You pay for something that claims to be uncensored, then it ends up getting censored after you buy it. That's the issue, it's full price but half of the product is missing.

The fact that the skin suit is still there means they were forced to change those outfits.
To me it actually seems like to total opposite and that they had an old design in for the outfit that was changed. If they were forced why weren't they forced on the much more relieving outfits?
It would give it away that they censored, Sony wanted it to look like shift up made those creative decisions
For example we know 7/ plus ng+ variants that's 14 outfits were censored. And the physical disc had some censored outfits already like black pearl & ocean maid or whatever they show what it looks like when they get unlock but u get the censor version instead. Cybernetic bondage isn't supposed to have that piece of fabric covering her stomach , it's bare in the trailer , when the day one patch came it added more fabric to cover the breast indicating it was censored twice like moutan peony(chunlee dress)
In tutorial it bare legs , version I get looks like shift was was goin to make it high thigh socks or stocking but Sony disaproved and made em turn it into tights looks stupid imo cause u can see toe two black lines that show it was stocking or whatever. Hints why Sony made them add ng+ after launch so they can sneak in more censorship , that's why on there page they just talking about what is added n not taken

Dude. They have "censored" outfits in Nikke MULTIPLE times. Heck there were some outfits shown pre launch of Nikke that was less skimpier in the final release. They have "censored" outfits then turned around added skimper stuff in Nikke the next day unwarranted.

FOR ANYONE ON DISC: You cann avoid the censorship by turning off the internet on your ps5.
Additional; you can go to SETTINGS, SAVED DATA/GAME APPS and AUTOMATIC UPDATES to turn off game updates. So it doesn't install. Then just leave the game with the update paused in the background. But the second you close the game completely (or power off) itll force the update or the game wont run.
If you're upset as I, email sony and shift up. Be respectful they're just people at the end of the day, but let them know how you feel. If one side can cry and get their way, so can we. At least we pay for things.

What exactly could Sony have done to baldurs gate? Larian is an independent studio. Sony says "censor" all larian has to do is say "nah" then Sony loses out on game of the year being on their console lol.

Why do people keep bringing up baldurs gate? Larian is independent, sony literally cannot touch them or dictate anything with their game. It's not the same as stellar blade where the studio is hooked up to Sony for life support. If Sony had an actual say so I'm sure larian would have had to censor but thank God, they don't.

I love the point you're making and I've been thinking the same thing. They say 'what's the big deal? It's only a little piece of cloth." And the only rational thing to say back is if it isn't a big deal, then why did you make all that noise until they changed it? It makes me sick, because it homogenizes all art. Every piece of art doesn't have to be for every person. Art will cease being art once that happens.

This is really disappointing because some people were going to support it because it was unafraid of having an attractive female character, and while this doesn’t change that it does oppose the whole anti woke/de feminisation of gaming argument people were making for this game, I like to look at good looking women, just like the game director said he does, let us have revealing outfits if we want, or customise them by layer at least

New game plus was a patch I think so it sucks if I want it uncensored, they should undo it to how it was on artistic and advertising principle
I think the blood not sticking to Eve might have been a design choice to keep her visually pleasing because of the outfits. I know in games like Bloodborne it makes it more realistic, but many people prefer to look nice and not covered in blood lol
There should be an option to turn it on or off, cause i personally, would rather see the all the blood

That’s too much work. I mean tons of game companies struggle to make single changes in the game without the game breaking on them. I’m not a game dev (yet) but from what I understand and also from playing a crazy amount of games, especially online cuz of how sensitive it is, but even I understand to make certain changes in a game, especially if it’s done cuz right now the hypocrites want stellar blade to be censored, a finished game, but to do that would undo so much work just to appease the hypocrites. Even if you started that feature from day one, that’s a ton of work to toggle a censored version and an uncensored version. And I swear if you say moderate can do it, modern don’t have to do all that massive work to make the game. Modders use what’s available and make changes but it breaks and they keep doing it over and over, using up a lot of time until it’s working. And even then they give you warnings about the mod possibly breaking the game. Making those kinda of changes can break the game. Key words here.

@@TheLuconic LOL, I've got experience in Unity3D, Unreal Engine and Blender. It's really not that hard to swap a characters rig, mesh and textures for the one that's needed. As shown in version 1.1, they already had it working perfectly. Instead of saving over the already created option they easily could've made them seperate. But reality is Sony probably never gave them the choice as they're the platform holder.

Buy the physical version and turn off auto-updates on your Playstation. From what I am hearing the physical version is uncensored. Just don't let it patch.

Hear me out quick solution, in the game menu have a choice to either play sensored or uncensored version of the game that way everybody's happy
Art should be uncompromising.
People can disagree about what is objectifying or empowering, it’s subjective: people will feel certain ways because of their life experiences and whatnot. This is fine. What is not fine is people who want to control other’s visions and act as if they have moral authority to justify their censorship. Censorship is harmful because it’s anti free speech and expression. They can say it’s just a little thing, no big deal, but that is just hand waving to dismiss their problematic views and actions.
Also, the HARD R controversy was effin stupid. Some people had a knee jerk reaction to their false pattern recognition and thought there was a problem that was clearly not there. That’s entirely their issue and the game shouldn’t have been changed to accommodate this non issue. It should have been left in as a message to people to tell them how irrational they were being.
If you get the physical disc you don't have to do the update to my understanding and so it would be the original creators vision. But this should never happen because what happens if they start switching out other things that are more important that you don't believe because they want to be woke
I think it's more of the principle. They guaranteed and promised their fans something, and then changed it after they already got the money they wanted they knew it got the attention it had because of that. And then they changed it after they got what they wanted. If they had no intentions of doing that. They wouldn't have changed it immediately after release.

