Vin's voice was home. Hearing Vin's voice meant I was safe, everything was ok for the next ~3 hours. Vin was there to tell us a story and talk about Dodger baseball with me. There's a reason everyone in my house calls him Papa Vin. We miss you Vin, always and forever. We'll always need you.
A fine, fine comment Joey ! The Yanks had the upper hand with world championships, but we had VIN SCULLY !!!
R.I.P Vin! You will truly be missed by many!
Vin scully was the best man for the job. Let the moment speak for itself. Rip to a true legend
Some people dont understand why we feel so sad over someone that we have never met. It’s hard to explain that it feels like he is our family. We love you Vin!
In a way we did know him. But I know people don’t get it.
My eyes were watery the whole time watching this. As a baseball player in Los Angeles and as a Dodger fan you don’t realize how much Vin’s voice was a part of your youth until you’re older and wiser. We’ll see you again, sir.
What a pleasure it was to be conteperery of Vince Scilly. THERE we never be one like him again I'm afraid. Thank you Vin.
I really fell in love with the Dodgers when my family didn’t have cable tv and I had to listen to the games on the radio hearing Vin. His comforting voice and stories along with painting the game gave me solace, will truly never see anyone like him again.
There's no crying in baseball, yet I got teary eyed as soon as this video started. We will miss you Vin.
Anyone that said there isn't crying in baseball wasn't looking close enough.
@@skraprmthat was from the movie league of their own.
people don't understand what a sweet nice man Mr Scully is!!!! he never had a negative thing to say about anyone!!!! and you all know how hard that is! RIP sir.
1st in the west and in my heart
As a child of the 60's/70's, I grew up with a transistor radio to my ear, "watching" Vin call every pitch. Yes, watching. His words brought the game to life in my mind, and it was magic. I value that more than any 75" 4K broadcast of a game on TV today. I had a small AM radio halfway tucked under my pillow, listening to Vin call the last out of Bill Singer's no-hitter, or maybe Steve Garvey hitting one out. Wouldn't trade that part of my childhood for gold. RIP, Vin, and thank you.
Growing up in the 90s as a kid vin voice never failed to put me to sleep than grew up watching my Dodgers between Vin and Chick Hearn those voice and now to 2023 I will cherish them 💯
Anyone know WHY
AM 570 KLAC has stopped playing the the recording of Vinnie's
"It's TIME For DODGER BASEBALL!" at 7 p.m. just prior to first pitch??? That tradition is one that should and must continue in perpetuity.
In 2020 we won for Tommy, in 2022 we will win for Vin!
You will always be remembered. Thank you Mr. Vin Scully for your years of enthusiasm in sports broadcasting. You made it exciting and we loved hearing you throughout the times of our lives. Lord God bless you Vin. Thank you for the blessings you gave us.
This Is sad and heart warming vin was a great guy Rip vin
I remember hearing Vin since my father took me to my first Dodger game when I was a little boy and listen to him for the next several listening or watching Dodger games. I'm 69yrs now and as for me I really miss those immortal words "It's time for Dodger baseball." I miss you Vinny❤
Scully was to baseball announcers what Walter Cronkite was to evening news.
This year is all about him. This year we go all the way. Boys in Blue 2022 we WIN4VIN!
Talk about the best announcer in MLB history. IT'S TIME FOR DODGER BASEBALL!!!!!! RIP VIN!!!!!
We will miss you! I’m glad I bought the 2020 Wold Series Champion Dodgers with Vin as the voice 🙏🏼
This years for Vin!
I was at work when I saw the message, instantly got heartbroken 💔 RIP Vin 💙💙
Never be another like him. Had the pleasure of getting to know this legend. Always a smile, always a gentleman, always took time to ask how you were doing. Truly blessed to get to know this wonderful human being. Made me feel part of history to just sit with him. God bless, Vince Scully.
R.I.P. to a GREAT human being.
A fitting tribute to the greatest ever to broadcast baseball….there will never be another like him..
man im gunna miss him
Rest easy Vin. I remember as a kid being so excited to watch Dodger Baseball only to hear Vin talk
Thanks Vin. Thanks for making me the baseball fan I am today. The world didn't deserve you.
Rick Monday said it best..RIP Mr. SCULLY
A very touching tribute. And yeah, I cried the whole time. What man amongst us didn't? See you in Blue Heaven, Vin. ❤️
Joe Davis will be the Scully of our next generation 🙏🏼 his voice is almost as smooth as Vins
Nah. That title goes to Charley Steiner.
Vin Scully --> Joe Davis. It truly is a passing of the torch.
i will never forget thank you vin scully and tommy lasorda aswell both RIP never forgotten forever honored forever and still bleeding blue aswell thank you from cheyenne thompson 22yrs old uk.
