetzt deine Landessprache 😉.
@whatsapp➕❶❻❺⓿❼❻❶❹⓿❶❺ Damn Spammer. >You sukk, BIG TIME
As a German, I often can't understand why so many people want to come to Germany of all places. We already have almost 84 million inhabitants. The rents in the big cities are hardly affordable. The employees in the immigration authorities are completely unable to keep up with applications for asylum and immigration. I also find it strange that some people always see Germany as a kind of emergency solution when things are going downhill in their European home country. The wages aren't the best either. I would be interested to know what fascinates people about Germany. I wouldn't advise anyone to come here at the moment. Maybe 10 years ago. But not now.
I think as a German you may be biased. I was lucky enough to grow up and live in the UK, Spain, Japan and Germany. For me if I were to choose a place, which one is the best? Spain by far for its climate and social life. Do I recommend it? Never, unless you are lucky enough to get a good job. Everything you mention in the comment is the same as in Germany but much worse. Regarding the UK, I would say it is halfway between Germany and Spain. Wages adjusted to the cost of living are even in London well below what you can earn in Frankfurt, Berlin or Munich. Only Switzerland is better in Europe. Housing is also very hard to find and the quality is often surprisingly bad. Healthcare I won't even talk about. And another thing that hits the UK is inequality, between jobs and between territories, you'd be surprised at the precariousness that exists in places like Wales or the north of England. I don't know how the global situation will affect Germany, but nowadays it's a great place if you want stability and a comfortable life, despite all its problems like any other country and its massive bureaucracy
@@guillermogonzalezgarcia6704 Stability ♥ - one annotation: There are coutries like Swizerland or Luxembourg way richer by capita than Germany; nowbody sees the smaller guys. ; )
It's safe.
You are not comparing Germany to any other countries. If you feel like something is becoming worse in Germany, this does not matter at all, when it's going worse world- oder europe-wide.
If you are the fastest, and everybody is slowing down by 10%, you are still the fastest. (or richest, or whatever).
A big fact is just, Germany is well known, better known then Denmark or Sweden or so, although they have similiar conditions.
One point to add for expats:
Your life will be way easiert here when you also learn german, as many things are written ingerman, many people don't speak english and also at least trying to learn german will give you some extra points.
I still love watching your videos, always a pleasure to see. Maybe also because I like the britisch, I dunno, but the videos are a great way to see us from a different perspective. But I absolutely have to do it the other way around and at least visit GB.
Love your channel! I’ve recently become interested in moving to Germany too. Did you have to get a degree before moving there? I’ve been trying to look at the different visa options from UK and there seems to be very little information available. Especially with regards to skilled / unskilled workers and list of in demand jobs etc
The thing about making friends in Germany: you need to make the effort and put yourself out there, and you'll be surprised how quickly it happens :D Germans are reserved, so they won't come up to you but they will be super welcoming once you come up to them. Just organize an outing with 3 or 4 people, get talking, have some drinks and then do a follow up a week or two later. That's literally all it takes.
Germany is updating its burocracy and a lot of Anträge could be available online or even in a different language by next year in some cities.
Its because of a new Digitalisierungsgesetz.
Virtual HUG to you! ♥
@whatsapp➕❶❻❺⓿❼❻❶❹⓿❶❺ SRY I don't do social media - not even for you; still: you are (seems to be) a NICE *_* person ... and hugz only in real life. *muah*

You can upload the registration form in English as well ..... And you can switch to English on the HP of The German Govern Site also. Please try it once more.
Hey there! You know what, I am German and I am thinking about moving to Britain within the next couple of years. I love this place so much and I just would love to hear your opinion on this - any suggestions, experiences etc? 😀 Thank youuuu
I've just found this channel and appreciate you sharing this info. I have wanted to relocate to Germany for sometime now but haven't really considered it to be realistic. I am also a little worried if I'd be considered skilled enough. The job I am currently doing involves aerospace and CAD work but most of it has been work based learning. I am time served in engineering and manufacturing but not university degree level. Do you think it would be possible? Thanks
@Nicolas Just apply for jobs. Experience is key, so include the software you used and your projects in your CV to raise your chances.
how much do you recommend to save before moving?
