the "wa hoo" in French is LITERALLY EXACTLY THE SAME as the original mario voice

it's been nearly 2 years since I'm not forced to study it anymore and i barely remember anything and don't have the time and will to learn it by myself, so yeah, I'll just watch the movie in spanish or maybe english

might have been genuine and fun, but it sure isn't an interpretation of mario considering how rushed it is and how much they ignore drawing out the vowels

I wonder if somebody in the pirate world would re-voice all of Mario and replace with a Charles Martinet flavor and then re-upload the whole edited movie to the internet, C&D by Nintendon't? Who cares! If it's done all in one go, C&D is the least of our concern
It seems to me like the French and Brazilian dubbing studios were like "Screw it, we're not going to follow Chris Pratt's example. We're gonna to respect Charles Martinet's voice work and keep that energy in there!" And it paid off!

I don't think this is his fault. Chris Pratt has the energy, I think this is a directing issue. I think they tried to distinguish his voice from the games and made him lean too far away. Until we see the whole movie in context we can't be certain, but I know he has the energy, and this seems like they didn't direct him properly.
@Super junior bros having a good voice acting director is crucial to getting a good result. You can put the best actor in a booth and give them bad direction and it'll turn out like poop. I think that the direction they encouraged him to go in is going to be more responsible for these issues than he himself is. He has energy, he could have totally given a more energetic "YAHOO" if they had directed him to do so. I'm just saying it's really easy to sit here and judge his performance, but there is a lot more that goes on behind the scenes then most realize.

Chris Pratt Mario is not as horrible as Ugly Sonic, but it's only OK. Charles Martinet Mario will earn like 5x more money. Chris Pratt might one day become forgettable as long as Charles Martinet lives on

Woah I was surprised when Pierre Tessier is now becoming the French voice of Mario as I met him during a convention in the North of France 🇫🇷 back in 2021 and he sounds just like Mario. Definitely way better and authentic than Chris Pratt despite he’s Ryan Reynolds French voice! You can feel how much he’s really into the character’s shoes 👞 and the fun acting. 😮 Can’t wait to see the French version in theaters and I hope to meet Pierre next time if he’ll be a guest again at the next convention. 😊

That's because french is similar to italian but sound deeper, the voice actor just had to tune down he's voice, sharpen it if you see what i mean.

Honestly the French version with captions on would feel like those games where the characters speak gibberish and there is dialogue to show what the character is meant to say. Kinda like the Mario and Luigi franchise with Mario and Luigi just speaking gibberish… except they never actually speak nor are there captions to show why they are saying.

You know that the wahooo that the French guy said is a voice recording from the games? Because it sounds exactly the same
Yeah I dont see it anymore, if you watch the entire trailer the french voice has it's own normal sounding moments just as in English. The fact that Pratt does have some high pitched mario voice moments means it's alot better than we were originally expecting from the first trailer.... and as long as the movie is good, and everything seems like it will be amazing, we will get over Pratt mario voice.