💔 RIP Vin a true legend
Sure why not I didn’t need my eyes to be dry today 😭
I will be honest. I have not in my 43 years cried so much for someone’s passing. Vin and Dodger baseball go hand in hand. Having arrived here as an 8 year old from Guatemala, I had never heard or knew about baseball. Little by little I got familiar with the game. I would listen to dodger pregame talk 2 hours before the game, the game itself then dodger talk after the game. I fell in love with baseball thanks to Vin. Along the way, I credit him with helping me learn English and expand my vocabulary. His stories were timeless and for the duration of the game, we would be transported back in history. He was a wonderful story teller. His soothing voice kept me glued to the radio since 1991. To this day, I still rather listen to a game than watch it. Rip my friend Vin
Jaime Jarrin also credits Vin for teaching him the game of baseball and english. It is crazy that Jaime didn't travel with the team and would have to use Vin's broadcast to find out what had happened in a studio. Now, Jaime is a legend in his own right and a Hall of Famer as well. We Dodgers fans have been spoiled. RIP Vin.
I hope the Dodgers can create a Vin Scully Museum in the confines of the ballpark!!
Wow great job by the dodgers. Getting chills watching. Vin you'll be missed!!!!
We have great broadcaster but scully was the one i grew up with dodger baseball when he retired it was wierd but thanx vince dodger nation 💙 and miss you
I’m not crying, you are 💔😭
R.I.P. vin Scully
This hurts almost more than I can bear...
I remember being 10 years old and asking my mom to throw rolled paper napkins so I canbat while the dodgers were batting to give them good luck while hearing Vin Scully on theTV. He will forever be part of my fondest memories, thank you and RIP Vin.
forever bleeding blue la dodger fan forever and ever thank you from cheyenne thompson 22yrs old uk.
Thank you Vin. Thank you Dodgers.
He was a truly "dandy" like he use to say.
RIP VINNY.
I’ll miss you! You’re the best vin.
Vin for me was The Dodgers because as a young boy it was his voice I heard on my small transistor radio hidden under my pillow at night when I was supposed to be asleep. His voice and all the cheering fans in the background. Love you Vin and enjoy your well deserved time off in your eternity in Heaven...you will always be missed...
Such a nice tribute 🙏🏻💙😢
We’ll miss you Vin 😪 Thank you got the countless hours of stories and play by play that made me a baseball fan in general, and a Dodger fan in particular! You are missed dearly! Enjoy calling the games in Blue Heaven!
It's still an honor to serve by daywind my favourite song thanks thank you from cheyenne thompson 22yrs old uk.
This man was man was my dads childhood and my childhood
RIP Vin you will be truly missed
Bro I literally got chills from this, we will always remember you Vin the dodgers and dodgers fans will World Series for you, for your legacy too
We’ll miss you Vin!
💙
Honestly I was afraid to watch this because I took the death of Vin so hard. He was the voice of my childhood. Now that I've had a couple of days to prepare myself, I'm gonna do this but I know tears are coming
Man these tears 😭
There was no end to his ability to entertain. There was no end to his love of baseball. There was no end to his talent. And this is no end to Vin. As he lives in our memories, our hearts and the countless videos, there will be no end to the love of Vincent Edward Scully. I won't speak for you, but I know in MY heart I needed you far more than you needed me. Thank you for generously sharing your life with us.
Long live Vin!!
I moved to LA in 2000 and I absolutely credit Vin Scully for turning me into a Dodgers fan. Back when you could watch all the games on KCAL or FOX and then on cable before you couldn’t lol his attention to detail, his random facts and musings, and of course that voice. I tuned in to every game just to listen to Vin as much as I did to watch a ball game. I could have sat for hours listening to Vin read names out of a phone book. Thanks Mr. Scully
Vin Scully Was one of the best broadcasters in history Thank you for everything thank you for your calls Thank you for play by play, All of us dodger fans are gonna miss you And also baseball fans are gonna miss you. We're all gonna love you miss you Thank you for everything and God-bless you
I’ll always remember my uncles playing dominoes at the park with the radio on and hearing the greatest to ever do it. I’ll never forget that voice, story telling, and learning so much about baseball. RIP Vin we’ll miss you. This year it’s for Vin
Back when the local TV channel carried Dodger games, I would watch the game on the TV but I'd turn down the volume in the 4th to 6th innings and turn on the radio because that's when he swaps places to the radio with the other guy in the booth, usually Ross Porter at the time. No offense to Ross and Rick Monday, but Vin was uniquely amazing.
He was like a wonderful friend you could share a great sport that is baseball...you have gotten so used to hearing his warm voice that it was jarring to hear silence when watching the game...thank you, sir. You have given us countless warm summer nights of joy...