I am British and my 1 year Work visa about to expire in August, how long will they give us for the extension
If you need any help on what subject ever, feel free to ask me. Bureaucracy here is always a pain in the arse! You look a bit tired - hope you are ok!!! Ich mag Dich. ♥
Can I ask. I suffer mental health issues and been signed of for good. My girlfriend is German and Iv been thinking of moving there to liv. I get a pension not that much tho. Is it possible to move to Germany. She also is thinking about moving here to the Isle of Man 🇮🇲
Third country.not that hard to grasp.and yes,I love your channel.
Hey mate, glad things are going well. Have you come across anyone who has moved to Germany on a self-employed visa? Think this is going to be the option I would need to go down.
The Netherlands is the better choice for being self employed - AFAIK.
What was your reason, your motivation to move to Germany? That would be interesting for me. I did it vice versa last year and I am really happy with that decision. I feel more independent here in the UK than in Germany and I love the british lifestyle.
My girlfriend is German and wanting to move here to the Isle of Man 🇮🇲 what will she have to do to make this happen. It’s iver me move to Germany or her move here. She’s German and hates living there. I’m manx and hate living on a island. Catch 22. Any help would be much appreciated thank you
@@Laters3 hey did you ever move to Germany ?. I recommend moving to Germany, much better way of life here and the pay for most jobs is great. Renting properties are much cheaper. Moved here a few months ago and don’t regret it.
@@clemrose9720 wow you took the jump and moved yourself my lady. Sadly no I didn’t move to German tho I would love to come and travel around Germany I. The next couple of months. Sadly me and my partner broke u a couple of weeks ago. Life hey how things can change just like that. But all is good and well. And one must move on in life.Definitely be in German say start of June end of may. What part did you move to if ok to ask you my lady. My daughter is going to Berlin 🇩🇪 in two weeks if your in Berlin she and her friend would/mite meet up if your in the Area. She just got back from poland 🇵🇱 she loved it there to.
I love Germany as a tourist, admittedly I've only been to Berlin, Bochum and Munich, but I think it's better in the UK for my career and lifestyle.
You better get used to this amount of paperwork and waiting periods xD
I do painting and decorating but have no qualifications I know people who live in Germany who's asking people if they'd take an English guy on for work is this possible?
Um, no qualification? Gonna be tough. If you're young enough, you could apply for an apprenticeship and get one. Depending on your experience, this could be shortend to 2 years. Nonetheless, that would be two really tough years for you. You wouldn't make enough money to live off.
Not sure about if immigration laws cover apprentices, though.
On the other hand, if you have a lot of experience, you could just apply for jobs. There is a shortage of workers in many areas.
I have about 5 years experience
@@liamsmith6133 Worth trying to directly apply for a job.
Apply in german, if possible. Else you might not even get an answer. Go for it!
Yeah that's the aim my Mrs lives there and there dads mate knows people who own painting companies so he's asking them but waiting on answer
Thanks for replying 😃
I don't have a degree, and that's one of the criteria it seems :(
Boy, what happened today? So many videos... I'll get sunburned ;)
WIFI problems 🤣🤣🤣
You are so cute!
If your last name is farage, stay home.
🤣 That frog face guy is needed for next PM to finish the country. 🤣
@@teotik8071 I fear,not needed!others will finish the job.
@@teotik8071 That "frog face" even applied for a german passport. The day after the referendum. But, what else would you expect from a hypocrite.
@@peter_meyer Wow, I did not know that.
Beside being obnoxious on several levels, this was his first good decision. 😂
Or if one of your parents or grandparents where lrish then you have the rights to lrish citizenship, its no problem once you have the lrish passport
Germany is the best country in Europe🇬🇧
You should definitely do an apprenticeship here then you are made for life
The question is not could you move to germany, but do we want those traitors??
Traitors? What do you mean?
@@peter_meyer traitor means "Verräter". Not sure why he said it...
@@xframix i know the meaning, i don't get why anyone trying to make ends meet should be a traitor.
@@peter_meyer In the Brexit debate, remainers were labelled 'traitors' by much of the British tabloid press. Worse than BILD, I guess.
@@featherstone5838 The british tabloids are pretty much the least i'd ever give an F on.
They are worse than `Bild', yes.
Germany is the best country in Europe🇬🇧
It's Switzerland.
No - we better don't answer this question. Such questions lead to war.
