Noble work and a way to give back to your community. Being an Auxiliary Police Officer is about the highest volunteer position in any community. If you go on patrol with a Police Officer you are in the car flying through traffic and you are at high risk. If your regular Officer goes through the door you're going too and without a pistol. That takes guts. People should be proud of their fellow citizens stepping up to be Auxiliary (which means extra or supplemental) Officers giving freely their own time and usually on nights and weekends and special events where crowds will be gathered and to do their best to keep people safe.