I picked up the game a few hours ago between stops at work, but i haven't made it home yet. Hopefully the day one patch is not MANDATORY -- if nothing else just for the chance to check out the game both before and after FOR MYSELF. Anybody happen to know?
I tried but gamestop lost the shipment so I have to run to another one definitely turn of automatic updates if you want the uncensored version until your ready for the new game +
No. You're fine. Just disconnect from the internet. The second you go on it''ll pick up the update and the game will ask you to download to play it. Which is odd. I've never had that happen. So far unpatched the game runs amazing though

It's not the extent of Sony censorship, it's what they are censoring. It's that the censorship goes in one direction. Developers that push "the message" can create and sell what they want to. Developers that cater to traditional gaming audiences get the censor hammer. A large part of Stellar Blades success was people wanting to support a developer standing up to the censorship machine. Who knows what kind of pressure these devs face from the Sony censor goons behind the scenes and what games don't even make it beyond the conception stage nowadays.

Well as a PC player I was gonna buy a PS5 slim and this game but not anymore... I'll just wait 2-3 years until it comes out on PC and mods will take care of everything lol... It's a non-issue, but I feel bad for console players, any censorship is evil period.
That a bad mentality to have my friend. Your purchasing power today has the ability to affect what publishers and developers will make over the next two to three years. You should be encouraging people to buy the things that you want to see otherwise those few games will fail and fewer publishers and developers will make them.

This is a non issue. The top changes very little and it’s already been shared the video of the director of the game saying that the decision to implement it was between him and the team.

Any money you put towards a censored game like Stellar Blade is a signal to developers and publishers to keep ruining more games. Stellar Blade needs to fail if future games are to be any good, and as a person who wants to buy games in the future I don’t think that telling people to avoid the game is inconsistent with preferring a hands off approach.

That what expected aswell armour upgrades or suits based on gameplay style with one or 2 casual outfits thrown in the skin suit still exist in the game and is the most lewd

Don't care a out the coomer stuff. The blood is annoying , it looked awesome in the demo after defeating Abadon or whatever. It doesn't have the same impact now.

I dont really care about that being censored, its the right kind of thing to be censored. The game is still the same. I didnt mind her being all nude either, but its not a big deal they censored that.
I just don’t like the fact Sony censored this game if Sony didn’t like it having fan service why even sign a exclusive deal the whole point of this game being fan service while having great action gameplay like Bayonetta not even Nintendo censors Bayo & Nintendo is more family friendly because Nintendo know a massive part of Bayo is the sexy outfit with the great action gameplay. Also why censor this game when it’s rated M for mature Sony advertise this game as a uncensored game globally yet censored the game that’s false advertising & is the bigger picture I don’t really care that know you can’t see much cleavage on the certain outfit but if Sony gonna censor PS platform is gonna continue to loose players switching to PC & Nintendo. Sony censorship is starting to get a lil to much I could understand if Stellar blade was rated T but it’s rated M fr get a grip it also comes from a studio that makes a bunch of fan service games so again why sign a exclusive deal to water down the game

I am not here to look at a hard r sign for hours. The gameplay is great. Love the character so far and having a blast. If the censorship changes HUGE parts of a game to the point of destroying the game? Oh ok sure. But it won't affect my life even then. Tbh this much drama on both sides is like next level.

The director himself said that censored version was "always" going to be the final version. I know he was probably strong-armed in to doing the censoring, but why lie about it?
The disk version is v1.0. The early digital release version is v1.001. The 0day release is v1.002. The censroship was in v1.001.

I agree if the game was made that way from the get go I'd have no issue... My issue is it's about the principal of it. Absolutely no one should have a say about how they choose to make the game and they shouldn't be bullied.
They even reduced Eve's chest. Just look at the "Daliy Knitted Dress"! And look at the Mouton Peony dress, it looks like she has thigh high stocking on with pantyhose. I'd say that they censored the outfit by adding the pantyhose. They have also removed 3 outfits from the game. But Baldur's Gate 3 get a free past...WTF SONY, GIVE ME WHAT I PAID FOR!

I pre-ordered it because I played the demo and liked the gameplay. Then I come home from work, turn on computer and I see information that the game was altered on the day one.
I am very happy I did not download it and can refund it.
For me it's just about the principle. it was the same about Tifa outfit, sadly I could not refund it.
If they do this now, who knows how will they change the game in a year time when I come back to it with intention to replay I will be greeted with vastly altered software I paid for and not like because of those changes. Can I ask to get my money back because they replaced what I paid for?
Imagine going to dealership buying a car with tinted windows, driving it for some time, then doing the first service after 600 miles and finding out they removed the tint but not going to give you money back.
Stellar Blade, even seeing the light of day is a small victory for everything that you claim to believe in. The game has solid performance, no major game breaking bugs, a killer soundtrack, great combat that you even praised and they dared to bring back beautiful women. Stellar Blade is the full AAA package and you're going online to say that you couldn't get over a few altered outfits. When DEI takes over and all femininity is stamped out, I hope you are happy with your tinted car and your principles.

Next thing you know all the female characters are hit with the ugly stick. We accepted bs after bs. The creators themselves said there would be no censorship. They lied. They pulled a bait and switch. Sorry, at some point you have to have some God damn dignity, stand by your principles and just walk away before taking it up the bum one more time.
