    Most characters require m+ to be viable, I'm f2p by choice and I went all in on reiner days before talene, had they announced it weeks before I wouldn't have.
    The game just creates a punishment loop and youtube streamers talk about hitting pity most of the time when whaling, seems like a very unsatisfying experience, they need to make it more resource and f2p friendly otherwise numbers will dwindle and the whales will leave too if the f2p crowd goes.

      I've maybe hit pity early a handful of times and got lucky and once with stargazing, the dopamine just DOES NOT HIT.

    God i hate gamers. There's finally a mobile gatcha that doesn't force you to main game it to feel like a high level player and people complain you can't just spend more time or money to wipe out people who have a life or other interests from the game. Finally a mobile gatcha that respects your time and helps you not feel like you have to play it every single day or get left behind and people are complaining that there's not enough "incentive" to keep playing.

      Yes you can play as a casual, but if you do, the game is severely lengthened in artificial time in my opinion, which can be boring to players if there's little to no payout when you commit only casually. With 100% commitment to clearing content it rewards you at the moment but spreads it out over time, and high payout rewards only start to pour in once you invest heavily because you are required to rank in later game to keep up. Just because people realize that and dip sooner doesn't mean it's gamer's fault.

      @@ShawnSetGO Ok fair, i came to the game expecting to have periods of no content in between updates so I instinctively didn't just rush the game. Live service games in general try to make you main game it so i can see how a public used to that can feel like it's not appealing.

    Things are too expensive for too little payoff, even as a dolphin i cant justify paying for anything except the progress passes and daily login (epic summons). Even the "1200x value" etc stuff isnt worth the price

    My top 5 points why AFK Journey have less profit/decline playerbase, based on observation:
    1.) No interesting/good/hype-appealing time-limited characters.
    Many players _(include me)_ are hoarding huge amout of free resources, just for spend on character to worth it.
    2.) Interesting new permanent characters are locked behind paywall or "waitwall" in long of many months _(to reach point, when they became usefull, otherwise they are useless)_ .
    Thats mean, you have many resources *unable* to spend on the new character, and not worth to spend on time-limited one. You are "rich and poor" in the same time.
    3.) Game dont have interesting time-limited events to be excited or return to play.
    4.) Broken meta and stage difficulty.
    You need specific characters, in high quality _(meaning multiple copies of those characters)_ to progress in the game. If you dont have luck or money, you are struggeling leads to playing another game, when you have fun _(or luck)_ .
    5.) Bad rewards and their concept.
    In game doesnt exists any metric between spended time and reward.
    A top of that, because you have better rewards based on your position on leaderboard it means, strong players became stronger and weak players cant catch them, because their rewards are 💩.

      I have a few issues:
      first point: Skill issue. People were complaining that vala, florabelle and ulmus weren't worth pulling, and it's very clear that they are worth investing in. Each of them has clear strengths and use cases. Prefering to pull on normal banner rather than rate up is completely valid, but saving up 200+ pulls because you're waiting for that one character that will be so good it will break the game is stupid and y'all only do it cus you've been trained by shit games to expect it. If a character is a must pull it will be a must pull only on a few modes, and more modes will be added over time with more radical designs to force variety.
      second point: What the hell are you talking about? Every gatcha in the planet forces you to spend stuff on the character to make it good. The difference here is AFK journey makes it REALLY EASY and FAST to get access to a single copy of a character and it's also very easy to upgrade it to legendary. We should be commemorating how easy it is to choose which characters we want to build instead of having to wait until we pull a single "worth" character to dump all our resources. More choice and agency is good, and being able to use a weak version of every character basically out of the gate is also good.
      third point: OH NO THE GAME RESPECTS MY TIME INSTEAD OF RELYING ON FEAR OF MISSING OUT TO KEEP ME PLAYING OH NO WHAT WILL I DOOOO????
      fourth point: you don't need luck. you have SO MANY opportunities of directing which characters you pull and a lot of straight up choosing to get what you want. Progressing on the game is slow, but so is every other game. Beating lower difficulties with whatever you want is also very easy and possible. Right now the meta only matters and is really strict around the 200 leaderboard mark. Also meta characters are different for every mode, so whatever it is the character you can just focus on the other three quarters of the game. It's not a big deal.
      fifth point: if you play about 40 minutes of afk journey every day you get basically everything to progress at a reasonable rate. This should be CELEBRATED. Just go do other shit, and the game will be waiting for you. And for the reward structure: Yeah, no shit it rewards investment so players who take it really seriously or spend money get to be the top dogs and get better rewards. That's the same in every other gatcha game, it's just that here you straight up can't just spend money or 2 days straight to knock out a top player who's been playing the game routinely for months. Again, the game only asks you to play it about 40 minutes a day and that includes the guy getting first place on leaderboards. It doesn't make the game less fun, competing for top 1% or top 200 with your account can be just as enjoyable as competing for top spot. The actual game and strategy is still very fun, and if not being able to be the best of the best ruins it for you you just didn't like the game in the first place.

