What an incredible woman. Thank you, Dodgers, Gavin, and Clay's family for sharing your experiences around this important topic.
Dear Gavin Lux and the Labatore Family, thank you for sharing this. Teen depression and drug use is very real. Will share this with our circle of Freshmen Football parents, many of whom have multi-sport athletes that deal with unique pressures. Thank you Clay for touching our lives.
this was a sad episode didn't expect nothing like this, RIP Clay
My respects to the family for openly sharing this it WILL save a life.
As a mom to a 15 month old baby boy, the I love you at the end just has me balling. His mom is so beautiful, such an inspiration.
I already loved Gavin. This was very difficult to watch, but has made me see him in a different light. My dad had taken his own life and my family struggles with depression. This is definitely a different type of hurt and no one is ever prepared for anything like this. The strength Clay’s family, especially his mom shows is incredible. The strength and love a mother has is completely unmatched. Prayers to the family, thank you for sharing 🤍
As a parents I can’t imagine the pain of loosing a child like that. Watching those quick videos of when Clay was a little boy was tough, it just reminded me of my own kids.
very touching and sad episode 😢 gavin seems like such a sweet guy, always checking in and being there for felicia. i know that means so much to her. so sorry for your loss, gavin and clay's family. may he rest in peace 💙
to find out that Gavin went through this at a young age is very heartbreaking cause losing someone in your life is already painful but for it to be one of your closest friends in the world, it's unthinkable and there's no real words that can be said to you that will help you right away cause it hurts that much... the only true thing that can help is just a slow healing process over a period of time
Great episode, it’s awesome to shed light on these situations. There has to be more awareness for individuals going through the same situation Clay did. Great job Gavin, great job Dodgers!
Damn...I didn't expect to tear up
RIP Clay
Its cool that mr lux doesnt forget his roots, or so it seems. Hes a star now
Playin for the dodgers
This is so sad to watch I wish Clays family and friends a big blessing RIP Clay 🙏😢
I lost it towards the end when they were at the cemetery and then showed clips of Clay as a boy…a happy carefree little boy! No one ever thinks when they have a child that their life will turn towards darkness as they get older. So sad🙁. My heart goes out to this family and all families who have lost a loved one to suicide.
Powerful episode. Sorry for your loss. Very tragic. Glad to see something good came out of this.
The message…love those you love like it is their last day! We never know how much time we have.
Thanks for sharing this. I remember when I heard Clay had died my friends and I thought it was a joke. He used to tease me in seventh grade math because he knew I had a crush on him. I still have the card from his funeral. Very hard to go through as someone who was never close to him, so I can’t imagine how his friends felt and continue to feel through their grief.
this one hit home for me. Gavin is my favorite dodger and wasn't expecting this at all. I am clay. I shared his struggle and even though its been 2 years since I attempted this really hit a core. thank you Gavin. thank you to clays family. RIP clay. I know
Thank God you're still here! Never give up.
@@janettevalenzuela9686 thank you. every day is a struggle but im here. thank you
I played against Gavin lux in highschool in Kenosha and let me tell you I knew that kid was going to be a star just off his at bats and his way he handled the ball. Sad story to hear but he’s great athlete
💙💙💙Thank you Dodgers, Gavin & the Labatore family for sharing this their story!!! I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Gavin & his family and watching him grow as a player. I’ve personally seen the tattoo and only knew the background story, I’m grateful to now know the full story. Good luck Felicia on your current endeavor. I hope someday your Peer Program becomes a nationwide one, it’s something that is much needed.
Gavin, if you see this good luck in the coming weeks. Tell your mom HI!!! Oh never mind, I’ll send her a note myself.
So sad and touching. Lux is such a beautiful soul and individual. Lux has been a favorite from the start and more so now. As one who works in mental health… Thank you to the family for sharing the story of Clay. 🙏🏽
Thank you so much for sharing this story Gavin. It's painful but yet necessary for people to see how teens can quickly get into trouble. I'm a die hard Dodger fan and appreciate the stories of our players so much. I'm sorry for your loss.
I want people to know that my nephew got into trouble during his teenage years. He started smoking marijuana.
It's very important for people to know that pot can have a devastating effect on certain brains. It's not for everyone and it can affect kids differently and some brains are not meant to react well for children in their developmental years.
My nephew was one of these kids. He later developed schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder.
Mental illness in conjunction with drugs whether it be pot or steroids is real.
