What about plastic cup type?.. is there any indication says that its properly sealed?.. i changed the fuel pump recently and now i have bad gas smell inside the cabinet and fuel leakage during filling the tank at its full level could be noticed from right side of the car tank!!..

I had the same issue and found out the o-ring was lose and misplaced causing the cap to be tighten up too early. I just took some time and patience and fixed it, no more smell or leakage. I still have evap code on.

I'm also curious what code this was getting. Did this repair solve the issue?
I'm getting a P0455 (Large EVAP leak) on my mk4 Jetta. I think it first appeared soon after I replaced my fuel pump, and I'm wondering if I didn't get everything buttoned back up properly. I replaced the obvious stuff like gas cap and N80.

Did you get to fix this issue? I'm getting that code as well.
