idk how you ever thought maidens mist was gonna work... you have to cast it before siitting down, so that would mean you instantly stand up after sitting down if it even works...
i have a gaming mouse, so for dodging i use an extra mouse button thats normally used to slow down the sensitivity as long as the butten is held down : )

I’m surprised nobody in chat told you about the cathedral of dragon communion. It has a banished knight that will attack you while you’re resting 100% of the time if you wait long enough.
I don't think he starts moving though until you get up and get close enough to him, based on my experiences farming him

people have pretty much done this run before, bushy did a run where he's not even allowed to dodge any attacks, so no jumping or strafeing

Cant believe aggy hasnt seen that block animation at 6:09. I think it existed since dark souls 1 and its one of my favourite animations in these games, shows the power of the attacks really good.

@@amirmehr151 Taurus Demon and I think also Asylum Demon have attacks that if you block will send you flying backwards like that.

Played every Dark Souls Game and never seen it either. But well, I never use a shield either. Besides Grass Crest Shield. Oooh, my sweet sweet Grass Cress Shield. Always used on the off hand tho, or to parry the Silver and Black Knights.

Separated buttons would honestly be pure hell but I absolutely love the idea of it. Building off that, Aggy and his fellow Elden Ring gamers could even do something like a team version of it where 4 people control different buttons and have to act in sync

IronPineapple did a somewhat similar run ; it was "always overloaded + no torrent (except for *one* spot in Mountaintops to jump a gap) + avoid Bloodhound's Step".
The main differences between the two runs are jumping (impossible while overloaded, possible here) and usage of the "b" button in menuing (possible while overloaded, impossible here).
In IronPineapple's video it became a TankBuild Simulatorᵀᴹ ; I wonder if it's going to be the same for this one...
Edit : after seing the video, nnnnnope, not at all, aggy just chose the "minimal set up, just go with your skill" route lmaoo
Plus I think he was able to get around the mountaintops torrent usage with either the butt slam or Loretta’s ash of war thing

More precisely, he used torrent at the spot, thought of a strategy to get up bumps like these at a later moment, and came back to the spot where he was stuck to check whether or not that strategy would have worked there, and it did ; so he used Torrent, but later found a strategy that would have allowed him to circumvent using Torrent, had he found out about it earlier.
(I didn't include it my comment because it wasn't super important and I didn't want the comment to be too long)
pineapple did this run legit while aggy did it gimmicky (no b button can't even get out of menus xd) and with bloodhound step for more than half the game which almost entirely removes the challenge.

@@SirFatso it _was_ something like this video. The main point of both was "no rolling". There are a number of differences between the two, but the core of both challenges is the same.
It's crazy how removing ONE simple thing, intrinsic to the core of the game, completely rewires your brain.
Half the time in this video I instinctively thought "That's relatively easy to dodge... why isn't he- oh right the challenge". I got annoyed at myself more then anything.
For me it was whenever he was on the ground. I kept wondering why he'd take so long to get up, then quickly remember the challenge prevented it
I only learned you could run in sekiro while I was in the middle of fighting the giant ape 🥺 I was holding the b button just a bit longer than normal for a dodge in frustration and John Wolf started bookin. The freedom I felt afterwards was exhilarating. I can’t believe you did this lol awesome work!
I had the same thing happen to me, except Elden Ring was my first FS game. It wasn't until after Radahn that I found out you can hold spacebar to sprint....
It would be a little more obvious if they allowed sprinting in the sheathed-weapon areas. I spent a good 10 minutes of combat not realizing sprint was an option because of that.

In case anyone read the comment about Buckler Parry vs Carian Retaliation and Golden Parry, Carian Retaliation only costs FP when it parries a spell, otherwise it's a longer parry window than Buckler Parry and can be put on a Rickety Shield which weighes 1.0 Miyazaki units to the Buckler's 1.5, for minmaxing equip load (plus its actual stated purpose of parrying spells for glintblades)
Carian retaliation has the same frames as buckler and he would have to beat lorreta to get it which might not be worth it
I'm sure you can beat this game without dodging but can you beat the furry allegations though?