Suicide is always a threat and always creeping around in the background.
Luckily he didn't take his life and finally surrendered to the fact that his mental illness is real and he must take his medications.
How now has a job and is going to school. He is on medical and as a result is able to see his doctors on a weekly basis.
This disease is so difficult and the diagnoses was heartbreaking because like Clay my nephew was a talented athlete....baseball player (pitcher) and we had dreams for him too. (and a pitcher named Valenzuela)
I'll take his disease over the unthinkable any day.
I couldn't take losing him. I can't imagine how painful this loss is for this family.
Thank you for stepping up to the plate and having the courage to share the struggles. I love what his mother said at the end how she'd rather share his story vs. hiding it and living in shame.
And Go Dodgers always!!!!!!!
Made me tear up, suicide effects so many people you always wonder if there was something you could have done, or wish you would have known so you could stop them. I lost my sister to suicide and miss her everyday. Lux is a class act, you can tell he has a big heart ❤️ thanks for sharing some of your story.
my condolences for their loss, RIP Clay, thoughts and prayers go out to Gavin Lux & the Labatore family.
not one like, really?
I got you
Thank you for sharing his story. I know this must have been so difficult but hopefully this helps someone who is going through what Clay went through. God bless this family and foundation.
Wow! Great tribute to Clay and such a great inspiration. I will definitely be supporting this cause.
God bless them all.
RIP 44, would’ve loved to see you in the big leagues, on the boxing ring or wherever life would’ve taken you. We’ll see you again 😢
There are incredible people in this video. God bless you all.
My deepest condolences and prayers to Clay's family. May he rest in peace and that the Our Lord gives the family love and strength. His mother is truly amazing for helping others who are struggling with mental health. 😢😞💚 Gavin, stay strong. ♥️🙏
Rip Clay hope you are having a great time in heaven. I hope his family is ok R.I.P Clay
They are. It's incredible and inspiring to watch...I'm still in awe of my amazing and beautiful friend. Her faith is what allows their family to go on and LIVE.
Ouch 🩹 Rest in Peace Clay .
God bless Clay's mom and family and Gavin. Rest in Christ's arms Clay.
Indeed, this is a very sad episode, however if it helps one person then it’s all worth it. May the lord bless you all
🙏🏼💙
A great story.
I've been critical of lux the player not lux the person. Kids shouldn't have to go through this stuff. Condolences to all involved and all who have gone through this. Lux does seem that he wants to be in Milwaukee, hope he.gets there, for his own mental peace.
RIP Clay 🍻🍻
Damn RIP
Rip Clay
RIP clay
Rip
As someone who lost a great friend to suicide at about the same age, this episode hit incredibly hard…as much as I enjoy this show, I won’t be watching this one again.
RIP Clay

💙🙏RIP CLAY💙
💙LIVE! BREATHE! BLUE!💙
Damn roids as a freshman?! Your body is barely naturally developing still. On twitter during preseason I tweeted to Gavi and said he will have a good, better year and he has. This piece opened my eyes that I have alot in common than I thought with Gavin. Crazy how life is sometimes. I can never get extremely frustrated with Gavin when he struggles on the diamond. But instead be an even stronger supporter of his.
i agree. i think fans need to be more patient with young players and not be so hard on them when they make mistakes. gavin seems like such a good dude, and he’s one of my fav players, so i’m always rooting for him :)
@@ayydubs987 Indeed. Its because they make millions so expected to be great almost superhuman like. But they just human beings man just like us. We need more humanity now more than ever. Win it for clay Gavin. But I bet I know what Clay would say he'd say go win it for Gavin Lux. I know because I've been there I was doing this for my fallen. Until I said no, Nope. Its ok to now do things for you. Doesn't mean your forgetting them. Just means it's time to live life for you.
RIP and peace Clay 🙏🙏🙏
Clays my brother and I was with him the day it happened I dropped him off. A lot of this story is fabricated so much it’s crazy.
Dude turn the camera off. You see a mom losing it and you continue to film? Not cool.
righhhhttt, that was super uncomfortable
It's about the raw emotion and pain one leaves behind. I wasnt uncomfortable I felt her grief in that moment. I've also cried like that and that sound only comes from grief
She approved it. The emotion is real - suicide devastates families, and it never ends...
Wow RIP! Thank you for sharing this story.
Great choice using Waxahatchee.
