Meningococcal Septicaemia Early Symptoms

An infectious diseases specialist explains the earliest signs of meningococcemia (meningococcal sepsis). Meningococcus can kill a perfectly healthy child or an adult within 24 hours, and time is of the essence! If you recognize meningococcal septicemia early and administer treatment, the prognosis is excellent, but every delay can lead to a catastrophe. The characteristic rash associated with meningococcal infection appears relatively late. That is why, in this video, you will also learn how to recognize signs of meningococcal septicemia that appear before the rash.
