I saw this movie along with my college friends in Madurai (New Cinema) in the first week of its release. The song (which was the opening scene of the movie) started and after the vridhham Shivaji comes to the full screen. Then follows "Mannavan Vandanadi.." and Sivaji walks majestically to his seat. When the shot ended there was a little commotion in the front row and after the song was over, a few of the audience went out and returned a few minutes later. They proudly declared that they bought a second entrance ticket for each of them since they felt they got the full worth of the first tickets in the scene where Shivaji walks to his throne!! (one of them was my lecturer in Madura College). Such was the impact of Shivaji and the picturisation. My joy on watching today's performance of this women team was no less - and I replicated the gesture of those few guys today in my own small way!. Subhashree madam has done a great service to the Tamil film music by bringing out gems like this and showcasing to the present generation!
