      @jakebrandt5882 Před 3 lety +2

      @Omer Seth I dont think it's a tactic at all. TW is one of the most brilliant minds to ever exist in combat sports, and he fully understands that to lose respect for an opponent like Khabib is an immediate check mark in the loss column. Look at McGregor. No respect for Khabib, and it led to him having a bolstered self-image in the fight, which largely contributed to the licks he got in, granted. But Khabib is too calculated for that approach to be fruitful in the outcome of the fight. Respecting your opponent has more to do about the mental self-fight that TW mentioned than it does with your actual opponent. Its very possible for Gaethje to stagger Khabib, but unless he straight up bodies the guy...he's got to respect Kahbib's game and understand that closing the gap, even after rocking the guy, is very fucking dangerous for anyone. Khabib wants you to close the gap. He wants you in that clinch range. So you've got to continuously respect that, or you definitely fall victim to it.
      That said...I really believe that both of these athletes and their corners have the highest level of respect for each other....and THAT is why this is going to be a battle for the ages. These two teams fully embody what it means to be a warrior, and I cannot fucking wait for Saturday!

Trevor has done a great job at helping Justin evolve quite a bit over his last few fights, especially against Ferguson. Very composed and controlled the entire fight. Michael Chandler is prob the second best wrestler in the division behind Khabib now that he’s here. We saw the way Chandler tossed Benson Henderson around a former ufc champ. So yeah the only possible good fight with Khabib may be Chandler. Unless Chandler was on juice in Bellator, hes never popped but Bellator testing was less than UFCs I heard. Khabib should get tossed a bone now and get his super fight at 165 catch weight with GSP and then if Chandler beats Tony Ferguson or another top fighter that same night then do Chandler vs Khabib.
