Custom Off Road Chopper "Pulled Fork Sandwiches" (Baja Warrior Suspension Mods)

- Hey guys FatBuddyCat here and today we are kicking off a new project! This Warrior gives me a High Performance Off Road Chopper vibe with its low slung rearward seat position, shaved fenders, big wide pegs and awesome factory rake. The first time I assembled this mini bike was in the cold dead of winter so it's safe to say I skipped a few things.
Today we are concentrating on making improvements to the stock fork and handle bar riser mount. Minus the fork seal installation I try my best to show you the steps to adding more preload, dampening and rigidity that is better suited for more aggressive riding styles.
These are race proven modifications from the likes of Nicholas Jaromin of Deaf Duck Racing and widely accepted amongst the multitude of talented builders from the Baja communities. If your interested in taking your mini bike to the next level be sure to check out these awesome links.....
**All modifications can be adjusted to compensate for rider weight and personal preference!! Direct any questions towards the comment section. Obviously this is grassroots stuff and any techniques applied to one's own mini bike is done also at their own risk. Stay safe. Think twice. Ask questions. Always wear a helmet.

Got my Warrior on sale from pep boys in '08 for $250. Now it's running a gc190 Honda overhead cam motor, (from a broken pressure washer) and 30 series torque converter ($60).
Can cruise at 40 mph all day
The new ones are like $800 now. Totally crazy what things cost these days.....absolutely nuts.
Hey FBC what Handel bars are those they are sweet!
Great video. I have to do this also. My shocks do not rebound very good. Just wondering… you left the 9/16 socket in? Did they have spacers in there or are you using the socket to add preload?
That's exactly what they're for.
Fatbuddycat. I think it's pretty cool how you fixed the handle bar risers. Can wait to see what you have in store for this mini bike. Thanks for the videos keep them coming
Thanks! I try my best to repurpose things if I can. I'm glad I didn't just throw those little bushings away like I almost did.
What size are the seals and wiper?
I always thought the warriors forks looked too spindly! Just aestechics.
Yeah, they are super sketch by design too. I guess if you take the right steps they can be pushed pretty hard. We shall see.....it's a pretty light bike for its size!
@@fatbuddycat I’m almost ready to fire up the motor on my baja. I bought an electric start duromax that I pulled the governor out of and it hasn’t blowed up yet
@@mklein5179 I haven't seen a lot of hate on those Duromax engines. Some are definitely better than others!
Sure thought those fork tubes would've been longer.
I know right!! It's kinda scary but a few guys I took pointers from definition put these things through the ringer. The Trailmaster fork also bolts directly onto these.
What size hex key did you for the top cap?
Oh man....I'd have to check. I know it was smaller than the Trailmaster one. For that one I found a bolt that fit then used a pair of vice grips to twist it.
@@fatbuddycat thanks did the swap and they are 10x stiffer great for the trails get up the great videos
keep up lol
@@kboogz0740 awesome! I'm glad it helped someone. That's what it's all about.....that and cool mini bikes!
I’m really curious to see how these forks perform!
Lol like a pogo stick with a 15hp attitude problem I presume......🤔
Good video sir
Thanks! This is going to be light and fast
You from boston
NH but some family was from the area and I picked it up as a kid. It's wicked bad when I read out loud guy!
I'm watching it now actually!
im juicin up my motovox forks i did the spacer thinga majigger what do i use for oil i got royal purp and some dot 3 brake fluid
I gotta check on the brake fluid but I believe that's the one you can use. I wanna say I read that brake fluid is the fork oil of the caliper. It has characteristics very similar to hydraulic fluid.
Nope nor brake fluid too corrosive. Hold on......
I just use this.......Maxima 56901 15WT Standard Hydraulic Fork Oil - 1 Liter Bottle a.co/d/33nIlyw
Dot 5 is the only silicone base like fork oil. Glycol based brake fluid will damage the seals.
@@fatbuddycat yea a wise man once felt it and said hmmmm we shall use this as brake fluid an then some lady lookin dude was like nooo thats for the forks and that was that lmao
