  • The MowerGate scandal is a major scandal in the United States involving 35 year old Zach Johnson the Millennial Farmer, farming CZcams sensation. The scandal stemmed from a bad starter on the mower and the pressure of racing mother nature fall of 2021. Ultimately mother nature and the internet trolls won. All jokes aside it was a busy day on the farm hauling grain, dead batteries and putting the John Deere Mower away. #FarmerScandal

    Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
    With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

      @Millennial Farmer get a digital tire pressure gauge. Master mechanic here, I have had one for 10 years and it still works. I recommend the type you can also use as a tire inflator, you can use it as just a gauge without air hooked up, but also, if you have your air hose hooked at the same time everytime....you can add air as needed

    I would like you to know how much I appreciate the role you play in providing the content and on the challenges in farming…….but it might not mean much coming from just one person and i think there would be more people out there that also share the same opinion . There is a brotherhood between farmers……not only those farmers in America 🇺🇸, but all over the world 🌎 . You all have to endure the same struggles…..i mean the high’s and low’s when it comes to the cost of producing a given crop…..so as to recoup the money 💰 out lade and make a profit that would go into either maintenance on the machinery or upgrades to make them more efficient and bring down the running cost which would lead to a greater profit margin…..so keep the content coming Zack and don’t listen to those moronic back seat farmers who seem to know everything about farming and god bless both your self and family.

      It's called CABLE RESISTANCE / which alters the way battery banks charge - as a voltage loss often occurs in the connection cables between the batteries, PLUS - if there is any "fault" such as a weak terminal connection - you will immediately find it when attempting to "charge" multiple parallel batteries, if using the furthest apart terminals .. (any faulty / weak connection will result in the battery charger showing buggah all current flow).
      just jumping ONE battery and hoping all others get charged as well - well - no wonder the batteries fail overnight - maybe you ONLY have one connected correctly, the others have faulty terminals - meaning they drain the full battery overnight - result 4k all starting power.

    Hey Zach, mechanic here. Your Peter coolant sensor on the bottom of the burp tank is likely on the fritz, which is likely why your truck keeps telling you to stop the engine. Sometimes you can clean them with electric parts cleaner. Otherwise they are fairly cheap, but to replace you'll want to drain the coolant first... unless you can move quick to switch those sensors. 13 gallons is usual with that engine if I recall correctly.
    As far as 99% of your stuff dying all the time, might be due to the private radios not being cut off from power supply when the truck is off. A simple toggle switch hooked into the supply line at the back of the radio should do the trick.
    Also one other recommendation, weld some wingnuts to the top of the bolts on the battery box. Helps tremendously if you dont have an impact.

Guy is walking along the beach after a storm and the beach is littered with starfish who will die if they don't get back into the water. So he's walking and throwing starfish back in the ocean. A kid questions him "what's the point? you can't save them all" the guy said "yes, but it matters to the ones I do".... A tip on recaps . If you watch the tires on the front axle of your trailers when spinning around in a tight turn . The front axle tires drag sideway across the ground . If those tires are retreads , dragging sideways will peal the tread .For this reason only put retreads on the rear axle . On the tractor don't put retreads on the drive axle . I noticed your trailer has retreads on the front and new on the rear . I never had luck doing that .

    • @patrickburgmeier7902
      @patrickburgmeier7902 Před 2 lety +1

      Sorry but it's the rear axles that get drug sideways. The trailer or tractor for that matter, the front axle of the tandem axle, is the pivot point. On a tandem axle, the rear axle tires always wear out faster then the front axle tires by a ratio of at least 2 to 1.

    • @kenreese2791
      @kenreese2791 Před 2 lety

      @@patrickburgmeier7902 So if you stand by the trailer when it is making a sharp turn , the axle dragging the tires , don't put recaps there for obvious reason And drive wheels peal recaps in hot weather . If one axle wears tires faster that the other. It could be the axles are not lined up with the king pin .It is unbelievable how good a trailer rides with straight axles. Thanks for the reply .

    • @patrickburgmeier7902
      @patrickburgmeier7902 Před 2 lety +1

      @@kenreese2791 i know what you are saying about a super tight turn when the trailer and tractor are in a jackknifed position, yes the 2 axles are dragging. The front axle is dragging into the turn and the back axle is dragging away from the turn. And if you are on hot pavement, yes it is possible to peel retreads off. I wasn't referring to that instance tho. I waa referring to a gradual turn as found in normal highway driving. In these instances the front axle is the pivot axle and the back axle takes the brunt of the skidding. I don't run retreads because until they came out with dual tire equalization valves, the dual tires would heat up and pressurize at different rates. The inside tire being closer to the brake would be at a higher pressure than the outer one and cause separation of the retread and a tire blow out. Retreads are not worth the headache. Thank you for your reply.

    Just an FYI, some of those mowers have a PIP (recall) out for the starters failing. If I remember right it was on the Kawasaki engines. Also, there’s a PIP out for the ignition switches. Could be worth looking into to see if your mower is covered

    For a non-farmer city boy like me that little bit of insight into the financials of farming I found kind of fascinating. I know it’s not as appealing from a video perspective but I think other non-farmers might be interested in hearing a little more about that aspect of farming life that has to be at least as important to the farmer as the agricultural aspect. Great videos as usual and I’m sure the lawnmower actually appreciated that blanket of snow insulating it and keeping it warm. 😉

    Zach when you were communicating to Jim about moving the truck while loading the corn, have you thought about installing a Simply-Safe camera to view the yard and grain boom. Then you would save yourself the time and exposure up on the grain bin. You could be in a warm truck. Just a passing thought I had.

    If you need an outside battery charger, you could make one with a pressure washer engine, and a 24v alternator. Some used on JD are not too expensive. The nice thing is that when it runs out of gas, it stops, and you can't overcharge the batteries. This could be a good thing to use if you have trouble with starting equipment in the field.

    Being a mechanic all my life I will tell you that when you are all concerned about power washing your equipment and trucks you really need to blast off the batteries. The dirt on batteries draws voltage out of them. Connect the positive on your multimeter to the battery and drag the negative across the top of battery and you will see for your self. No charge for the lesson this time Zach.
