Two people killed in downtown Macon mass shooting

- The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after an overnight shooting in downtown Macon left two people dead and two others injured. Cpl. Emmett Bivins says it happened just before 1 a.m. Saturday after a fight on Cherry Street between MLK Boulevard and Third Street.
Macon Georgia is hurting . We need to pray for our city especially our young people. Coroner Jones needs our prayers. He does have a really tough position. It is not his fault that the crime is going on in Macon. He does not deserve to be disrespected.
God Bless Leon Jones. That man has the toughest job in Macon.

Mass shootings target places, this situation targeted a person or persons. This doesn’t fall under mass shooting just because more than one person is wounded who came together. Mass shooting is when someone blindly or randomly targets random people at a particular place or multiple places

I'm afraid to go out because of the open carry laws. Nobody has time to react , and nobody knows who the threat is if everyone has a gun.

Legal carriers getting involved in random fights using their firearms is so rare it is next to nonexistent.
These people are invariably gang bangers carrying illegally gained firearms, usually bought out of a trunk in some back alley.
If you go and read the story from local news agencies that is exactly what this was.
