  • Eloise is here! This was a pain to edit as youtube didn't like half of the clips I put in - this was originally 25 minutes long but I had to majorly cut it down.
    Hopefully I can make a part two at some point with the clips that didn't make it in! Thank you all for your support with these videos - I had no idea they were going to become so popular!

      During that time it was considered absolutely inappropriate to discuss such things with young women, especially young women of their social standing. The men were encouraged to learn about it, turning to prostitutes and other lower class women to learn how to be a man, but young women would be shamed forever if they did anything improper before marriage. They were simply expected to marry as well as they could and on their wedding night, lay back and let their new husband do with them what they wanted

      @blue7609 Před rokem +26

      I understand that you might be trying to say that her personality would be more normal and accepted if she was in the 21st century but it wasn't as easily accepted by people in the 19th century, which is true. But she's not "wrong" for her time period at all. There were girls like Eloise during the 19th century. There are girls from the 19th century and even long before that who thought the same as Eloise and who acted similarly to her. How do you think the Suffragette's were created?? Because of people who disagreed with the way society was/is towards women and wanted to do something to change it. And they were formed in year 1903.
      There have always been people throughout history who thought differently and even during much older time periods there were a significant amount of people who didn't agree with the way society was in many ways. Eloise is a great example of a girl in the 1800s who doesn't conform to some of the typical gender stereotypes but she's stuck in an unfair and extremely discriminatory environment towards woman. So no, her personality is not "wrong" for that time period because there were legitimately people who felt that way even in the 19th century and before that. And those people weren't wrong to feel differently and to not conform. What's wrong is the extreme sexism and many other types of discrimination in society that was normalised.

    • @maxonite
      @maxonite Před 9 dny

    Eloise really reminds me of Amelia Sheperd in grey's anatomy, both physically (eloise reallyressemble amelia but younger) and mentally... Am I the only one ?

    Eloise is my favourite character of all, because of females like her, who broke the social codes and frame, we present day females enjoy the freedom of having an independent life even to a certain extent. She's such an inspiring feminist!!! ❤🙂

    8:09 =This reminds me of Colin & Eloise's discussion when the wager happened... Except for this time, it's Benedict & Eloise... When the wager happened, Eloise & Penelope were in their mid-20s and Colin in his 30s... They aged them down when Penelope has just begun (like she's just 3 years in at most her Whistling down the Ton)...

    At 5:26 when Colin was singing a song and Penelope was talking to Eloise, I wonder if she really paid attention to Colin's singing or not. I mean if my crush or love was singing I would forget everything and would be like super focused on him, I can't miss that for anyone.
