Did you know, Crystal Darts have an extra effect! They cause all golems in the game to go berserk!
Including the watchdogs and the cat ones in the catacombs to the guardian golems. Real good for grinding as a few mines just have 60-70 cracked crystals in em.

Lmfao, never seen someone get excited about receiving mushrooms in this game.
The only time when someone wouldn't say "Why is it always mushroom?" lol
It depends on what you're low on. I needed mushrooms when I met Boc, and I never say no to Arteria Leaves or Lumps of Meat.
mushroom, O mushroom
I hate losing materials. I always feel a need to get a growing stockpile. Getting mushrooms always gave me a relief in that way. I felt I could craft pots without losing out (even though I already had like ten thousand mushrooms.)

Technically, a Furlcalling Finger Remedy is a crafted item so doing a "crafted items only" run could be quite easy

@@fernandomartinez4486 Uff, it was a joke mate
@@Naurfae na I gotta side with Fernando on this one there was no humor or correctness in your comment
@@qdsw you have every right to think that way and just ignore unfunny comments.
But I like to respond to silly pedantry in kind, so now I will argue that Alexander literally is a craftable item, even if my original comment was sth along the lines of "haha craftable items are associated with jars, alexander is funny jar man".
The two technical qualifications for this run are that sth must be a) an item and b) crafted (by the player). Now, Alexander is sentient, but also definitely an item. So point a) isn't really the issue here. We can learn in Jarburg that jars are probably created by people, so they are crafted by someone. Now we meet Alexander as a fully formed, powerful warrior jar, so he is not created by us. But it's important to remember that cracked pots and ritual pots are also not created by us, they are just found and then filled with ingredients to create an item. My argument is that Alexander becomes a player crafted item as soon as we provide him with ingredients that turn him into a different item. Since Alexander is sentient it would of course be incredibly rude to just do this without his consent, so the crafting process needs to be more of a collaboration. By fighting Radahn we get our crafting ingredients (dead warriors), that we combine with Alexander (by doing his quest). (edit: this is how condition b) is fullfilled, ergo Alexander qualifies for "use" (=summoning) in this run)
(Note: this is a joke, there are no stakes to this, please don't take this super seriously, I just think it's fun to have silly thoughts about a fictional world)

How’s the experience past Morgott?
I used crafting quite a bit for arrows, boluses and resins and I did mess around with pots a bit. I think it’s a good inclusion that the game definitely needed, even if most people don’t use it that much. I enjoy collecting materials and crafting quite a bit in this game, it was a very satisfying system. Simple and effective.
I wanted to use crafting in my first playhtrough, but I only ended up using it for boluses. I also missed the Recipe for the Preserving ones until I reached Lake of Rot and just looked at the wiki....
As someone who religiously used perfumes (there is one that gives the same effect as the bubble shield, they are indeed incredibly useful
I also use it quite a bit for fire pots (helped me a couple of times with annoying monsters like land octopi) and status arrows and darts. There's so many materials lying around that I'm not afraid I'll run out
I never used it, like ever
Part of crafting's problem is the larger problem of not being able to apply buffs to weapons that do any non-phys damage. They should really lift that restriction
Pots are 100% underrated in actual play, they're so useful. A cheap to obtain, fairly fast, no fp cost projectile that does a good chunk of damage and has scaling.

But but but my RoB?!
TBH I really like Elden Ring's crafting system- In other souls titles I would shy away from using the consumable because I never wanted to spend souls on them and didint want to use the limited stockpile I had. Now though I can actually use thowing daggers and man, being able to draw aggro sometimes is really nice. making the elemental greases a crafteable was such a good decision I love it.
What I dont love is that the most usefull consumable are crafted using items that only exist in a limited way in the world, which means I'll never use them despite how usefull they are. Anything chest containing exalted flesh might as well be empty, along with all the nascent butterflies and arteria leaves and whatnot.

Using the oil + fire pot on Draconic Sentinel and being surprised it didn’t do much damage is great cause he literally breathes fire, not sure what was expected there
Seeing this makes me wonder how many cracked pots are just laying in my inventory.
A lot of them are out of the way and not super worth besides some pots
BTW, blue dancer charm doesn't help your consumables for the most part since it only boosts physical damage...
The fact that I’m so invested in hour long videos says a lot about your personality
I always do a consumable only challenge build run in NG+ because I have so much stuff saved up at the end.
Crafting helps a tons with allowing you to keep focused on exploration. It effectively greatly increases your carrying limit for things like boluses since you can just make more on the fly so when you're exploring an area like the Lake of Rot you don't have to worry about zapping back to a particular merchant everytime you run out.

In a non challenge run playthrough, making a build centered around this sounds super fun. I did an alchemy build in DS2 and it was really fun. Elden ring has so many unused items that everyone forgets are super unique and fun to use since it's not spamable and infinite like magic. There's so many niche and cool items that can be a blast to throw, eat, and scatter around and experiment with. It's criminal there isn't a better way to get this stuff. I'm a person who is totally patient enough to make a build made entirely for this and use it in PvP. I'm not a meta player, and i have nothing against people who like strong and consistent set ups, but it just sounds boring to have a guaranteed win, i want to surprise people and myself with my builds, i want to have a fun and different experience every time i play. I have made so many builds in the previous games it's insane. I haven't gotten to play elden ring, but i know enough to know what builds i want to make.

I killed the Crucible knight on Storm Hill using bone throwing knives and poisoned bone throwing knives. I also use throwing knives to get at those little gargoyles you find in dungeons especially when their hanging on the walls.
I used crafting a ton as a mage to supplement my shortcomings. Like warming stones to heal allies and crystal darts for quick cheap damage to empty the last few points of my FP before I drink. Crafting was super fun! However I also missed quite a few books that were obvious that I wish I had, like the uplifting aromatic I didn't know existed until now!
@Ander P omfg that's why the giant sentinel robots would go bananas around me. I feel bad now that got my friends killed lmao
Uplifting aromatic was amazing for my first run, comboing it with mimic tear was awesome. I crafted tons of volcano pots, crystal darts, fire resins, rainbow stones, turtle necks, and finger remedies... also made a fair amount of fowl foots, boluses, warming stones, raisins and exalted flesh. I just wish farming arteria leaves the normal way was less of a grind. Because of that I simply save-scum the leaves with a buddy so I don't have to farm all day.

Been waiting for someone to do a vid like this, I should have known it would be Aggy. I'll be watching this tomorrow. Props to ya, ahead of time.
I finished Elden ring today after 78 hours and then accidentally skipped the final cutscene. Actually ruined my day.
Looks like ya gotta play through again 🤷
*Sarcastic "damn"*
@@andrewbledsoe131 already started my dagger only run
@@seagullstudios4339 ahhh shit! I'm respec-ing into a strength build but that dagger only build sounds sick. I might follow in those footsteps

19:50 dude got 15 feet spears stuck on his back and you killed him with KFC leftovers, respect.
I discovered the power of craftables during radhan's fight, struggled against him until during on attempt I equiped and used all my throwables on him, went unexpectedly well
"A crafting system that I'm sure no-one ever actually used."
*me sweating in the corner with my horded resources for anti-poison and throwing pots:* "Haha yeah totally."
This has to be the coolest Playthrough i have ever seen
I actually liked the crafting quite a bit, it was fun to match damage types with enemy weaknesses for a nice ranged option as a primary non magic melee character

Immediately almost killed.
