      @@mortgagefinancing5558 Dude you should realize that many silat practitioner has been proven themselves in self defense situations in robbery. Some of them actually killed the robber. However I've never seen MMA practitioners kill a robber though.

    I missed what Suffian Maul meant about the forms. Does he mean that when doing a form exercise that the practitioner is tensing the muscles all around to include the neck and arms as a way of conditioning?

      sort of, but not entirely... you have to do it for years for it to work like it does for him and what you said is just a part of it.

      @@Jazzman-bj9fq no worries, best bet is to locate a Silat master as close to you as you can, or catch a maul training camp, like most things its better in person and as I am no master at martial arts, I know enough to say, seek a true master like Maul and train hard for at least 10 years, everything else will fall into place

      No one can ever train to take a hit from sharp knives or sticks too but thats beside the point. A shield can't protect you 100% but its better to have one than none at all. Likewise, its better to have a conditioned body and legs rather than not. At least with strong legs you can run lol.
      In any case, not everyone trains. Majority of people don't train, even the ones that, many of them only do it casually at McDojos.