God I love the shield-backflip, the Taurus Demons in ds1 are the only enemies I ever really saw them on.
I'm pretty sure the dragon church with the rot dragon has a patrolling banished knight that passes the grace there

If you are looking for a new level up grace I discovered the underground roadside grace has an omen attack you if you set up nightmaidens mist on it and then rest. Gives you like 5-10 sec to menu

300 hours and 6 playthroughs later and just know I found out that Radagon chains his grab move when he gets parried. I love this game

I've played so much Sekiro that whenever I see an enemy stab in Elden Ring my neurons activate and I want to mikiri counter it, even when just watching a video
the grace in the game that is unsafe is the first grace in the shaded castle in altus, one of the putrid guys slowly walks up to you. lost about a million runes to that when i had to use the bathroom once
they changed it
@@ShupperDupper still happens on my game but it is very inconsistent and seems you have to have made him mad by walking into the castle from the outside recently otherwise he just sits still
B on mouse and keyboard is split between space and the q button by default, plus you can right click in menus and click the back option. Crazy control scheme
There is a legit aggro grace btw... in that castle with the infamous teleporting dual wielding knights.
There's a patrol right through that church, or at least there was at launch... haven't gone there in over a year.
Keyboard/Mouse was impossible to use for the older games, but for ER it's actually pretty playable. My Controller recently broke so I had to try it out and while it takes some adjustment it's very playable.
I think Shabriri's Woe wouldve been good for the crab grace

I wonder if Shabriri's Woe would've fixed the aggro issue with the Shaded Castle and the Crabs.
In my first playthrough, I went in completely blind, and I was so much of a Souls noob that I didn't even know that you could run with the B/Circle button! So my first 15 hours or so in Limgrave/Weeping Peninsula were at walking pace! Made getting Torrent feel like such a huge upgrade. Honestly, I kind of missed how methodical walking made exploration feel.

I think the banished knight at the dragon communion chapel in caelid patrols the chapel and will aggro you while sitting at the grace.
As soon as he said he needed a grace like that i instantly thought Laskyar, its happened to me while talking to Melina there and soft locks the game haha
your experience with Margit w/out rolling was basically exactly like mine, but I was able to roll. So now you know what it's like to be part of the bottom 25% of ER players :)

Everytime Aggy falls of a ledge i laugh my ass off, he just can't seem to stay on solid ground.
Do a challenge where you have to do what every single message tells you to do. Using items, jumping off cliffs, making decisions, etc.
for the level up menu issue, if the others ever get patched, the wandering mausoleum can knock you out of grace with its magic missiles in snow field i believe, if you time it right

Excited for the much anticipated sequel, elden ring but only pressing B!
The B button on keyboard is very hard to say, due to F being the run, role and the backjump button and Q to go back from menu + graces and everything. I think the ESC also works similar to Q. So if it were suppose to be a similar challenge, F, Q and ESC had to be removed.
Not sure if this is possible, but would be nice to have a challenge where all the buttons are swapped. Every button from left side goes to right side and vice versa. Also, left joystick controls camera, left joystick moves.
That would be possible with simple rebinding, the joystick thing though.. Possible, but probably annoying to do idk.

I understand that the run is done, but if you hit Q on keyboard that brings you out and also at the Radahn grace in Wailing Dunes, if you attack Blaidd and he becomes hostile, although you will not get much time, he will attack you when you rest.(also by resting, he respawns if you kill him)

Nice run, you should try sl1 (or rl1 if you wanna do er I guess) no roll/block/parry. It's very fun and requires learning strafes instead of blocking or quickstep

If you sit at the Inner Aeonia site of grace (next to Commander O'Neil) then a cleanrot knight will eventually show up and hit you, easy way to get knocked out of a grace for leveling. For anyone that wants to try and do this again, like some sort of masochist
