This video is tailor made for me , haha. I love my 2.0 and this is exactly what im gonna do. Great idea on the test back strap. I really appreciate this one brother
Shoot, I'm going to sand down both sides. The main problem I have is it snagging my shirt when I'm concealed carrying. I live in Florida, so I can't layer too much because it gets a little hot here. Thanks for the demonstration, I'm confident now.
Man I LOVE seeing any and all new Cacticalman videos. I've got my own brown beast, right about 1k rounds through it and it was love at first shot. I'm a bit too tall and lanky to conceal carry it, plus my S&W 642 would be mad and jealous lol. But my brown beast stays at the ready right next to my bed nightly and I love it 🤘🏻
Was hesitant to do the same on my Hellcat but got the courage after watching this lol I used a fingernail file and it worked great. Very light sanding and it's done.🤘🏻
I was thinking of sanding it (lightly) and found your video. Nice to get confirmation before possibly violating my Smith. Much better now. I often carry with shirt tucked in and cover with an unbuttoned sweater. Now I don't fear for the side of my nice polo shirt being sandblasted.
I bought a Shield 9 2.0 and 3 extra 8 rd mags. Field stripped, cleaned all the cosmoline out, and lubed it. Shot 100 various rounds through it, it cycled all 4 types just fine. Cleaned it, put it in an IWB kydex appendix holster under a polo shirt band wore it home. Midwest, summertime. The grip texture kept snagging my shirt and rubbing my belly raw! I took 320 emery cloth tape to one of the magazine sleeves to see if I could smooth one a little and kept at it till it didn't irritate my belly skin when rubbed across it but still had enough texture to grip palm/finger skin when pressed. Duplicated that on the other three 8 rd mag sleeves. Lightly crazy glued the sleeves to the mag tubes in 2 spots, while making sure the base plates were free to remove for cleaning. Sanded the grips just like the mag sleeves. It's all good now. On a related note, the Shield Plus has a texture about halfway between the Shield 1 and 2, and it's just about right. I like rubber the best, and on a metal frame I'd just screw on rubber grips, but on a polymer frame with integral grips, you pretty much have to go with peel and stick to get rubber, and they'll start peeling eventually. Sanding to your chosen texture is the best solution in this particular case. It's not a collector item - it's just a tool. Don't be afraid to sand it.
Don't feel the grip on my skin but if you were a delicate cloth made of polyester, it will destroy it. I love this gun and definitely dont want to compromise
Looks good. I wonder if a light brushing with a cleaning brush would clean the gunk out. I bet the first time to clean it and wipe it all down it's going to look normal.
I just got a compact. Noticed it was rough on the skin. Found this video. Going to try it out this weekend. I was debating on bringing it back if i found this was a no no because its to be my everyday carry.
Hoping off camera to rub one out. *Awkward Rubbing Noises* in the background Lol Glad to have you back my brother! Now we need another 1,000 round test on the brown beast!
I just added a Shield Plus to my collection and the rough texture is my only complaint. I wore it IWB around the house for an hour and it shredded me. I am going to try this one out. 👍
I reholstered my 2.0 compact into my tulster holster and got my "tactical love handle" pinched in the holster with the gun. Terrible pain. I def need to do this too.
I'm new to the M&P family of fire arms but I would of thought since those are so easily removable that S&W would of offered replacements in various textures and styles. Do they not do that? Seems like a missed opportunity to me. But I agree the texture is extremely aggressive on this one.
2.0 Definitely have an aggressive grip texture. I was going to sand it smoother but went with rubberized Talon grips instead. I'm extremely satisfied with them. EDIT / UPDATE: As I mentioned, I really like Talon grips and they felt great. However, after a few weeks of rubbing against my tactical love handles, the Talon grips started loosening from the grip. I pulled them tight again and put a couple of drops of super glue right on the seam. That worked well for a few weeks and then earlier today I noticed a small section of the Talon grip material was somehow missing. I guess my tactical love handles finally defeated the Talon grips. So I went ahead and took the rest of the handle material off, cleaned the original grips and sanded them down. So far, it seems to have worked very well. The sanded grips haven't been bothering me at all. The good thing about sanding is that if it bothers me again, I can just sand them down some more.
After watching your video, I did some light sanding on my new 2.0 full size 45 Black. Was just way too aggressive for me! After the light sanding, it gave the area sand a little bit of a lighter or grayish look, instead of the deep black it was prior to sanding. I know you can use WD40 on G10 (actually that is what VZ recommends to use to touch up finish). What can I use to bring back the deep black finish to the sanded areas???? Thanks much!
While I'm here, does anyone have any opinions on drawing a SW MP9 2.0 from AIWB defensively being a tad slow? I just upgraded my carry to this exact model (5 inch barrel) and have a great tier 1 holster that conceals well. It's comfy enough, but I swear I could rip a compact pistol out faster. Does anyone think its harder to draw a full size gun with a light from concealment vs. a smaller pistol, or am I just used to a smaller pistol and being a dork?
Man this what I’m going to do on both sides. Not only does it irritate the crap out of my subtle skin (lol) but the other side gets stuck on my shirt. It was so bothersome i shelved my plus in favor of my standard shield.
Monster and S&W yay The finish on the slide of mine is all messed up from owb carry. Its a working blaster so I'm not that worried about looks. I like owb because it keeps the denim lint out of it.

