Pinturicchio (Bernardino di Betto di Biago) - early Italian Renaissance painter known for his highly decorative frescoes. Stunning cycle of frescoes located in the Piccolomini library in Cathedral of Siena. There is a scene where two figures have been identified as Pinturicchio and the young Raphael who worked with him. A fresco with Madonna and the Saints by Pinturicchio decorates the apse of the Spoleto Cathedral .The Church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Spello is the location of an extraordinary Cappella Bella , decorated entirely with frescoes painted by Pinturicchio. The artist included in the Annunciation fresco his own portrait.