Growing up watching the dodgers in Texas meant during the baseball season i got to listen to Vin going to sleep and then wake up and watch the recap of the game in the morning not knowing exactly what happened but getting to still hear vin call the end of the game. RIP
RIP Vin. You will forever be remembered. 💙🕊
I had to stop, I got tears and goosebumps. My daughter summoned it up when she said " I feel like I lost a family member".
When I was around 12 I fell out of love with baseball. A few years later while scrolling youtube I saw a highlight of Dodger baseball and figured I would give it a watch. That was when I heard Vin for the first time. He helped me fall back in love with baseball and the Dodgers. Vin was an incredible person and announcer. Vin was Dodger baseball and will be missed forever
As we grow older from childhood and enter into our teenage years and then into adult life there are people, places, things, and events that go onto pages and these pages complete “Our Book Of Life”. When something like the loss of a TRULY great man that was a part of all aspects of our lives as mentioned above, a page is lost and the book is no longer complete. I hope everyone here treasures their favorite moment with Mr Scully and let that give you peace and comfort.
It is good that Mr. Scully left baseball on his own terms rather than holding on until fate took him out.
He was and will forever remain a man worth looking up to.
R.I.P VIN SCULLY!! THE MAN THE METH THE LEGEND! FLY HIGH WITH YOUR LOVE SANDRA😔🎙CALL IT FROM BLUE HEAVEN SCULLY WERE LISTENING 😇
Love you Vin. RIP
Cried for most of this episode. 😢 Love you Vin. #winforvin
We all have a team that we love. I grew up an Angels fan myself. But one thing is for certain, no matter what team you cheer for, we all love VIN. Rest In peace, Mr. Scully.
First time watching the Dodgers as a child...and I instantly became enamored by Vin's voice. I understood nothing, as I was still learning English at the time, but my god, his soothing announcing had me hooked on the game instantly, and I was honestly disappointed when he'd take the mid-innings off and hand them over to Don Drysdale. Even as a child, I could sense that, while Don was great, Vin was on another level. It'll never be the same without Vin in the booth.
For vin .
Not enough can be said about Vin 💙 I can't say how much it meant to hear the news from Joe Davis. Vin is simply irreplaceable, but if there was ever anyone more fit to carry on Vin's spirit and legacy... I cannot think of anyone more perfect. Vin lives on in Joe 😭 Thank you so much, Joe and keep sharing the stories you have about Vin.
I feel like it is because Joe is aware of and isn't jealous of Vin's legacy and what that means if he is going to broadcast Dodgers baseball. I feel like Joe's attitude is that it is forever Vin's chair, he is just keeping it warm for a while. As such he doesn't want to let down Vin. They both share that rarest trait in media people, humility.
@@brianeleighton Yes 🙌 exactly, Brian!
✨🌴💙Dodger Baseball ⚾🌴✨
All my life all I knew is that I was a Dodgers fan and Vin Scully's voice was and will always be attached to the boys in blue. You'll forever be missed but I truly hope you and your wife are resting in peace. Or who knows maybe you're calling the game from heaven. No matter how much time passes by, the loss of Vin Scully will always hurt
Every time I hear vins voice now I have some tears fall, you will be forever missed and I’ll never forget where I was when you passed away… Rest In Peace Vin, we miss you so much😔😔💔💔💔🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 that last broadcast will hit even harder than it did, his last wishes to us shows how much he cared for us and Vin, we now pray for your family and everyone affected by your passing. A true legend and one hell of a guy, a man all young men should aspire to be like💙💙💙🤍🤍🤍
Someone needs to get this pile of onions away from me, they're making me tear up bad. G.O.A.T
Incredibly well done Dodgers!
#1 one in the west babyy!!!💙🤍
WIN 4 VIN
So hard to see RIP Legend 💙
Love you Vin... thank you
They should really consider making a sign that says “The house that Vin built”
Crazy how Vin’s last game was announcing Dodgers Vs. Giants and he passed Dodgers Vs. Giants
R.I.P Vin We Love You!
RIP VIN!!!
R.I.P Vin 💙
Who else took a look at the length of the video and sat down saying, "alright then, I'm ready to cry for 24 mins" ??
Vince Scully The Voice of God RIP in Blue Heaven.
Not enough tissues for this episode. Didn’t want it to end. #ITFDB
It’s hard to believe only 21k people have watched this video.
I think a lot of us avoided it until we were ready for all the emotions
So was Vin a Giants or Dodgers fan? I’m not too sure if he converted to a Dodger fan later on.
The games are hard to watch without Vin calling them. I'll never get used to Joe Davis.
Rip vin 😔😔
🎙 🐐
😞💙Win4Vin 🕊