Florida man myself, and 1000% agree on not being able to layer 👍
Another Florida man, been tearing up my shirts with my M&P compact.

The S&W in my opinion, is more ergonomic than the glock.
I have picked up bricks that are more ergonomic than Glocks but, they sure work😂👍🇺🇸
@@UncleDanBand64 They do, glocks are like the basic hooker that's been smashed by everybody.
@@BoogalooBoy lol😂

@@nathanmanley4203 That's just me, but it seems like a lot of people agree that the shield is better feelin' in the hand.

Sanding both sides , this one has destroyed my suit coats , 😟
You're back!
Looks good!
Thanks for the fix ! Was like a cheese grater on my side. 👍🏻
If you took a heat gun and gently introduced some head it should turn it back black.

The magazine release is the one that tears me up
After almost two years, my muffin has finally realized it ain't getting any better and now it just turns slightly red.
Had a little discomfort the first day or two carrying my 2.0 but since then I don’t notice it at all
I reholstered my 2.0 compact into my tulster holster and got my "tactical love handle" pinched in the holster with the gun. Terrible pain. I def need to do this too.
Worst part about the aggressive grip is it destroys my shirts. (also rough on the skin of course)
Thanks dude!

Wow! Gonna go try this on my Sig P365
I just wanna know best way to keep grip clean from hands and little specs it's constantly getting junk stuck all over the grip

You could try an automotive trim restorer (Meguiar's back to black for example). That may help
What holster fits that combo? I just picked up a 2.0 45 with a valkyrie pl3
I need to do this asap. For IWB the grip texture is like wearing 220 grit sandpaper. Way too aggressive.
Thank u bro
My black beast is the 4.6 10mm with a tlr1 hl and holosun 407a3x2. I do edc it a ton.
Missed brown beast glad she's doing well

I’m struggling with this as well.
Same. Tore up my shirts and caused to print when shirt got stuck on the texture. Been carrying my p365 but would rather be carrying my shield plus.
Is that thing still chafing your tactical muffin top😂👍🇺🇸
Not no more! Now me fat can go about its day without being harassed! 🤣
@@CACTICALMAIN lol I was hoping this was going to be an interpretive dance video😂
Dang it, missed opportunity:(
@@CACTICALMAIN what position do you carry? 3 o clock?
3 to 330
Wish I would have realized how easy it was to scratch my frame before attempting this, scrapped off paint. Any solutions?
Its a tool. You gave it character
My Mako R7 is now PERFECT!!
Didnt get mine for a carry gun so no sandy for the mandy here. Buy a gen 1 if you want baby soft. Nodelivesmatter.
I prefer tactical shed when you have a good tool you want to build a shed over it
I would sand all my 2.0s down
I was gonna cut a piece of bicycle tire tubing and slide it over it. And see how that works
what olight and holster you use for this gun?
Pl2 Valkyrie, and I believe its a ohio holster company holster, but cant remember and its not marked :(
What the hell did you say at 7:31 ? Hahaha

I was bout to spend $1k on an entire new pistol. Thanks for saving me that $$. Great video.
Why is this suddenly becoming sexual? 🤣🤣🤣
😉 lol!
If you had man hands instead of munchkin hands you would have no problem gripping the gun. Just saying....
Is it just me the trigger SUCKS!
I agree, get the apex trigger (flat face trigger)
My M&P Shield Plus tears my shirts up 😢 I’ve thinking about sanding mine down some to tame the scratchiness.
My hands are more aggressive then these grips 🤣
Maybe Stop using so much 🧴.
I'm playing calm down 😂