      1.) Valla is good, but based on my experience from another gachas, it doesnt make any sense to pull in v1.0 dps because of powercreep.
      Valla now, is worth in PvP but in any other mode, is ez replacable by any 1.0 free character.
      2.) WTH you cant get?! Legendary characters in the game are 💩.
      If you want to take them into the endgame, you need them on Mythic+ for their signature weapon - thats means, you need for your first copy another 5, fcking 5(!) copies, to make them atlest working. Anything below is considering as useless and weak, replacable by worse but high ranked character.
      3.) Game dont respect your time. Look on reward for honor duel. You spend so much hours for what? 2 pulls on the standard banner per week? 🤣
      The joke is game have FOMO + no rewarding your spended time, if you cant see it, I ask myself if trying to explain my points, have any sense tbh. 😅
      4.) Directing of char. pulls? Are you kidding me? If you looking for one s-tier hero, and you need mark 8, thats means you are fighting with 40/60 pity timer for pulling s-tier and THEN 12,5% chance to get character, what you need.
      Also meta worth for any player, try to reach top 200 - why? Because bellow 200 rewards are "just laguhting your account progress".
      You need always 4 up to 5 meta upgraded characters for specific mode, otherwise you are food for whales.
      5.) Maybe we are playing different gacha games, but if I need to mention atleast two, I m playing Honkai star rail and Snowbreak: Containment zone - the approach to players is great - you need to pull ONLY one copy of character and you are rdy to go _(into the engame and challanges)_ . These two game respect your time, because "daily routine" you have done within 5 minutes and they have fun and rewarding events. They dont give a 💩 about any leaderboards and F2P player get same amount of rewards as a whale.

      ​@@_Libosido 1: based on your experience from other gatcha games: My exact point. Meanwhile you sabotage your early game and gameplay variety by not getting stuff that "isn't optimal"
      2: My point isn't that you can just use legendary+ chars and not care about upgrading them, it's that the time to get a character into mythic+ is very similar to how long it takes to get an S tier character in other games.
      3: Oh look this gamemode only gives me this many pulls for that many matches? And it's only once a week? It almost looks like if I don't like the gamemode I can just... go do something else? It's not anti-FOMO, but it's WAY better than the usual event reward stuff. (Also sidenote: The clan reputation events are actual shit. They are in the game and are the definition of what i'm criticizing but eh. nuance)
      4: Almost looks like it's not a rate-up banner huh? Every gatcha I know launched with a single "get whatever banner" and a single rate-up banner. Not to mention buying chars in the shop.
      5: Maybe you have a point here because I only played honkai star rail when it first came out (didn't like the char mechanics and some other stuff so i just dropped it), and I don't know about snowbreak. But if I remember anything from how time limited wacky event based rewards from genshin, your ass is NOT doing dailies in 5 minutes, because you're doing your always on, usual dailies in 5 minutes and then god knows how much time in the little gamemodes that are going away in 2 weeks.
      Also please reflect on how much "account progress" actually stops you from doing. The boost from getting into top 200 in stuff is not something that bothers me because I'm not trying to get leaderboard ranks on everything and I still progress at a reasonable rate with minimal effort. If you want a game that needs you to put more effort in and rewards you for spending more time, ok sure this isn't what you're looking for, but hey you can always just open the app in between chores and get a little further on one of the modes while you're doing something else.
      Also i will look into that snowbreak thing. Maybe people just suggest me the wrong games and i'm the one used to games being bad who knows

      2.) Not true, atleast in Snowbreak/Honkai star rail. I dont play worse games.
      3.) I dont get it. I'm complaining about no-rewarding mode, you are talking about fun?! WTH?
      4.) To tired to reply that, let readers judge it...
      5.) In Hsr they changed dailies to make them faster completed - in very short, you spend half your daily stamina, click on button to claim daily choosen upgrading material and you are done. Then you can play another game modes and events or alf+f4 game, because events are mostly of time 4 weeks long.
